Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 205: The gathering
Audrey chuckled to herself as she reached the pach house and saw Melody speaking to Lake with a stupid smile on her face.
’Is she the person you want?’ Audrey thought angrily as she marched toward them.
"Excuse me, I need to take my son away from this trash," She stepped in between them and gently pulled Mikhail out of Lake’s arms.
"I mean, if she’s the idiot you want, then I’m disappointed at you, Ava would have even been prettier," She scoffed and turned to walk away but suddenly remembered something, paused, and turned to Lake again.
"Oh, and if you think I’ll be leaving my son here to you and your new Luna, then you’re not as smart as I thought you were, Alpha," She narrowed her eyes at him before she turned and walked into the pack house.
Audrey didn’t bother going up to their condo, the memories would only worsen her pain.
"What are you planning to do?" Isabella asked Audrey, who had barged into her room with Mikhail in her arms.
Miranda and her twins were there, too. Everyone was feeling very pressured about Audrey’s situation, they didn’t know what to say or what to do.
They were scared about the upcoming gathering that evening.
Audrey shrugged, "Easy. Wait for him to reject me in front of everyone, then, I’ll kill his chosen mate, and cast a live spell on him. We’ll live happily ever after, just like we were supposed to. Everyone will be happy." She smiled brightly at everyone.
They weren’t smiling back at her. They all wore an unsure expression on their faces, but no one dared to tell her that her idea wasn’t ideal. They couldn’t risk upsetting her more in her fragile state.
They all knew what it meant when a mate told you that he was about to reject you. It hurt like hell and they’ve almost witnessed how Audrey struggled from the beginning just to be with Lake.
It wasn’t easy for her, so, they all understood how she felt.
"I hope you’re sure about your decision, Audrey. I didn’t just want you getting hurt," Miranda said.
Audrey smiled, "No one needs to worry about me, you all have worried a lot. Even if I get hurt, it’s okay, it was my choice, I won’t blame any of you for not trying to talk me out of it." She replied.
"So, anyone ready to dress me up for tonight’s gathering?" She asked them.
After a few minutes with them, she left Mikhail with them to go up for a shower in the condo.
She stepped into the living room and saw Lake sitting on the sofa with Mark, his brother.
"Oh, hi, Angel. Been asking this big baby about you but he couldn’t tell me anything," Mark greeted as Audrey approached them.
Audrey’s eyes fell on Lake, who had now faced away from her, avoiding her look.
She scoffed, "He wouldn’t know where I am, since he’s planning to reject me, tonight," She stood in front of Lake and folded her arms over her chest, glaring at him.
Mark looked surprised, "What? Reject? Bro, what’s she talking about?" He asked, raising a brow at Lake.
Lake gave a nonchalant shrug, "You heard her. I can’t make her my Luna." He answered.
Mark gave a humourless laugh, "Okay, why?" He questioned.
"Yeah, why?" Audrey asked, frowning.
Lake slowly lifted his head abs stared at her. He saw the hurt in her eyes, the longing, the confusion, but he simply blinked and maintained his cold demeanour, "She will find out tonight." He said and stood from the sofa, sliding past her and walking up the stairs.
Mark stood and slowly approached her, "Hey, I’m sorry -"
"Don’t be," She gently pushed Mark’s hand away and walked toward the stairs, too.
She couldn’t just let this happen.
Without knowing, she pushed open Lake’s door and walked in to find him shirtless, and heading toward the shower.
She felt her anger melting away as she saw his body, all she just wanted to do was ravish him. She tried reaching out to his wolf but that, too, seemed to be cold towards her.
"What do you want?" Lake turned and asked her with a frown.
"You, Lake. What else?" She questioned, pinning her eyes on his.
Lake remained expressionless, "Leave, Audrey. I need to get ready." He said.
"Ready for what? To reject me?" She whispered, blinking slowly.
Lake sighed and wanted to turn his back on her but she stopped him.
"I’ll leave the pack," she said.
Lake stopped, turning to look at her face with a look of surprise on his.
"Excuse me?" He said.
Audrey nodded, "That’s what you want, right?" She asked.
Audrey slowly walked toward him, her eyes never leaving his. She stood in front of him and raised her hand to his neck, her thumb tracing her mark on his neck.
