Hell's Actor-Chapter 55: Series Finale
Chapter 55: Series Finale
Viewers of NeRen’s Chilled Dessert were surprised to see Averie as one of the guests, and they were quick to notice the overdressed members and the difference in treatment.
- Holy shit!
- How did they even get him there?
- None of the BSPH main cast is going on any shows. How did NeRen invite him?
- How lucky. They get to meet Asmodeus Binsfeld in the flesh...
- Damn, he is hot.
- He sounds overconfident, doesn’t he? What a prick.
- Narcissist asshole!
- How dare he stand next to Sunny! Get away!
- I love Salted Chocolate Tarts. In fact, It tastes best with some marijuana.
- I want to eat that.
- I want to hit that.
- I want to fuck them all.
- One man, eight women. What an unfair world...
- Man, the cameraman really loves Su-Bin’s ass, doesn’t he?
- What’s with those clothes?
- They really dolled up for this.
- Favoritism at its best.
- You are just horny, dear.
- Poor Su-Bin. She is totally ignored :(
- Su-Bin was in the video?
It was Friday evening.
In Hyerin’s room, Averie was lounging around watching the video.
"Put down the phone, Averie," Hyerin said.
She put down on the table three boxes of pizza she had just received.
"The show will start soon."
She wanted to reprimand him harshly for all the mischief he had caused over the week, but she couldn’t as the two were joined by a special guest.
"Is it really fine for me to be here?"
It was none other than the actress of Sarah Raguel, Ellie Arnold.
"Of course," Hyerin enthusiastically uttered. "We are happy to have you."
The girl was starting to worry that she would soon become as crazy as Averie if she did not socialize with normal people.
And Ellie—compared to Averie—behaved a hundred times normal.
"It would have been nice to gather at a restaurant." The smell of cheese pervaded the air as Hyerin opened one of the boxes. "But with Averie’s popularity, there would be no end to rumors and onlookers. We would only cause trouble for the establishment."
She glared at her friend.
"And this guy doesn’t like wearing a mask. If we are not careful and you two are seen alone, it might start dating rumors. Those things are tiring."
"Relax, Rin." Averie patted her shoulder. "If it came to it, I would just marry Ellie."
"You would?!" Ellie yelled, surprised and bothered.
But unlike her, Hyerin only shook her head.
"Yeah, sure. Go ahead, marry her."
Averie looked at her with a disgruntled expression.
"You are no fun."
"Whose fault is that? And why did you not invite anyone else?"
"What, you wanted to spend the evening with those old men? I wouldn’t give them a minute of my life."
Even Hyerin was impressed by how quickly Averie got a big head.
"You really abandoned your co-stars quick, huh? That is Impressive. Will you abandon me like that too?"
"Oh, come on, Rin." Averie looked offended. "Why would I do that? You are not an old man."
"Wow, will you abandon me when I am old, then?"
Averie laughed nervously.
Getting old was not in his plans.
"What do I always say, Rin?"
Hyerin looked confused.
"I—I don’t know."
"Yeah, I don’t say it out loud. Anyway, I always say: Let’s live like it’s the last day on earth. So, don’t think about getting old."
’Think about dying early.’
"You really know how to make a girl feel special..."
"Man of many talents, I am," he whispered. "What a tragedy you don’t recognize my brilliance."
One thing led to another, and soon, they talked about how much their lives had changed.
"Do you get recognized a lot too, Ms. Arnold?" Hyerin asked.
"Yes. Practically, everyone takes a second look at me before calling me Sarah." She shrunk in her seat. "It is embarrassing."
Averie bit into a slice of pizza.
"What’s embarrassing about being popular?"
To Averie, being praised and revered was as normal as breathing.
"Well..." Ellie blushed. "You know how much Sarah was exposed."
Her voice sounded extraordinarily quiet.
"So what?"
Averie rolled up a pizza slice, lit the tip, and smoked it like a cigar just out of curiosity.
’Couldn’t be more harmful than tobacco.’
"You did a wonderful job of portraying the character. No need to be ashamed of that. Enjoy yourself while you are still sexy, my charming mistress."
Ellie laughed like a little girl.
"You think so?"
The room smelled of burned cheese.
It was awful, and Hyerin was quick to douse the burning slice of pizza.
Ellie gushed over Averie’s portrayal of Asmodeus.
"I cried while watching the sixth episode. Seeing Asmodeus die was just so sad. I had shivers all over."
Hyerin glanced at the two chatting happily.
’Am I the third wheel here?’
That was a lonely feeling.
"Compared to that, today’s episode will be more popular."
He was right.
The hype for the finale had broken every record in the last ten years.
The past week had seen unprecedented enthusiasm for such a short drama series.
#SickFriday was trending because of the working men and women who took a day off from work to enjoy the drama and the weekend fully.
Popular public figures like movie stars, directors, writers, athletes, and even scummy politicians were posting about it.
It was a festive day.
And soon, the seventh episode—the finale of the drama—began without the opening sequence.
As the intro song played in the background, drowned by the noise of heavy rain, Sarah appeared on the screen.
Unable to contact Asmodeus, she had returned to the mansion in a hurry.
As she tried calling him on his phone again, only one worry plagued her heart.
Was she abandoned again?
She entered the mansion, her escort of men watching from a distance.
But right away, a shrill scream rang out.
The men rushed over and witnessed the horrible bloodbath on the first floor.
Bodies were everywhere.
Colleagues riddled with bullets were strewn around like animal carcasses.
One of the men rushed out to vomit. And one other tried to call someone frantically.
Sarah saw the housekeeper lying in that mess.
"No, no, no, no, no..."
With shaky legs, she took the stairs and climbed up to the second-floor bedroom.
Some of the men followed her.
With a weak push, the unlocked door opened.
A brutally beaten and bruised torso entered her sight first. She saw the sheets that were splattered with red and the carpet that had soaked liters of blood.
Fearful of what she may find, she raised her eyes and saw what remained of the head.
Too gory to be shown on the screen, it remained out of frame.
It evoked nothing but silence from Sarah.
She didn’t even know why she wasn’t screaming, but her entire world had fallen apart.
There it lay, the body of her lover.
Meanwhile, Lucifer had just received a call in his office.
It was from Policeman Butler.
As he listened to the voice of the heavily breathing policeman, his face turned awfully serious.
He opened the top drawer of his desk.
Inside lay a silver pistol.
Lucifer, with a grave face, picked it up.
The screen turned black for a second, and the opening sequence began.
It wasn’t the sequence that people had grown familiar with.
For the finale, while keeping the intro song the same, they had prepared a special sequence.
Even though there was no rain in his gray world, a man was shown walking with an umbrella in hand.
He wasn’t being chased, nor was he chasing anyone.
It was Asmodeus waiting for someone.
