Chapter 79: Chapter 79 - A Dome?

"Obviously, I cannot reveal my full theory. It’s something too valuable to hand over to anyone else, so I have to find another solution," Auran finished his thought, along with the cup of beverage he was drinking. Afterward, he stood up and walked out of the dining room, heading straight for the Exit to find the two golems.

The two crystal cliffs crumbled, and the golems manifested.

"Oh!"

"Eh?"

Seeing Auran, the two showed some surprised movement.

"How may we serve you?" asked the two.

"Must be because of the Mother Crystal," Auran thought to himself.

"Send me outside. And by ’outside,’ I don’t mean the literal outer world, but to one of the circle in the Awakened City," he said.

"Of course. Which district would you like to go to?" asked one of the two after.

"Anything is fine. I just want to go shopping for a bit," Auran answered.

"Then to the fifth floor, where most of the high-end shops are located," said the two golems. Auran agreed, and shortly after, a guiding wind blew and swept Auran away.

At the end of the wind ride, Auran was dropped onto a random street on the fifth floor. Unlike the last time, the blowing wind did not toss Auran around too much and instead landed him smoothly on the ground.

"Like a pet," he muttered as the wind blew away from him.

Afterward, Auran gazed around the street and found the most luxurious-looking shop he could spot, then stepped inside.

"Welcome, sir."

Right as he entered, a young man with a delightful smile and warm words greeted him.

"A warm day today, isn’t it?" said the man, inviting Auran further inside. As Auran stepped in, he noticed that unlike the heat outside, the interior of the shop was actually much cooler—just enough to make him feel comfortable.

"Have you come to buy or sell something, sir?" asked the young man as he guided Auran to one of the comfortable seats inside the shop.

"To buy," said Auran. Then he stated the specific things he needed, which the young man took note of before leaving to fetch the items.

While the man was gone, Auran sat comfortably on the couch, gazing outside through the window of the shop. From time to time, he glanced toward a specific section of the store that displayed rare items.

"The tusk of a beetle horse... and a Bedalan metal sword? To display such rare things so openly, they must have quite the collection in their vault," Auran thought to himself.

"And the confidence they have in their protection methods is remarkable."

Talking about protection—did I store any Blade of Time in my time vault?

Casting the spell, Auran took a moment to check whether he had stored a Blade of Time in it. And in that very moment, unknown to Auran, another guest in the shop turned toward his direction.

It was a young girl who had previously been reading a newspaper. She set it down, looked around curiously, and then locked eyes on Auran.

As soon as she saw him, she instantly stood and walked up to him.

"Hello," she said as she got closer to Auran. Auran’s attention was naturally drawn to her.

"May I?" she asked, pointing at the chair in front of Auran—the one positioned to face him. Although they were called chairs, they were actually round balls of fur that were extremely comfortable to sit on.

"What’s the matter?" asked Auran, curious about the intention of the lady.

"Clara Hemilton, a space magician nearing the completion of my Forging Stage," said the young lady, introducing herself.

After hearing her introduction, Auran’s expression changed.

"A space magician? Well, I’m Auran, a time magician," Auran introduced himself more friendly than he had before. Afterward, the two of them continued to talk as if strangers fated to become friends with each other.

. . . . . . . . . . . .

A giant tree that stood in a forest suddenly began to move strangely—its branches waved without any wind, and dry leaves fell. These falling leaves landed on a figure that had suddenly appeared through space beneath one of the tree’s branches.

As soon as Marian appeared, she quickly got closer to the tree before inspecting her surroundings.

"It’s been a long time, but the thought of the Protectors still lingers in my mind. They aren’t the type to abandon a hunt just because the prey was skilled enough to trick them and disappear," she muttered. After a while of careful inspection, she confirmed there was no one in sight and finally stepped out.

"Who would’ve thought I’d end up here again," she uttered, looking around the familiar space—where she and the group had first entered the Awakened City.

"I hope the direction I remember isn’t wrong," she muttered. She quickly sprang forward and ran through the forest at a fast pace. After a while, she located a road running through the forest and a carriage moving along it. She quickly reached the road and jumped into the carriage without alerting whoever was driving it.

The carriage moved quickly, and after hours of riding, it exited the forest. Marian, seeing signs of life, put her head out of the carriage.

Looking ahead, she saw a huge wall built to enclose a vast area, and inside that area was a well-builded civilization.

In some places along those walls were towers built higher to overlook a wide space—the watchtowers.

"Is this thing heading directly to the border walls?" she pondered, as the carriage she was riding didn’t stop and continued heading toward the giant walls.

And on its way, she saw something she didn’t remember seen before.

"What in the mess is that?" she muttered, looking at a giant round-shaped thing that appeared in her vision from afar. It was located a bit of distance away from the wall, and the round-shaped thing was white in color, spreading across a perfectly circular shape, covering a massive amount of land. Nothing could be seen of what was happening inside the half-sphere, but she noticed guards patrolling around it.

However, as she continued to observe from the moving carriage—which was now slowing down as it approached the walls—she noticed that none of the guards or anything else was able to step into that half-round structure. It was like a giant half-egg planted in the ground. Nothing could be seen inside, and nothing could go inside from the outside—not even animals flying in the sky.

"Is that like a dome or something?" she guessed.