Lake immediately moved back like he’d been electrocuted, a huge frown appearing on his face.
"You still react to me, baby. Why are you trying to hurt us both? You love me, I mean, I don’t even feel that you don’t, so what’s all this? Why are you fighting so hard to separate us?" She whispered, tearing up.
"You said you’re leaving the pack?" He asked in a calm voice. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Audrey nodded and sighed, "I’ll leave. I’ll accept your rejection and leave, on one condition." She stated, stepping closer to him again.
Lake frowned, "And what could that be?" He questioned.
"Reject me here, now, and I’ll know you mean it. Reject me where it’s just the both of us, looking into my eyes..." She sniffed, her tears falling, "and I will accept it, Lake. I will take my son and walk out of your life. I will close down my wine business which I copied from you because I wanted to hold onto your memory. I will accept your rejection and leave, Lake. Only if you reject me now," She said, her lips trembling as she cried.
Her heart was torn into shreds, leaving nothing but an aching pain that threatened to shatter her from within.
Lake stared at her face as he leaned his face close to her ear, "You’re going nowhere with my son, little witch. Think again, if you think I’d let you." He whispered and stepped away from her.
"Okay, fine!" Audrey grabbed his hand, not letting him go, "Fine, I’ll leave him for you, Lake. I’ve seen you want to strip me of everything I love. Firstly, you, and secondly, my son; he was the only thing that would remind me of you, but if you don’t want me to take him then I won’t. Just reject me right here. In your room, where we’ve made love numerous times. Go ahead, I’ll accept it, and in the blink of an eye, I’m gone, forever." She said, her voice shaky.
Lake stared blankly at her, not saying a word. He was guarding his feelings, refusing to let her words get to him.
"If you don’t reject me now, I’ll give you a heads up..." She tipped her toes and whispered into his ear, "If not now, then never, my Alpha. I’m never accepting your rejection ever. Rather, I’ll make you love me forever, trust me, I’m your little witch," She kissed his cheek and quickly turned away to hide her fear and tears, hurrying out of the room.
Lake stood there for a while and smirked, "We’ll see." He muttered and continued into the bathroom.

Night came, and everyone was heading toward the hall as they’d been instructed by their Alpha.
"You can relax, they don’t know why they’ve been asked to come, no one knows why they’re heading to the hall. So, no one is giving you the look, it’s all in your head," Sandra said to Audrey who was standing in front of the hall.
Alex was by her side, too, frowning, "I don’t get it. What the fuck did he see in the garden that made him want to do this? I’m serious, if he does this, I’m losing my respect for him, and I’m going rogue." He stated angrily.
"Watch your words, cub, you have a mate now, that decision is not entirely yours to make," Andrew came from behind and pulled Alex into himself.
"Well, you better prepare to go rogue with me, then," Alex rolled his eyes.
Andre sighed, "Audrey, have you tried talking to him?" He asked.
Audrey chuckled, "I have. He doesn’t just look at me the same anymore." She replied.
"Let her alone, Andrew. You’re making it worse," Sandra told him.
Audrey suddenly stepped away from her friends, "I accept." She said.
"Um, you accept what?" Sandra asked slowly.
"His rejection. I don’t want to know his reasons anymore, it’s too painful to wait. And, I know I said I was going to make him fall in love with me, maybe I won’t. I’m going to accept his rejection and leave," smashed informed.
Alex and Sandra exchanged a serious look.
"Oh, thank God, you guys are here. Audrey said she is going to accept his rejection," Sandr said to Maria and Mary who had just arrived.
"No, you won’t," Mary said with a frown.
Audrey shook her head, "I will. Forcing someone to love me isn’t ideal... I deserve more than that. I’ve suffered too much to be bound to a forced love. And you know what? I don’t need anyone’s love. A man is not a justification for my happiness. I choose to stay single all my life, and that’s fine. I will accept his rejection, dear friend. Thank you all, for the love and support you’ve shown me from the beginning till date," She hugged each of her friends one after the other had worn a sad smile on her face.
"Maybe I should go in before he arrives and tell everyone why they’ve been summoned," she said and smiled, turning away to walk into the hall.
"Damn, this is bad, this is really bad," Sandra panicked.
