Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 203: Water boy
Mikhail stood by the side of the monster he had created, his eyes glowing a mix of green and gold; his wolf and magical powers were both awoken.
"No, no, no, p-please make it go away!" Ava now sat on the floor, trembling all over as the monster stood in front of her, breathing heavily as it awaited its master’s orders.
Mikhail stepped forward, standing in front of his monster, "You were asked to stop, but you didn’t. Now, I’m not stopping. She’s yours, Stone." He said to his monster, stepped aside, and pointed to Ava.
With a slight nod and a low growl, Stone marched forward and picked a screaming Ava up from the floor.
Ava screamed, her lips and limbs trembling as Stone brought her closer to its wide and dark mouth.
"Mikhail," Audrey held Mikhail’s shoulder and squatted in front of him, "Hey, honey, can you keep her alive for now? Moma would like to have a word with her later." She said to him, staring into his glowing eyes.
She could feel his wolf, her pup. She was both surprised and shocked, but she would talk about that later.
Mikhail nodded, "You heard, Moma, Stone. Keep her, for now." He said.
With another low and deep growl, Stone bowed his head and slowly started to walk away with Ava hanging upside down in his hand; she was long passed out from fear.
"Come on, Moma, let’s go," Mikhail held Audrey’s hand and led her towards Lake, who was leaning on the side of the closed gate, looking weak and shocked.
Everyone was shocked. They stared at Mikhail in awe, still not comprehending how he could do such a thing at such a young age.
"I’m sorry for the delay, baby. Come on," Audrey wrapped her arm around Lake’s waist while Mikhail held his hand.
Together, they entered the garden, others following behind.
Lake groaned the moment he entered the garden, shutting his eyes tightly, "Ugh... my head..." he grunted.
Audrey frowned, "Come on, baby, this way." She said and gently led him towards the statue.
"Damn, this place is awesome," Sebastian murmured as he looked around the quiet and beautiful garden.
"Be quiet, Seb," Green whispered, pointing at Audrey and her family in front, "This is serious." She said.
Sebastian slowly nodded, "I’m sorry." He winked at her.
’Took you two too long to mark each other,’ A voice ran out softly around the garden.
Lake squinted his eyes up at the statue and froze, Slowly, he turned to look at Audrey.
"That’s you? How’s that - Ugh!" He fell on his knees and held his head, groaning.
"Catherine, help my dad, please," Mikhail stepped forward and placed his hand on the statue, staring up at it.
’You’ve brought him here already, young Alpha. It’s left for him to choose his path. Let’s hope the memories he encountered in his journey were pleasant ones that would make him want to return to you and your mother. He is already on a journey, whether he comes back depends on his strength and the connection he’s built with you and his mate.’ The statue informed him.
"Audrey..." Lake called in a strained voice as he wrote holding his head.
Audrey lowered herself by his side on the floor, sitting close to him, "I’m here, baby, I’m right here. Mikhail’s here, too, even the annoying Sebastian. We’re not going anywhere, I promise you. Fight for us." She whispered as she gently made him lie down, placing his head on her lap.
Mikhail walked over to his parents and sat beside them, "Don ’t worry, Moma. Dad’s going to be just fine. He’s strong, he’ll choose us, you’ll see." He said, taking Lake’s hand and kissing it before placing it on his lap.
Audrey’s tears fell freely. She was normally strong, but not today; this was exactly what she’d been running from for five years, but she still could not outrun fate.
Maybe she was never meant to leave, maybe the gods forgot to tell her that Lake only had a few years to live after she saved him. That would have been a clearer message because she no longer understood anything.
Sniffing, she gazes at Lake’s face and lowers her mouth to his, kissing him softly, "You’re going to be fine, my love. I know you will." She whispered.
Lake furrowed his brows lightly but didn’t open his eyes, his hand only tightened around Mikhail’s, as if he was holding it for support.
