Chapter 19: Ticking Bomb

Zorat was quite intrigued with this discovery he had made about the woman sitting beside him.

A desire to be spontaneously confined with a hot dude, with no way out, was quite straightforward in translation, but fulfilling such a desire won’t be as direct as it appears.

First, he was curious as to how such a deeply buried desire came to be in the first place. Was it a fetish? Or simply an experience she’s craved after seeing or being told about it. He felt the story behind it would be especially tantalizing.

For Zorat to fulfill this desire, which is very necessary so his third sub-authority could come into play, he needs to do his best and prepare a setting that properly aligns with this quirky young lady’s desires, and unequivocally make himself the subject of that fulfillment.

In other words, Zorat had to find a way to confine himself and Erica in an enclosed space, or something similar to that pattern. And then make the situation real enough that there would be no means of escape.

He wasn’t certain what Erica’s definition of a ’hot dude’ meant, but he was ready to take a gamble because every other one of her present desires could not be fulfilled, or at least fulfilled in a short amount of time.

Zorat could progressively fabricate in her a need that could blossom into a desire. This is one of the loopholes of his sub-authority. However, doing this would take time, and her already unraveled desire seems simple enough.... and doable.

This will take some work.....

But it’s worth it. Hehehe.

Zorat took a moment to observe Erica. Her sun-kissed hair and verdant eyes. The way her blue banquet gown sagged just below her shoulders, highlighting her flawless skin, collarbone, and a gently heaving cleavage.

The size is alright... Could be bigger...

But it’s alright. Hehehe.

Zorat was grinning into his wine cup, which seemed to have grabbed Erica’s attention.

She smiled as she asked, confused."What ?. What’s so funny, Caleb?"

"I don’t know...it’s a secret." Zorat threw her a mischievous grin.

"Suit yourself then.... Since you like keeping secrets so much... don’t talk to me for the rest of the evening." Erica said with a pout, turning away from Zorat.

"Do you know ... you are even more cute when you pout like that."

"Hmph...tease." Erica snorted in response as her cheeks flushed crimson.

She felt Caleb had a way with words and was so comfortable talking to him. It also helps that he’s quite handsome with striking eyes.

Even though he’s not her ideal type, since she prefers bad boys. She still couldn’t help but blush at the things he said and the way he looked at her.

Moreover, she already has a boyfriend, so it’s just friendly banter.

Though Erica wondered why such a person with such an inviting personality wasn’t popular on campus. ’I guess you never really know someone until you interact with them,’ she concludes in her mind as she smiles, looking at Zorat.

Broddy, who was sitting by the side, paused his eating. He felt something seemed off with the conversation between those two. The way Erica would laugh so loudly at Caleb’s cheesy jokes, he didn’t think it was even that funny.

And the way they would make needless physical contact, whispering into each other’s ears.

Something felt .... Wrong. But he couldn’t quite place his hands on what exactly.

So he returned to devouring the food in front of him.

Zorat paused his acting as he suddenly felt a powerful bloodlust leaking from somewhere.

At first, he thought it might be the same person from before, but this one felt fundamentally different, primal...monstrous even. But most importantly... it wasn’t directed at Zorat this time...It was directed at Erica.

And at the other side of this bloodlust was someone who looked like a cute bunny in glasses.

Ah... not this girl again.

Zorat recognized Ava was the one leaking this enormous amount of bloodlust, and no matter how perceptively veiled one might be, it was quite obvious to discern what was going on here.

Ava couldn’t take her eyes off Zorat and Erica being all chubby together. She showed no outward reaction, even intermittently responding to questions posed by Jacob, seated beside her.

She must have something with this body....

Should I just .... quiet her.....

...permanently?

I know what type of creature she becomes.

Zorat had experienced one such as Ava. They were possessive, obsessive, and emotionally unstable. A ticking bomb that could at any point mess up his properly curated plans.

should I do it now before this gets worse?

Hmmm....

"Caleb ?. Where did your mind wander off to ?. Why aren’t you answering ?" Erica interrupted Zorat’s calm thoughts with a tilt of her head.

"Pardon me, princess... You were saying ?"

"Shhh... don’t let the actual princess hear you call me a princess like that!" She protested, covering Zorat’s lips with her palms, but the blush on her cheeks told a different story.

"Why don’t we go get some air ... it’s too stuffed in here," Zorat recommended.

The banquet had already died down, with almost all the ministers now gone. Only the heroes were still eating and discussing.

The princess and her friend had moved to a private Boujee dinner setting in the corner of the large hall.

Nothing else was presently more important to Zorat than getting his hands on the divine authority fragments. However, he would allow himself a bit of fun in the process.

He now has to ingrain a deep sense of trust in Erica for himself. That way, when he orchestrates a plan that perfectly meets her desire... he could lead her there more easily and naturally. Making it seem accidental and spontaneous.

"Sure. I was feeling a little cramped myself..." Erica replied, enthused. Then she turned to Broddy.

"Baby. Would you like to join us outside as well ?"

"No, you go first. I will leave later with Jacob." Broddy replied simply and returned to what he was doing.

"Alright. Let’s go, Caleb," Erica said casually as she waved to Ariana at the other end of the table before standing to follow behind Caleb, who had his hands casually in his pockets.

But just as they were about to exit, as they walked and talked in light conversations, a stern but feminine voice broached their conversation from behind.

"Her highness, Princess Elowen, demands your presence..."

"...Hero of item box."

Zorat turned to see...it was the royal knight commander.
