Heavenly Opposers-Chapter 277 - 276-I Am Better.
’Well, I will have to deal with the problems as they come.’
Azrail mused as he looked at the knocked-out mother-in-law of his, her sleeping face looking gentle and happy, the first one he had seen in all the times he had seen her. This expression was something Azrail had never gotten to see for himself in his first life. As he thought so, the door to the room opened up.
Valencia, in all her glory, walked in, her eyes falling on her sleeping mother. An expression of relief and a hint of happiness filled her face at the situation. Valencia had lived all her life with her mother, keeping a strong front in front of her, trying to protect her in the cage they were locked up in. After those times, she had never seen her mother relax, not even once.
"She finally seems relaxed."
Valencia spoke out, to which Azrail nodded his head.
"It’s one of the side effects of what she lives through. The sight of seeing the whole world as your enemy is not easy to get over at all."
Valencia remained silent at the words as she walked up to Azrail, who took hold of her hand, tightening around it as reassurance as Valencia spoke.
"How would she be when she wakes up?"
"That I can’t speak for. She might return to a much more gentle side, or she might have her changes. What I am worried about is the second awakening the personality will give her."
Azrail’s words made Valencia frown as she walked up to her mother. Seeing her relaxed face only made Valencia feel happy in her heart as she placed a light kiss on her mother’s cheek as she spoke.
"Sleep well, mother."
She whispered, wishing her mother the best sleep she would be having in a long, long time. Valencia turned to look at Azrail, who was giving her a small, gentle smile. The floating stone deep within Valencia’s soul, hidden under extreme layers of protection, had more cracks on it now, the leaking energy and emotions just washing over Valencia again as she muttered.
"It would seem the best decision I made in my life was coming here."
A chuckle for the first time left her mouth as Valencia walked forward to hug Azrail as she muttered.
"Thank you for this."
Hearing this, Azrail, with a smile, patted the back of Valencia as he replied.
"For you, this is nothing at all."
His being conveyed his feelings right back to Valencia, who smiled at him. The emotions flowing through her marked her mind. The path of beginning that was used finally placed its member’s bit by bit as Valencia’s eyes flashed deep obsession for a moment, one so deep and uncalled for that it came from times that cannot be marked, but those eyes went as fast as they came.
Azrail, having picked that, spiked for a moment, but before he could grasp the feelings from Valencia, they disappeared. To which Azrail asked.
"Valencia, you okay?"
His words brought Valencia out of her daze as, she replied.
"Yes, I am fine. Just a bit tired from all the work I am doing. After all, for the great reveal of the alliance I am building, it has to be perfect."
Azrail nodded in an understanding manner, his eyes, though, held a deeper meaning to them as he spoke.
"So, are you going to wait till she wakes up?"
To this question, Valencia shook her head, a very mischievous idea born from the feelings that had influenced her, the changes in her own mind going unnoticed even by her, and Adia living deep within her as Valencia replied.
"No, I still have a lot left to do. You keep her company. When she wakes up, you are the best person to see how it’s all going with her."
To her words, Azrail nodded his head, his eyes catching the emotions flowing through her. While he had the full authority to peek into her mind, he kept those interests in check, as Azrail replied.
"Sure, I will do that."
With that, Valencia left the room a bit different from how she had entered inside it. Azrail’s gaze focused on her back until she left, then his gaze focused back on Raena, her sexiness now fully flowing all over her body, while the constant hints of just ravaging her filled his mind, but Azrail kept it in check.
’This is very dangerous, and she needs to get control of it as soon as possible.’
As Azrail thought of this, he went back to his same seat as before, taking a seat as he closed his eyes, his mind just playing through his plans again.
...
Thus, time passed. An hour after which, Raena started to slowly wake up from her sleep, her mind more open and welcoming than ever before. It was as if a fog had cleared away from her mind as Raena slowly opened her eyes, first focusing on the ceiling in front of her as she thought.
’The day is... good.’
A thought came to her mind for the first time in her life. Since her mind had been taken over by hatred and paranoia, she never showed it, but Raena was always being threatened by a deep sense of paranoia towards the world, a sense that everyone was her enemy and that they needed to be dealt with as soon as possible.
Those emotions had only continued to grow, which Raena had kept in check while trying to live some sort of normal life, but those thoughts had only continued to grow, with whispers of her own words from a different mind kept whispering into her ears to just let her rage loose, to just let the world know her anger and hatred.
It had taken some control and lessening once she started to hang around Lan which felt a much more open life, but even then, it started to grow bit by bit, slowly consuming her. Only the effects of alcohol kept her mind at least at ease a bit, lowering the rounds of her own voice asking for blood. And now, for the first time in years, Raena woke up feeling like herself.

"How do you feel?"
The sudden question brought Raena out of her daze, her eyes turning sideways to see her son-in-law sitting a bit away from her, looking at her from top to bottom. His eyes, different from those blood-red ones before that held hate, which had disappeared. Only those soaking eyes that even felt hypnotic to her were left, ones that looked even more hypnotic to her now.
"What did you do?"
Raena asked, her voice much softer and more controlled than before. She slowly raised herself from her sleeping position, sitting upright as she rubbed her own head, Raena still very confused, rubbing her head softly as she focused her gaze on Azrail, who was smiling at her, his gaze comforting as Azrail spoke.
"I just helped to get rid of the fog that was covering your head, making it easier for your own personality to come through, one that was being suppressed."
His words made Raena nod her head as she felt herself up, feeling the changes in her both mentally and physically as she replied.
"I feel refreshed."
She muttered, to which Azrail replied.
"That’s normal. Just take your time and find yourself back."
Raena nodded at Azrail’s words, her gaze then turning very sorrowful as she looked at Azrail as she asked.
"Just what have you gone through in your life?"
Her words contain a lot of emotions, ones that resemble someone who has gone through similar pain. Her question made Azrail smile a weak one as he replied.
"Just another victim of the world, same as you."
