Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 155: Melody
"I - we, you-"
"Mummy! Is Lake done?! Someone’s looking for him!" Mikhail knocked on the door.
Audrey’s eyes widened, and she quickly pushed Lake away, jumping down from the washer.
"I’m sorry, Mr. Aloha, I have to go," Audrey rushed and dressed herself while Lake stood by the side, watching her intently.
"Please, let’s pretend this never happened," Audrey spoke quietly before she opened the door and left.
Like hell, he would. Lake wasn’t about to back away from something that intrigued him, as long as he was concerned, he’d just discovered the only thing that could intrigue and interest him in life.
"Sorry, Ms. Audrey, I’m afraid I want more," he smirked as he stared at the door.
Downstairs, Audrey made sure she looked calm and collected in front of everyone. She walked down the stairs just to find Andrew sitting on the sofa with an unrecognized girl beside him.
’Oh no! Don’t tell me everyone from the Grey Blood Pack will soon be migrating here," Audrey thought in alarm.
And who was that pristine-looking girl sitting beside him?
She could feel Leon’s questioning eyes on her but she ignored him. She had some serious questions to ask Andrew in private.
Andrew heard Audrey’s footsteps coming down from the stairs and immediately turned to her.
He was almost tempted to go and hug her if he didn’t have to pretend in front of that girl.
He locked eyes with her and gave her a secret smile.
"Hello, and welcome to my home, how may I help you?" She asked politely.
Andrew stood and offered her a handshake.
Audrey smiled at him, briefly though, then turned to the girl who remained seated, not bothering to greet her.
Weird.
But she ignored her and looked at Andrew again.
She had sent Green a message to take some new clothes up to Lake, he should be on his way down by now.
"Hi, my name is Andrew, and this is Melody," Andrew introduced.
Audrey nodded. "Nice to meet you, Andrew, Melody," she smiled at the snobby girl.
"Mummy, I know, Ruby told me her Grandma was deaf and dumb and was always like this lady over here. So mummy, she can’t hear you, she’s deaf and dumb, that’s why she can’t speak," Mikhail innocently explained beside Audrey.
Audrey almost bent over in laughter, but she held her; she saw the ’deaf and dumb’ lady snap her head to Mikhail.
Surprisingly, she smiled. "Hello, little boy, I’m Aunt Melody," Melody offered a handshake
Mikhail shook his head. "My name is Mikhail, a not little boy. And you’re not my aunt. My aunt is Green," he ignored Melody’s outstretched hand.
Everyone in the room felt embarrassed on behalf of Melody. She slowly retracted her hand and still smiled at the boy.
"Very well," She nodded at him.
"Can I speak to you privately?" Audrey asked Andrew.
Andrew nodded at once, he too had things he wanted to tell her.
But before he could leave, footsteps sounded from the stairs, causing everyone to look toward the stairs.
Audrey and Andrew paused in their steps, raising their faces to look at Lake.
Andrew had wanted to give Audrey an insight about Melody, but he guessed she was about to find out herself, he could only hope things didn’t escalate.
Green was quiet in a corner, her senses were telling her that something serious was about to happen.
Leon stepped forward, going to stand beside Audrey to keep Lake from approaching her.
"Lake!" Mikhail ran to him the moment he saw him.
Lake saw that the boy was trying to jump on him so he quickly lowered himself and lifted Mikhail into his arms.
"You smell fresh, no more food stains," Mikhail whispered.
Lake nodded, "Yes, all thanks to your mother," Lake whispered back.
Andrew watched curiously, but he didn’t need to question himself for long, as he could already see where the little boy got his looks from.
He never knew Audrey was pregnant when she left the Pack, but seeing the boy removed every question of whether or not Audrey had gotten him from another man.
Melody had thought she would be the first person Lake would recognize when he walked from the stairs, but he hadn’t even noticed her presence. He was busy whispering with that kid as if they had some serious secret topic going on between them.
She stood up and cat-walked past Audrey in her red high heels, her red gown flowing behind her and her black hair stopping just at her shoulder.
Audrey watched with interest as Melody walked toward Lake who was still busy speaking with Mikhail.
"Baby," Melody called in a sweet voice as she reached Lake’s side, placing her slim fingers on his arm.
Audrey blinked slowly, immediately feeling Avery protesting within her.
’Baby what? That mother fucker! He’s ours!’ Avery growled possesively inside Audrey’s head.
Audrey slowly closed her eyes to keep Avery at bay, well, not just Avery, herself too.
She never knew she could feel this murderous toward an innocent person.
Lake suddenly paused and looked beside him, and when he saw who it was, his smile fell from his face.
"Melody?" He frowned as he saw the girl in front of him, and then he quickly looked behind her scanning for Audrey.
His eyes met her closed ones, and just as if she felt Lake’s eyes on her, her eyes opened and were met with his grey orbs looking so troubled.
She managed to stare blankly at him, not wanting him to see how hurt she was feeling by already assuming what was going on between him and Melody.
