Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 150: Be my girlfriend
Audrey stood beside her car in front of her company waiting for Lake and Mikhail to approach her.
She saw the unfamiliar black car beside hers and something told her the expensive car was Lake’s.
"You know him?" Leon pointed at Lake who was holding Mikhail’s hand as he walked toward Audrey.
Audrey looked over at Lake, her heart aching, "No," She lied.
It was better no one knew anything about them; she couldn’t risk the truth slipping out of someone’s mouth and reaching his ears.
"Moma, he’s riding with us " Mikhail announced as they paused beside her and Leon.
Audrey looked at Lake and saw him staring at her; she felt her cheeks warm up; he was staring attentively at her as if he wanted to find her secrets through her eyes.
"You want to ride with us," Audrey asked quietly.
"Is that an inconvenience for you?" Lake questioned with a straight face.
"Um-"
"Yes, it is. Can’t you see you’re making her uncomfortable?" Leon stepped forward and challenged Lake.
Baker gasped behind Leon, he pitied him. If he knew who Lake was, he wouldn’t have thought of talking to him that way.
Lake looked over at Leon, feeling his dislike for the young man grow more intense.
Audrey felt conflicted; she didn’t know how to ask Leon to stay away from Lake without sounding as if she knew and cared about him.
Lake was about to say something to Leon when Mikhail suddenly pulled the door open, "Come on, let’s get in; Granny is waiting," Mikhail dragged Lake into the car, closing the door immediately after they went in.
"The boy switches places so fast; I thought I was his Papa?" Leon asked, disappointed.
Audrey almost told him that Mikhail acted that way because he was finally with his real father but she only chuckled and shifted her shoulders, "See you at home, Leon," She told him before going inside the car.
Leon sighed. He was starting to feel left out, but he wasn’t about to let a man who had just appeared half an hour ago push him away from a woman he’d known for five years. He quickly walked into his car and followed Audrey’s car behind.
Inside Audrey’s car, Audrey was quietly driving, stealing glances through the front mirror, looking at Lake as he attentively listened to Mikhail’s rant about his day at school.
"It’ll be safer to let your eyes on the road, Ms. Audrey," Lake suddenly looked up at her, meeting her eyes through the front mirror.
Audrey quickly blinked, focusing on her eyes on the road.
"That’s the same thing Papa always tells her," Mikhail reported.
"Mikhail, be quiet," Audrey said to her son, her fingers tightening around the steering.
Lake frowned, so she also let that man ride in her car, interesting. What kind of a businesswoman had such an unofficial relationship with her business partner?
He still found her suspicious; he didn’t believe a woman such as her could get this far just on her own; she must have slept with some rich men to get her to her current status.
"I see," he replied to the boy, meanwhile, his eyes were strained on Audrey.
Throughout the ride, Audrey kept shifting uncomfortably in her seat; Lake kept staring at her, trying to make out why he was feeling so drawn to her for no reason.
Audrey sighed in relief when she drove through her white gate, she couldn’t wait to get out of the car and get into a larger space with Lake, she was feeling Avery getting too excited, and thus time if she got aroused, he would scent it immediately because she wasn’t masking her scent this time.
"Let’s go; Granny is waiting," Mikhail jumped down from the car and grabbed Lake’s hand, leading him into their home.
Lake was surprised by how beautiful the house looked; she made her house look like a five-star hotel. He let the boy lead him up the stairs and to the white door.
Audrey was standing beside her car, watching the guys go into the house; as much as she loved seeing her son interacting with his real father, she knew it was too risky a thing to do. She was going to look for a way to cut every relationship with Lake, starting from the business proposal she was going to refuse; then she would look for a way to make Mikhail forget he ever saw someone like him.
She felt bad thinking about these thoughts; she knew exactly how it felt growing up without a parent, and she never wished for her son to have that experience.
But her situation was different, in this case, she was trying to keep the father safe, and it could only be achieved by staying away from him.
