Chapter 199: Ava’s Identity

Lake helped Mikhail with a bath, and after dressing him up, he got a call from Andrew and had to leave.

"Do you want to come with me? I’ll be quick, then we can go see Leon," Lake asked as he buttoned the last button on Mikhail’s shirt.

Mikhail shook his head, "No, dad, I’ll stay here and wait for you and Moma to return." He said.

Lake nodded and kissed his forehead, "I’ll be quick, then." He told Mikhail.

Lake left Mikhail’s room, hurrying to finish whatever business Andrew needed to talk about.

Mikhail sat on the bed until he heard the living room’s door closing, indicating that he was officially alone.

He quickly jumped down from the bed and frowned, "What were you saying, Statue lady?" He spoke to the air around him.

He closed his eyes as if he wanted to concentrate on something, and when he heard the voice he wanted to hear, he took a deep breath and nodded.

"Okay, do you promise that it won’t hurt my Moma and my Dad?" He asked again and closed his eyes.

It seemed like he heard a pleasant reply because he smiled and nodded, "Okay, I’ll do it." He said.

Quietly, he walked out of his room and stood in front of Lake’s door. He glanced down the stairs to make sure no one was coming and then, slowly, he twisted the knob and pushed the door in and slid into the room.

A few minutes later, Mikhail was swiftly walking in hidden paths and corners of the pack as he slowly reached his destination.

Mikhail was walking past the hospital, walking behind the trees to hide away from anyone that might see him and decide to carry the little kid back to his mother. He didn’t want that, he knew exactly what he was doing and going back to his mother wasn’t very ideal at the moment.

Audrey would question what he was doing out there and he wouldn’t know what to say to her. He didn’t want her getting angry in the slightest way, he loved her and what he was about doing might seem bad, but it would turn out perfect for his mother... the statue lady said so.

"Hey!" Dora suddenly jumped in front of him, a suspicious look on her face as she folded her hands on her chest.

Mikhail gasped and took a step back, sighing when he saw it was just Dora.

"Yeah... youre so sus... what are you about to do? Tell me or I’ll sniff it off you," Dora threatened, pointing a finger at Mikhail.

Mikhail pouted, "Ugh, okay, okay. Promise not tell?" He moved closer to Dora.

Dora hesitated before nodding, "Okay, if you let me join you." She whispered.

Mikhail smiled and whispered something into Dora’s ear.

Dora gasped, "Really? Will you take me to the statue later?" She asked, enthusiastic. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Mikhail nodded.

"Wait here, I’ll bring Cherry," Dora said and quickly ran into the hospital.

After a minute, she returned with an apprehensive Cherry.

"Maybe we should tell Daddy first, what if -"

"No. Let’s go, Mikhail," Dora hooked her arm around her twin and Mikhail and together, they tip-toed away to their unknown secret mission.

"Hey, I think that’s her," Mikhail paused behind a truck in front if an apartment building and pointed to a woman who looked to be coming back from a morning run in her pink yoga pants and top.

"Yes, that’s Ava," Cherry mumbled quietly.

"No," Dora frowned, raising her nose in the air and sniffing the air.

"That’s not Ava... that’s... um..." She scratched the side of her head.

"That’s who?" Mikhail asked, curious.

Dora turned to Cherry for help, "You know her name, um, you saw her when you touched Audrey. I did see her in Audrey’s memories, too, but I didn’t bother saving her name because I didn’t like her, come on, twin, remember." She tugged Cherry’s hand.

Cherry let Dora tug her as she peered at Ava, trying to match her face with someone from Audrey’s past but she found no match. "Maybe I missed this one. I’ve never seen her before." She sighed, bending over to pick up a twig from the floor.

"So, are you twins saying that she’s not the person I’m supposed to give it to?" Mikhail questioned.

Dora shook her head, "No, she’s definitely the one. Cherry doesn’t recognise her because of her fake appearance, I almost didn’t, too. But after sniffing her scent, I knew she was the same person." She replied.

"Then... tell Cherry what role Ava played in the past, maybe she would remember that way," Mikhail suggested.

"Yes, awesome," Dora giggled.

Cherry faced Dora, waiting for her description.