Lake couldn’t understand why he felt he’d been caught cheating; he felt like he had greatly wronged Audrey.
Was it just because of the kiss they shared upstairs? But he shouldn’t be feeling that way just for someone he’d met for a day; if he should feel guilty toward anyone, it should be toward Melody, whom he’d known for longer than he had known Audrey.
But he couldn’t just shake the feeling of guilt off as he stared at Audrey’s green eyes.
Audrey slowly removed her eyes from Lake, staring at Melody’s distorted face. The young lady was trying her best not to let her anger show in front of Lake.
Audrey cleared her throat, feeling as the tension was rising in the room. She decided to deal with it and let everyone be on their way.
This was the most visitors she’s had in her home for the whole five years.
"Mr. Aloha, we can discuss our business next time, I don’t want to keep your guests waiting," She smiled politely as she moved closer to Lake.
"Guests? You’re wrong. I’m his fiancé," Melody informed proudly.
Audrey almost tripped herself and stumbled on her feet but Leon was fast to catch her in his arms, "Are you okay?" He asked softly.
Audrey nodded and righted herself. "Thanks, Leon," She said and walked over to Lake.
Ignoring Melody’s piercing look, she stretched her two hands out to her son.
"Come on, Baby, Mr. Aloha has to go now," Audrey carried Mikhail away from Lake’s hand.
Melody didn’t let the opportunity; the moment Audrey took Mikhail from Lake, she seized his arm, locking it with hers, and pushing herself into his side.
"Baby, I came all the way here to see you, come on, let’s go to our hotel," Melody spoke dotingly. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Lake had wanted to say something to Audrey but Melody’s hand on his immediately returned the feeling of discomfort to his soul. He felt the familiar emptiness seeping through her touch.
But he could not push her away, he gave her his word.
Isabella saw the look Lake was giving Andrew and understood that Andrew must have done something Lake didn’t approve of.
Privacy.
She knew they needed some Privacy to speak to each other.
"Green, come help me clear something in my room," Isabella secretly tugged Green’s arm.
"Ma’am, I just cleared everything up in your room, there’s nothing to-"
"I made a mess, come, come," Isabella gently held her hand and led her away.
"I’ll take him with me," Isabella gently carried Mikhail from Audrey’s hands.
"Say bye to Lake," Isabella said to the little boy.
Mikhail was pouting, but he knew that this was the kind of situation his mother always told him that it was only adults who could stay.
"Bye, Lake, will I see you again?" He asked sadly.
Lake felt his heart tugging painfully at the sad look on Mikhail’s face.
"Sure, Mikhail, I’ll always come around to see you," he patted the boy’s head.
Mikhail smiled and waved at Lake as Isabella carried him away from the living room.
"Oh, baby, you sure know how to handle babies, can’t wait for when we’ll have our mini you," Melody spoke softly beside Lake.
She wanted to get his attention away from that boy.
She never knew Lake liked kids, but since he did, then it was about time she gave him one
Audrey sighed, this was the most hurting period she’d faced for the first time in five years.
Seeing Lake with someone else who claimed to be his fiancé hurt her so much.
Does that mean he’s done it with her too?
Fuck this!
"It was nice meeting you, Mr. Aloha. You can contact me through my email, have a nice day," Audrey walked over to her door and opened it, pointing her hands outside.
Lake slowly walked toward the door, and Melody was beside him, smiling secretly at Audrey.
Audrey removed her eyes from Melody’s face and looked away.
"Everything alright, baby?" Leon asked beside Audrey as he came and wrapped his arms around her waist.
He noticed that her mood wasn’t as bright as it used to be, so he was worried that Lake must have done something to her when they went upstairs.
Audrey only shook her head, "It’s nothing."
"Goodbye, Ms. Audrey," Andrew was the first to walk out of the door, and he was glad he held himself from almost bowing to Audrey as the recognized Luna she was.
Audrey smiled at him, nodding.
Lake reached her front and instantly glared at Leon’s hands which were still holding her waist.
"You will see me tomorrow, Ms. Audrey," He spoke lowly, his face looking very dark and angry.
Audrey bit her lips. She was almost tempted to question him thoroughly about his relationship with Melody, but she remembered that it was no longer her business, whom he dated or married was absolutely not her concern.
"See you then, Mr. Aloha," Audrey replied politely.
"Oh no, dearie, you won’t get to see him tomorrow. Or ever, I don’t trust you enough with my baby," Melody spoke very softly, but her eyes conveyed malice.
"Quit it, Melody, go," Lake slowly removed his hand from hers.
Melody’s smile fell from her face. "But, I thought-"
"Go, Melody," Lake said again, this time, with his Alpha command.
Melody immediately bowed her head, "Yes, Alpha," She threw Audrey a nasty look before she cat-walked away from the house.
"You," Lake turned his face to Audrey.
"You’re coming with me," He went to drag her hand but Leon was quick to step in front of her.
"I think you’re getting something wrong, Mr. Lake," Leon stepped forward, looking directly into Lake’s eyes.
