Heavenly Dragon Doctor Son-in-Law-Chapter 172 - 173: Only Xuewu Can Handle the Order!
Li Cong was also dumbfounded. Who the hell is this Young Master Wang? At that moment, he was incredibly frustrated. He had originally thought that simply signing the agreement would be enough to compensate for Li Min’s disrespect toward Qin Long, and he hadn’t wanted to waste any more words. Now, however, he was beginning to understand Qin Long’s predicament. It seemed his treatment within the Tang Family was terrible.
With a sudden flash of inspiration, Li Cong decided to reveal Qin Long’s involvement.
"If not Young Master Wang, then who could it be?" Old Master Tang asked, equally confused. After all, everyone understood this gesture was clearly meant to curry favor with the Tang Family. However, the Li and Tang families had no prior dealings, so why would they suddenly offer such a surefire, profitable project? The Tangs would never believe it unless there was a powerful figure pulling the strings.
Li Cong subconsciously glanced at Qin Long. He wouldn’t dare say a word unless Qin Long spoke first. He knew how difficult it had been to get Qin Long to stop suppressing the Li Family. If he angered him again, the family might truly be annihilated.
"I’m the one who had Li Cong offer this deal." At this, Qin Long scanned the room, his gaze settling on Old Master Tang with an indifferent expression.
BOOM!
Everyone was instantly dumbstruck, staring at Qin Long with mouths agape and eyes wide in astonishment. Although some expressed contempt, clearly in disbelief, the sheer confidence Qin Long exuded made them pause and reconsider.
"Qin Long, would it kill you to not show off for one day?" Tang Yuxiang snapped. "Last time you claimed the big order from the Yaolong Group was your doing, and now you’re boasting that the Li Family partnership is your handiwork too. Why don’t you just fly into the sky and become the Divine Dragon while you’re at it?
"Next, you’ll be telling us that if you wished it, even the most powerful consortium in Jiang City would come begging our Tang Family for a partnership!"
His face contorted with displeasure, Tang Yuxiang furiously smashed his teacup on the ground.
"The most powerful consortium? So what!" Qin Long waved his hand dismissively, his expression full of disdain.
If he, Qin Long, so wished, even the most formidable martial arts family in Jiang Tian Province would have to bow in submission. Xiao Lingyue could make that happen at any moment.
"What an absolute fool!" Tang Yuxiang turned to Li Cong. "Mr. Li, he’s an idiot. He was insane for three years and has only recently gotten a bit better. Don’t pay any attention to him. How about we discuss the details of our upcoming collaboration?" he asked, his tone suddenly respectful.
"My apologies, Young Master Yuxiang, but this agreement must be signed by Miss Tang Xuewu."
Li Cong’s blunt rejection left Tang Yuxiang dumbfounded, frozen on the spot. The other Tang Family members looked on with unconcealed mockery. Tang Yuxiang was used to throwing his weight around, so it was satisfying to see him taken down a peg.
Hearing Li Cong’s words, Tang Yuxiang was at a loss, stammering, "Mr. Li... why?"
"Because from the very beginning, I came here to offer this deal specifically to repay Young Master Qin’s kindness. To put it another way, if Young Master Qin weren’t part of the Tang Family, I, Li Cong, would never have set foot in here to seek a partnership. This is all because of him!" Li Cong declared, pouring out everything he had been holding back.
Hearing this, Tang Yuxiang was once again left standing there dumbly, his face a mask of shock and confusion, while the other Tangs looked at Qin Long with puzzled expressions. The big order from the Yaolong Group might have had nothing to do with Qin Long, but this partnership with the Li Family was definitely because of him. After all, the words had come directly from Li Cong’s mouth. They had always insulted and looked down on Qin Long. Thinking about it now, they were overwhelmed with shame.
"So, Old Master Tang, are we proceeding with this cooperation or not?" Li Cong’s expression suddenly turned cold as he swept his gaze over the crowd. Although the Li Family was not on par with the Tang Family, the gap wasn’t that large. Besides, Li Cong didn’t need to grovel; he was only here to curry favor with Qin Long.
Hearing this, Old Master Tang immediately forced a smile. "Of course, we’ll proceed, Brother Li." The Tang Family was desperately in need of partnerships, and he wouldn’t let any opportunity slip by.
"Only Miss Xuewu can sign it. Do you agree?" Li Cong pressed.
"This..." Old Master Tang pondered for a moment before gritting his teeth and slapping his thigh. "Of course, no problem! We’ll let Xiaowu be in charge."
And so, the project once again fell into Tang Xuewu’s hands. She was completely bewildered as she slowly looked toward Qin Long, but she could read nothing in his calm eyes. Qin Long hadn’t said a single word throughout the entire exchange, yet Li Cong had arranged everything perfectly. She felt an invisible sense of Qin Long’s charisma; without him having to say a word, someone was there to handle everything for him.
"Miss Xuewu, please press your thumbprint here," Li Cong said respectfully.
"Oh..." Tang Xuewu was conflicted. She had done nothing, yet she was securing a huge profit, as if it were being eagerly handed to the Tang Family on a silver platter. The last major order from the Yaolong Group had already left her feeling uneasy, and now that it was happening again, she felt an urge to refuse. She didn’t share the snobbish and profit-obsessed mindset of the other Tangs.
"Xiaowu, just press your thumbprint," Qin Long said, passing the red ink pad to her.
Tang Xuewu couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being pitied. In reality, being able to do something for Qin Long was a blessing Li Cong was lucky to receive in ten lifetimes.
"Alright." Seeing Qin Long’s resolute gaze, Tang Xuewu hesitated no longer.
Even though she signed, she felt that Qin Long had truly changed. She just didn’t know if this change was for the better or for the worse...
"Young Master Qin, Miss Xuewu, Old Master Tang, I have other matters to attend to, so I must leave. We must have a good drink together another day!" Li Cong said, his mood so uplifted he looked like he might jump for joy.
Even though he’d lost a lot of money this time, he had established a connection with Qin Long. The Li Family’s fate might not soar, but at least it wouldn’t be annihilated. Sometimes, you have to lose money to avert disaster!
「The Tang Family’s Old Courtyard.」
As soon as Li Cong left, the courtyard fell deathly silent. Everyone looked at Qin Long with puzzled expressions. Could they really believe that this crippled fool, who had been useless for three years, possessed such power? Today had been utterly shocking.
"The Li Family is nothing compared to us Tangs. What’s there to be so smug about?" Tang Yuxiang seethed, his face full of disdain. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Qin Long paid the idiot no mind, as he already had a clear understanding of Tang Yuxiang’s character.
"Tang Yuxiang, it’s easy for you to talk when you have nothing to lose!" Tang Xuewu glared, biting her red lip as she stared coldly at him. "No matter what, the Li Family offered this partnership because of Qin Long. Nobody can deny that!"
"So I’m not allowed to speak now?" Tang Yuxiang retorted, his eyes wide with arrogance as he prepared to argue his case. "I’ll be damned if I believe it was because of Qin Long..."
He was furious. This glory should have been his, but now Tang Xuewu had snatched it away thanks to Qin Long. He couldn’t tolerate someone else succeeding where he should have.
"You brat, shut your mouth right now!" Old Master Tang suddenly hurled a teacup, smashing it on the ground right next to Tang Yuxiang.
BANG!
Tea splashed everywhere, making Tang Yuxiang jump in fright.
"Grandfather, what are you doing?"
