Heavenly Dragon Doctor Son-in-Law-Chapter 158 - 159: Stop, are you trying to kill the old master?
It was Tang Xuewu supporting Qin Long as he entered. Upon seeing him, the entire Tang family let out a collective sigh of relief. They knew Qin Long might possess some genuine medical skills, even if they were unwilling to admit it.
"Qin Long, you’re finally here!" Tang De rushed forward and grabbed Qin Long’s arm. "You’re the only one who can save Grandfather now. You have to help! He might be overbearing at times, but he’s still Xuewu’s grandfather!"
Everyone else watched Qin Long with breathless anticipation.
"I can give it a try," Qin Long said, glancing around indifferently.
"If you can’t do it, then don’t try to act tough!" Tang Yuxiang snarled, glaring at Qin Long. "Give it a try? Damn you! This is a matter of life and death, not a game! Do you understand? If anything happens to my grandpa, I’ll make you pay!"
"Fine. If you’re so capable, you do it," Qin Long shot back.
"Damn it..." Tang Yuxiang was rendered speechless and clenched his fists, ready to lunge forward.
Tang Sen immediately stopped him. Even the hospital was out of options. Letting Qin Long try was better than just waiting for the old man to die.
"You can proceed," Tang Chuchu huffed from the side. "But if anything happens to Grandfather, you will take full responsibility!"
"Like hell I’ll be responsible!" Qin Long retorted, showing her no courtesy whatsoever. If these were the terms, he would rather not even try.
"If you try to treat him and fail, why shouldn’t you be held responsible?" Tang Yuxiang roared.
"If any of you were actually capable, you wouldn’t have needed me in the first place," Qin Long sneered. "I’ve never seen anyone beg for help with such arrogance. Do you really think I’m that easy to bully? If it weren’t for Xuewu, I wouldn’t have even come today."
Furious, Qin Long turned to leave on his cane.
"Qin Long, wait a minute!" Tang De and Zhang Meilan pleaded anxiously.
Tang Xuewu also grabbed his hand, her eyes filled with desperation. But this time, Qin Long intended to ignore even her request. He had no obligation to save the old man, yet they were making it seem as if he were the one begging for the opportunity. If he succeeded, they would steal the credit. If he failed, they would blame him. Even a man with the patience of a saint would be enraged.
"Qin Long, Yuxiang was just overwrought with anxiety. Don’t take it to heart," Tang Sen said with a placating smile. "If you truly cure him, I, Tang Sen, promise you a generous red envelope."
Tang Sen was Tang De’s younger brother and Xuewu’s second uncle, and he held the highest status in the family after the old man. With his word, the others dared not say more. Tang Yuxiang fell silent, even though he still looked down on Qin Long.
Qin Long waved a hand dismissively, leaning on his cane as he surveyed the Tang family. "All of you, stay quiet. I need complete silence during the treatment."
He gave this cold warning as he entered the sickroom. In truth, his Jiuyang Needle technique was beyond their comprehension. Forget the ordinary members of the Tang family; even the most famous masters in the great nation of Xia wouldn’t understand it, let alone be able to study or learn it. He was only insisting on silence because their attitude had annoyed him. However, when using the golden needles to treat the meridians and heart channels, precision was critical. The slightest disturbance could ruin the entire effort, which was why he was so emphatic.
The Tang family all nodded silently. Qin Long then entered the room, leaning on his cane. The hospital’s experts, hearing he was about to begin, immediately formed a study group and gathered nearby to observe.
Qin Long slowly approached Grandfather Tang’s bed. The old man’s face was ashen, his expression contorted in pain. His breathing was so faint it seemed he might pass away at any moment. Qin Long had someone prepare three alcohol lamps, which he carefully lit and placed on the floor in a triangular formation.
"You want the Tang family to return to its status as a first-class family," Qin Long said quietly, speaking his mind to the unconscious man. "But your idea of relying on others was wrong from the very start. Back then, Tang Rulan relied on her own strength and the unity of the family to bring it to its peak. You should be focused on cultivating your own descendants, not scheming to use a marriage alliance to curry favor with the Wang Family. It’s utterly shortsighted."
With a wave of his hand, nine golden needles appeared, hovering in perfect unison over the alcohol lamps. They glowed with a golden light, looking truly extraordinary.
"For Xuewu’s sake, I will save you this one last time. After this, the fate of you and the Tang family is no longer my concern." As soon as he finished speaking, Qin Long moved to retrieve the needles.
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
A series of urgent footsteps echoed from outside. A man in his sixties wearing a gray robe walked in slowly, flanked by Wang Ming and the members of the Tang family. This was the master of medicine Wang Ming had tried to invite last time: Mu Daochun.
Even in Jiang Tian Province, Mu Daochun’s name was legendary. Countless business tycoons and financial magnates treated him as a guest of honor. Ordinary people had no means of requesting his services. Wang Ming had been too late before, but after receiving Tang Yuxiang’s call, he had personally chartered a private jet to bring Mu Daochun here.
When the Tang family saw Mu Daochun, they looked as if they had just seen a Medical Immortal. Who was Mu Daochun? He was the one and only genuine Medical Saint of Jiang!
And Qin Long? It was still debatable whether he even knew acupuncture. Now that Mu Daochun was here, what use did they have for this imposter?
"Is this... Gold Needle Crossing Points?" Mu Daochun asked, striding in with an air of superiority. But when he saw the golden needles in Qin Long’s hand, his expression flickered with surprise.
Qin Long looked at him coolly without saying a word.
"Where did this street charlatan come from, daring to impersonate a Golden Needle expert?" Mu Daochun questioned coldly, his gaze full of disdain. "You haven’t used the needles on Grandfather Tang yet, have you?"
"Not yet," Qin Long answered honestly.
"Hmph. It’s a good thing I arrived in time," Mu Daochun declared with cold arrogance, giving Qin Long a contemptuous glance. "If you had inserted those needles, not even a Daluo Golden Immortal could have saved him."
"Qin Long, get out of the way! Can’t you see the Medical Saint, Mu Daochun, has arrived?" Tang Yuxiang shouted as he grabbed Qin Long’s cane and tossed it aside.
Tang Xuewu immediately moved to shield Qin Long, stepping between him and Tang Yuxiang. "A-Long, I’m so sorry..." she said, holding his hand and trying to comfort him.
"Don’t worry about it. Since the Medical Saint is here, it just means your grandfather is a fortunate man," Qin Long replied, gently patting her hand. He didn’t care in the slightest. If Mu Daochun could really cure the old man, he would be happy to not have to bother.
"Hah! And this cripple pretends to be a master?" Wang Ming scoffed disdainfully.
"Medical Saint Mu Daochun, I’m begging you, you must save our grandfather!" Tang Sen pleaded with the utmost respect and sincerity.
"Of course," Mu Daochun replied. "Out of respect for Young Master Wang, I will certainly cure the old man."
