Harem Points System: Every Touch Counts!-Chapter 33: Dungeon!
As for whether he’d survive the dungeon and clear it completely, the answer was obvious. While his combat abilities were admittedly lacking, his healing capability was extraordinary. Given enough time, he’d adapt, endure, and defeat every monster in the dungeon.
With that, Xavier took a deep breath to steel his mind and ordered the system, ’Use the dungeon pass, take me to the dungeon...’
In an instant, he disappeared from the room, leaving only the soft rustle of the curtains and the faint warmth of their shared night behind.
’I wonder which type of beasts I’ll be seeing inside,’
---
For that split second of instant teleportation, his vision blackened. ’Huh?’
However, the next second, his sight returned—and he found himself in a completely different place.
Looking around, he saw that he was on a small piece of land, and behind him was a black wall. In front of him, a shallow pond surrounded the land he stood on, with a bridge leading over the water to a small forested area. The entire space was around fifteen square kilometers, enclosed by the same ominous black walls. A few sparse trees dotted the landscape.
Suddenly, a small green goblin appeared, walking in his direction. The goblin was about three feet tall, with leathery, dark green skin that seemed to blend into the shadows.
Its large, bulbous eyes glowed with a malevolent yellow hue, and its pointed ears twitched with every sound. Sharp teeth protruded from its mouth, giving it a perpetual snarl. It wore tattered rags that barely clung to its scrawny frame, and in its gnarled hand, it clutched a rusty dagger.
Xavier’s heart leaped, but he remained calm. This was his first time seeing a goblin in real life, but he took it surprisingly well.
The area he stood in was completely open. To find better hiding spots, he would need to cross the bridge, but that would expose him to the goblin patrolling on the other side.
Thinking quickly, he gritted his teeth and cursed under his breath. He scrambled beneath the bridge, gripping the wooden supports to prevent himself from falling into the water below. The water looked shallow, but any splash would give him away.
He had no good weapon, only a sharp kitchen knife he managed to get. As for how he’d deal with the goblins in this dungeon—well, Xavier was a civilian in his past life, but he wasn’t completely oblivious to martial arts. While he was training for the perfect body fitting for his job as a porn actor, he naturally took some interest in fighting techniques—both defensive, offensive, and the stealth part of it too.
Meanwhile, he remained silent, all his senses on high alert.
The goblin’s footsteps grew closer, its guttural muttering audible above the faint rustling of leaves. Xavier held his breath, every muscle tensed as he tried to blend into the shadows under the bridge. He could hear the goblin’s labored breathing as it passed overhead, pausing briefly as if sensing something was amiss.
Xavier remained still, his fingers aching from the strain of holding his weight. The goblin’s dagger scraped against the wooden planks of the bridge, creating an eerie, grating sound. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the goblin continued its patrol, moving away from the bridge.
Releasing a slow, controlled breath, Xavier cautiously pulled himself out from under the bridge. He waited a few moments to ensure the goblin was truly gone before stepping onto the bridge. His eyes scanned the small forest ahead, alert for any signs of danger.
He had to move quickly and quietly. The dungeon was likely filled with more creatures, and he needed to be prepared. As he crossed the bridge, Xavier’s thoughts raced, formulating a plan for navigating the treacherous terrain and dealing with whatever else lay in wait.
’First, I need to deal with that goblin,’ Xavier thought, his gaze fierce. He wasn’t here to goof around, so he had to be very fast about everything he was doing.
He began to follow the goblin, moving light on his feet. Utilizing a stealth technique he had tried one time in his past life, he relaxed his muscles, his breathing calm and fluid.
This scene kinda reminded him of the popular Baki following scene, where Retsu was tailing a soldier. Shaking off the image from his mind, Xavier focused on the task at hand...
Closing the distance between himself and the patrolling goblin within moments, Xavier remained undetected. The goblin didn’t notice him until he was right behind it. Its ears perked up when, from a side glance, it caught a shadow of a figure behind it.
It sensed danger instantly. The shape and size of Xavier’s human shadow were unfamiliar, and it immediately knew that the figure sneaking up on it wasn’t another goblin.
Sensing the danger, the goblin turned sharply, snarling with disdain as it gripped its rusty dagger tighter. However, before it could fully turn around, it caught a cold silver gleam from the corner of its eye.
Xavier slashed at the goblin’s neck—the kitchen blade cut deep into its throat. The knife sank halfway through, and green blood spurted out in thick streams. Xavier quickly clasped the goblin’s mouth shut, preventing it from making a noise that would attract more goblins.
The dying goblin struggled against him, flailing weakly. But with such huge blood loss—and its throat and windpipe severed—it was only a matter of time...
Slowly, life drained out of it. It fell limply to the ground.
Xavier sighed at how the goblin’s green blood had stained him all over.
It was strange that he felt nothing from killing the beast. Maybe it was because it was just a goblin.
Xavier wiped the green blood from his blade, his eyes scanning the surroundings for any other threats. Satisfied that he was alone, he picked up the dagger beside the beast’s corpse.
It was heavy and dull, clearly well-worn from use. He decided to keep it, though—figuring it might come in handy later. It was, at least, very much better than a kitchen knife.
