Chapter 179: The End of The Workload

It was incredibly hard to explain.

Just as Damien decided to simply say that it had worked out, he heard Elyric who was now awake call him out from behind.

"Stinks monkey! Where are you, stinks monkey?!"

"... Stinks Monkey, huh? It seems my brother doesn’t like you very much. Well, of course... There was no way a plan like this could ever work."

Elyon gave a slightly sad, bitter smile as he heard Elyric’s voice drifting through the open door.

"I’m sorry for putting you through such an unpleasant experience. I will definitely make it up to you."

Ah... no, when he said monkey, he didn’t mean it like that...

Come to think of it, he never told Elyric his name before.

Ahh, this is so hard to explain!

"Monkey♡ So, you were here... Don’t leave me all alone and wander off."

"See♡ My little penis is hard again, so let’s do it once more♡"

As Damien was lost in his thoughts, Elyric found him and started coming over.

Then, with a complete naked body that was covered in their semen, he got his cute little penis hard and clung to Damien as he stood by the door.

"Huh? What’s wrong, stinks monkey? Why are you silent? You still want to stick your big monkey penis in my ass, huh?"

"Don’t be so stiff, it’s just a joke, darling~"

When he saw Damien’s face he realized that he currently staring at Elyon who is utterly dumbfounded.

"E...Elyric?"

His younger brother who he knew very well, was now looked like a completely different person.

"Ah, Brother? Why are you here...?! Oh, right?!"

Elyric, after a moment of shock, scrambled back into the room, clearly embarrassed by his appearance.

Damien was left staring at the now-closed door, his mind racing.

"Damien? What on earth...?"

"Well, uh, it’s the result of a very loving... experience," Damien replied, choosing his words carefully.

Damien couldn’t help but think Elyric was too cute for his own good.

...

"...I’m sorry."

After cleaning up and borrowing one of Damien’s sleeping shirts, which Elyric seemed delighted to wear, Elyric was taken home by his brother.

As they left, Elyric had promised to return as soon as possible as he finished his teleportation spell, and tears began to welling up in his eyes.

Damien had almost cried himself.

The next day, Damien received a letter from Elyric, however, It was written in a script that Damien couldn’t read.

He was also informed by Elyon that there would likely be more visitors soon.

Damien couldn’t help but feel a little bit overwhelmed.

This so-called "population control" plan seemed to be backfiring spectacularly.

...

Damien unintentionally flung the charcoal pencil in his hand.

It was something he had borrowed from Theo, but that thought didn’t even cross his mind.

"It’s overrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!"

Overcome with relief, he couldn’t help but shout. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

It was finally over.

As he gazed at the towering stack of documents he’d just finished, the realization sank in.

This was it... the end of the numbers nightmare.

How many days had passed since he started helping out? He didn’t even want to remember.

But finally, the days when everything seemed to look like numbers were behind him.

Although the overall task still needed a little more time, his part was finished with this mountain of papers.

It seemed like the others would wrap up their portions by the end of the day as well.

"You have done a great job, Damien."

Theo who had finished his share earlier and was now tackling lower-priority documents, looked up and gave him a smile.

Today, being the final day, Damien had been working in Theo’s office as they also discussed plans going forward.

"Ah, sorry, I acted like I did something big when I barely helped," he muttered, feeling a bit embarrassed as he went to pick up the charcoal pencil he’d thrown.

Since he wasn’t proficient with the abacus, they had greatly reduced his workload compared to the others. What he had completed was just a small fraction.

Still, he felt like avoiding numbers for a while.

The ones who had carried the bulk of the work were truly amazing.

"Not at all, you were really a great help, Damien. Besides, your real job is just starts now."

Right.

Now that the tax data for the domain had been compiled, his job was to analyze it. He needed to use spreadsheet software to calculate averages, growth rates, and comparisons with other domains, essentially preparing statistical data.

Originally, he was only supposed to prepare documents related to corruption cases. However, after explaining what the spreadsheet software could do, Theo and Sebas started making requests. Eventually, he ended up compiling the overall data.

Using formulas he hadn’t learned before, Damien managed to piece everything together with the help of a digital processing manual on his tablet.

It had been tough, but Damien found some enjoyment in piecing it all together like a puzzle.

It even felt like a good break from the daily grind of chasing numbers.

"For now, the data compilation starts tomorrow. Take it easy and rest today," Theo told him.

"Thanks. You too, Theo. Don’t overdo it," Damien replied.

Theo nodded his head with a smile, but Damien knew how serious he could be. The fact that Theo didn’t verbally promise made Damien a little worried.

After resting for a bit, Damien decided to check in and make sure Theo wasn’t overworking. Thankfully, Sebas often stepped in subtly when things went too far, so Damien could intervene without hesitation.

With those thoughts, Damien crawled into bed for a short nap... only to sleep through the evening and wake up the next morning, skipping dinner entirely.

The day after the compilation was done, Damien began working on organizing the data.

Initially, he, Theo, Sebas, and Leonide double-checked the formulas on a few villages’ data to ensure there were no errors.

Once it was confirmed to be fine, Damien continued inputting the compiled data. Summarizing all the data within the Dalehaven family’s territory would still take considerable time.

He was a little worried about the battery on his tablet lasting, but Theo had some ideas he wanted to test.