’Don’t sound so sure, great one. This time, it’s all about his soul deciding if it’s time to cross over to the other side, or if it still wants to stay here with you. You only need to hope he comes back.’ The stairs spoke again.
Audrey suddenly snapped her head toward the statue, glaring at it, "You know? I think ots time to shit your fucking mouth." She said, breathing angrily.
"Hey, easy, you need to stay calm," Maria went and squatted by Audrey’s side, patting her back in an attempt to calm her down.
Aydrey scoffed, "Calm down? Why should I? I’ve been calm for what? Five ducking years! And now, I’m here, and that immobile bitch asked me to mate him, I did! Now, she’s fucking taking a step back and claiming that it all depends on Lake’s strength. What strength is she talking about when I can barely feel his fucking wolf!" Audrey snapped, crying loudly as she kept glaring at the statue.
"It’s alright, Audrey. For your son’s sake, calm down," Maria whispered.
Audrey took a shaky breath in, glancing at Mikhail who seemed to be in his world, staring at his father’s face. He didn’t even look like he was listening to whatever was happening around him.
He suddenly lowered himself flat on the floor and also lay his head on Audrey’s lap, placing his head next to his father’s.
Audrey sighed, "I’m sorry, Mikhail. I should really stay calm. Moma’s sorry." She said, patting his head.
Mikhail smiled at her, "It’s okay, Moma, Sky and I are not angry, we just want to accompany Dad." He said and shut his eyes, making sure his head was touching Lake’s.
Audrey frowned, "Sky? Who’s Sky?" She asked but Mikhail didn’t respond.
"Mikhail? Talk to Moma, who is Sky?" She asked, lowering her voice and placing her hand on his forehead.
’He can’t hear you. He already told you that he and Sky would be accompanying their father. Sky is his wolf,’ The statue informed.
Audrey suddenly chuckled as she forced her eyes away from her now-unconscious son to look at the statue again.
"Oh. I was never told I’ll have to lose my mate and pup flat the wane time, a little heads up would have been nice. But I guess I like surprises," She chuckled, but only tears fell.
"Why? Catherine? Why did you ask me to mark him when you knew exactly what was going to happen? Was my sin in my previous life so unforgivable that I have to face such a tragedy? Can’t I have a normal happy family? Why must I have to go through pain?" She sobbed.
Everyone surrounded her in silence. Each silently praying for Lake and Mikhail to be alright. They all knew Audrey would cause havoc if anything happened to either of them, worse, both of them.
’You’re son is fine, Audrey. He chose to go because he could feel his father’s distress. He can leave the present and enter the spiritual, just like you do. But this time, Lake’s soul couldn’t call to you, your son felt his distress and went to be his guide. I will never hurt you, Audrey... you’re me, don’t forget that,’ The statue’s voice bore pain in its voice as it spoke.
Audrey looked away from it, clenching her fists.
"If you’d never hurt me, then why did you ask me to mark him when you knew the consequences?" She asked.
’It would have been worse if Adeline told him about you. She would have told him what happened, most of the messages she would delu ee to him with would be a lie. He would recall only what she told him, he would hate you due to the lies Adelinw would tell him, and eventually, he would die hating you,’ The statue explained.
Audrey frowned, so that was what could have happened? Adeline was planning to tell Lake a half-truth and get him to hate her before he died for good.
’Marking him was a plus, now, your souls are connected, he’s not alone wherever he is, at least, he would always feel that there’s someone else connected to him. Your bond is strong, you should focus on bonding with him, not fighting me,’ The statue advised.
Audrey sighed, "I’m sorry." She apologised to the statue.
"God, look at that... what’s that?" Maria gasped as she stared at the river.
Audrey raised her head and looked at the river. There, stood a boy formed by water on top of the river, his body was formed, and even before the water formed his face, Audrey was already smiling.
"It’s Mikhail..." Audrey whispered, staring at the beautiful water boy, glittering under the sunlight as he stared at her with his clear watery eyes.
