Help, I'm in Another World and All the Men Are So Hot! [BL]-Chapter 241: Preparing for Dormitory Life
While he didn’t have much to pack or prepare himself, he wondered if Leonide and the others could manage everything in such a short timeframe.
Just as he was about to ask, Theo dropped another surprise.
"Oh, and by the way, Sebas won’t be accompanying you to the dormitory, so keep that in mind."
"What!?" Damien couldn’t help but exclaim.
W-what? How was that going to work?
Damien’s life in this new world hadn’t been very long yet, but throughout most of it, Sebas had been there.
Perhaps after Theo, Sebas was the person who had spent the most time with him.
From the very first day Damien arrived at the mansion, Sebas had been there to help him with everything.
And now, the thought of Sebas not being around... Could Damien really manage without him?
"Damien, don’t make such a face," Theo said with a wry smile.
It seemed Damien’s despair was written all over his face.
"S-sorry. I’ve been relying on Sebas for so much, and I’m worried about how I’ll manage without him," Damien admitted.
"I understand how you feel," Theo replied sympathetically. "But if Sebas were to move to the dormitory as well, it would cause problems for the management of our household."
Ah, that made sense.
Unlike Damien, who was a noble in name only, Theo’s family was a true noble house, with lands and many retainers to manage.
Losing someone as capable as Sebas from their operations would surely be a significant blow.
Damien remembered hearing about how even when Sebas had been entirely focused on caring for him, the household’s affairs had experienced delays.
If Sebas were to leave the estate entirely, it would be a major problem.
"So, Sebas won’t be coming to the dormitory with you," Theo explained. "However, you won’t be too far apart. There will be times when Sebas visits the dormitory, and you can always come back to the mansion to see him. There’s no need to worry so much."
Theo’s words were meant to reassure Damien, but it wasn’t just Damien who looked uneasy.
Following Theo’s gaze, he noticed that everyone else in the room—aside from Theo and Sebas—also seemed worried.
Of course, it made sense.
The prospect of losing Sebas’s constant presence was unsettling for everyone.
Damien understood that feeling all too well.
"We’ve been relying on Sebas a little too much," Damien said, trying to rally the group. "This is a good opportunity for all of us in the Crowell family to prove we can manage even without Sebas. Don’t worry—if we all work together, there’s nothing we can’t do."
In moments like this, Damien knew he had to step up as their Master.
Damien felt a twinge of anxiety, but he truly believed they would manage as long as everyone worked together.
After all, while no one could compare to Sebas’s capabilities, the others were all remarkably talented in their own ways.
If they combined their efforts, they could surely overcome any challenge. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
...The real issue, Damien thought, was probably himself.
He resolved to do his best.
"I’m glad to see you’re feeling up to the task, Damien," Theo said with a pleased expression. "I was hoping to ask something of you, and it seems like you’re ready for it."
There was something unsettling about Theo’s tone.
"W-what is it you’d like to ask?" Damien asked nervously.
"I’d like for you—and by extension, the Crowell household—to take on the management of the dormitory. What do you think?"
What?
No way.
Absolutely not.
Managing a dormitory was far beyond anything Damien thought he could handle.
He swallowed his immediate refusal, forcing himself to stay calm.
Closing his eyes for a moment, he steadied his thoughts before looking over at Leonide, Lysander, Lucian, and Lorenzo.
"What do you think, Leonide, Lysander, Lucian, Lorenzo? Could we do it?" Damien asked.
Theo hadn’t asked Damien alone to manage the dormitory—he had addressed the entire Crowell household.
That meant Damien’s first step should be consulting with his loyal retainers.
The four of them huddled together, whispering among themselves for a moment before Leonide stepped forward to speak on their behalf.
"First, we’d like to confirm the scale of the dormitory and the number of residents," Leonide said.
Details like that would probably need to come from either Theo or Sebas, but Damien understood that this was more about his role as a leader.
His retainers were looking to him to take charge and negotiate with other nobles when necessary.
That’s my job, Damien thought.
For the sake of my retainers, I need to step up.
"Theo, could you tell us about the size of the dormitory and the number of students living there?" Damien asked.
It felt a little bit roundabout, but Damien decided to treat this as a kind of practice—perhaps a rehearsal for future responsibilities.
Maybe Leonide and the others wanted him to fully understand his role as their lord.
He resolved to give it his all.
"The dormitory consists of ten rooms, each accommodating four people, along with a dining hall and other facilities to support daily life," Theo explained.
"What? Four-person rooms? I thought they’d be private rooms since nobles are the ones staying there," Damien blurted out, unable to contain his surprise.
"The goal of dormitory life is to foster cooperation and social skills through shared living arrangements," Theo explained calmly. "That being said, the four-person room style dates back to when the dormitory was built with older, smaller architectural standards. Nowadays, rooms are typically two-person and more spacious."
"I see. Ah, sorry for interrupting," Damien said, feeling a little sheepish.
Leonide and the others didn’t seem surprised at all; maybe shared rooms were considered normal.
"No need to apologize," Theo replied with a smile. "If you’d like, the rooms can be converted into two-person accommodations by rearranging the furniture. You could even make them single rooms, though private dormitories are quite rare and would draw attention."
Damien nodded thoughtfully.
He didn’t want to stand out unnecessarily, so it seemed best to follow the standard arrangement.