"Okay, twinnie, here’s a clue. There were a few women who hated Audrey and wanted to be her... I mean, Alpha’s mate. I remember most of them but not this one," Dora frowned.

"Oh, I know. Janeth? She once used magic to look like Audrey," Cherry supplied.

Dora shook her head, "Janeth is still in the pack, dummy, it’s not her. Try someone else." She said.

Cherry bit her lip, "Um, Cara?"

"No."

"Grace?"

"No."

"Elena?"

"Ew, no,"

"Adeline -"

"Yes!" Dora hugged Cherry, laughing happily.

"Shh... be quiet!" Mikhail whispered-yelled, seeing as Ava had slowly turned her head toward their direction.

"Opps, sorry," Dora whispered.

Cherry was smiling from ear to ear, happy she could help.

"We have to walk up to her first before she finds us hiding. She’ll become suspicious if she finds us in here," Mikhail instructed and gently pulled the girls out from behind the tall trees.

"So, act normal, hand her the stuff and what? Leave?" Dora asked.

"No, we don’t hand it directly, we pretend to lose it in front of her and then she picks it up," Mikhail said.

"Okay, act normal," Cherry whispered as they approached Ava.

"Good morning, beautiful lady," Dora was the first to greet Ava.

Ava turned and saw three kids behind her, her brows furrowed in impatience. "How may I help you?" She asked them.

She knew Mikhail was Audrey and Lake’s child, but she didn’t know who’s children the twins were.

She didn’t care, she didn’t want them around her.

"Allow me to introduce to you, my second cousins: Dora and Cherry. Maria and Caleb’s twins" Mikhail smiled at Ava.

Ava sighed, so that’s who’s children they were.

She wished she could just kick those kids to the ground, but she couldn’t, people would see and she had an image to protect.

"What do you want, Mikhail, Dora and Cherry?" She asked, pretending to smile.

"Aww, she knows my name," Cherry whispered, smiling.

Ava gritted her teeth, feeling like twisting Cherry’s head off her neck. She wanted to go in, shower, and prepare to meet Lake that morning; not to stand under the rising sun and speak to three musketeers.

"Well, we don’t want to take much of your time, pretty Ava. We just wanted to ask if you could direct us to the mall. We want to surprise our parents and buy them a great gift. You know... thank them for being the best werewolves in the world. You wouldn’t understand yet, you have no pups," Mikhail sighed, shaking his head.

Cherry started to giggle and Dora joined her, covering their mouths with their hands as they openly stared at Ava and kept giggling.

Ava balled her fists, her face turning red from anger and embarrassment. She felt insulted by those kids, but what can she do to them? Nothing; at least, not there in the open.

She cleared her throat and raised her hand, "That way, keep walking down the street, you’ll see a large building with cars parked in front. That’s the mall." She gave them the directions.

"Okay, girls, enough laughing, she was kind enough to direct us. Be kind," Mikhail said.

Dora and Cherry nodded, slowly straightening up.

Dora stepped closer to Ava and raised her face to look right at her, "Goodbye, Ms. Fake. We know who you really are." She stuck out her tongue and turned away from a confused Ava.

"Let’s go," Cherry pulled Dora away and followed Mikhail behind.

Ava frowned, she now officially hated those kids, just like she hated their parents. Maybe she could start by making them dissappear; they would be quite fun and easy to kill. She smiled to herself and stared at Mikhail, he would be the sweetest revenge of all time.

Suddenly, she saw something fall from Mikhail’s pocket, she thought he would stop and pick it up, but he didn’t. He was unaware of what he had lost.

Curious, she waited for them to get farther away from her before she hurried over and picked it up, and, when she saw what it was, she smiled evily to herself.

"Thank you, young Alpha. You have prepared your own father’s death," She said to herself, a new surge of evil hope rising within her.

She had the perfect tool this time: Melody.

This time, she wasn’t about to throw herself in the front line like she did in the past and almost got herself killed by that bitch, Audrey. It was her time to watch Audrey perish, together with her stupid mate and son.

She was here to revenge her father, who Audrey had burned alive. Nothing can stop her until she sees Audrey breath her fucking last.