She’d cut all ties to everybody home just because she never wanted to have anyone or anything link Lake to her, but it was no longer necessary to continue doing so since he had already found her before they did.
"Granny, I’m home," Mikhail tipped his toes and pressed on the doorbell.
Lake was looking down at the boy, he had his mother’s eyes, and for some reason, he found that attribute very beautiful and cute on the boy.
Soon, the door opened to reveal another woman who looked at the boy’s mother; Lake immediately knew that she must be the Granny the boy was walking about.
"Hello, Mikhail, who’s your..." Isabella paused, frozen as she stared at Lake’s face.
She quickly looked over at Audrey, his eyes portraying millions of unspoken questions.
Audrey just shook her head, signaling her to let the topic go for now.
"Meet my friend, Granny!" Mikhail stepped beside his Granny and pointed to Lake.
"Hello, Ma’am, I’m Lake," Lake greeted politely.
Again, as he stared at Isabella’s face, he couldn’t help but feel as if he was supposed to know the face, the same he felt when he saw Green, but he had ignored it. He was starting to question all the things happening around him since he arrived in Paris; maybe he was feeling all these because this was his first time traveling out of his country after five years.
"Hi, Lake, welcome to our home; please, come in," Isabella stepped out of the way to let Lake into their home, holding Mikhail’s hand beside her.
Lake nodded his his head. Before he entered the house, he looked behind him and saw Audrey leaning against her car, he frowned, knowing she was probably waiting for her boyfriend.
It was none of his business; he turned and walked into the house.
"Please, have a seat," Isabella pointed at the white sofa.
Lakes smiled at her, "Thank you," He lowered himself onto the comfortable sofa.
In the next second, Mikhail was beside him, "Come on, I want to show you my awesome toys and my-"
"Mickie, let the visitor be, you know what to do when you get back from school, honey," Isabella went and dragged the boy away from Lake.
"I’ll be right back with my favorite toy!" Mikhail announced as he followed his grandma into his room for a bath and a change of clothes.
Lake was alone in the living room; he looked around the room and could only see pictures of Mikhail placed on top of the fireplace, with just one of Audrey and Isabella beside the boy’s picture.
He felt like she was trying her best to keep everything about her private, even in her own home, it almost felt as if she was hiding something from someone who could suddenly walk into her house one day.
She was a mysterious woman, and he was about to uncover her mysteries, starting from the reason she copied his name and wine.
He suddenly heard a chuckle behind the door, followed by Leon’s voice. His wolf growled lowly, they both didn’t like Leon.
He kept his eyes on the door, waiting for them to enter the house, and when they did, his aura turned murderous as he saw Leon’s hand possessively placed around Audrey’s middle.
He sprang up, and before he could stop himself, he marched forward to Leon and forcefully tore his hand away from Audrey, then proceeded to grab Auftry’s hand and led her into the closest space he saw.
"Mr. Aloha! Everything okay?!" Audrey questioned as she felt herself being dragged into the kitchen.
Leon stood in front of the door, glaring at Lake.
"I’d advise you to let them be, Mr. Leon," Green suddenly spoke behind him and quietly walked into the room.
Lake’s face was set hard as he glared down at Audrey’s innocent and confused face below him.
"Mr. Aloha, is everything okay? You’re kinda acting out of line," Audrey reminded subtly.
Lake raised an angry brow at her. "I’m acting out of line? No. Him holding your waist was out of line," He scoffed.
Audrey was confused, why was she sensing his jealous wolf? She thought he wasn’t supposed to feel anything for her at all.
Whatever the reason was, she wasn’t going to lead him on.
"Mr. Aloha, what I do with my body, is none of your business," She replied with a serious face.
Lake chuckled darkly, "Really?" He questioned darkly.
Audrey rolled her eyes at him, "Yes, really, really,"
"Then become my girlfriend," He blurted out.
"What?" Audrey asked, her eyes and mouth widened in disbelief.
She had just heard wrong. Was Karma and Nature still trying with her?
She thought she had escaped all this?!
