Help, I'm in Another World and All the Men Are So Hot! [BL]-Chapter 289: Morning Mischief
"I am so incredibly sorry!!"
Damien apologized with every ounce of sincerity, bowing so low his forehead nearly hit the floor.
This was his first full-on prostration in ages.
The entire morning had gone completely awry.
Originally, he had planned to wake up Augusto, and then pamper him to the fullest while eating the breakfast in bed, completely indulgence the works.
However, after gazing at Augusto’s sleeping face earlier, the exhaustion he felt from fooling around with Yor and then Zima last night had caught up with him, and he dozed off.
When he finally came to, this disaster had already unfolded.
"I truly don’t know how to make up for this..."
Instead of pampering Augusto, Damien had stolen his bed, and worse, his lips.
"I’m so, so sorry!!"
Once again, Damien pressed his forehead firmly into the bed.
...No, wait.
He had instinctively bowed on the bed, but this was a situation that called for doing it on the floor, wasn’t it?
He had stolen someone’s lips without permission—no punishment would be too severe.
"P-please, raise your head..."
"I-it’s my fault... I should’ve said something before approaching... I’m so sorry."
Hearing Augusto timidly say this, Damien couldn’t help but lift his head.
"That’s not true at all! Augusto, you didn’t do anything wrong! This was entirely my fault! I’m so sorry!"
"N-no, it’s my fault. I’m the one to blame... I’m so sorry... Please forgive me, forgive me..."
Augusto, who was clearly not at fault, looked as if he was about to burst into tears.
Damien desperately wanted him to understand that Augusto had done nothing wrong, and that the blame lay entirely with him. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
However, how could he convey that?
As Damien stood there helplessly, watching Augusto’s tears finally start to fall, he saw Yor who is standing nearby with an expression he had never seen before—a look of deep thought.
Then, Yor spoke up.
"Big brother, did you hate the kiss?"
"No! Not at all!"
The unexpected question caught Damien off guard, and he blurted out his true feelings without hesitation.
"Then, did Augusto hate kissing big brother?"
Hearing Yor call him "Augusto," Augusto frantically shook his head.
"N-no! It’s fine!"
The word "fine" felt like a bit of an odd choice, but Damien hoped it meant that Augusto wasn’t feeling disgusted or uncomfortable.
After listening to their responses, Yor tilted his head, still wearing a puzzled expression.
"I don’t get it. If you two kissed, why are you fighting?"
Well, you see, it’s... complicated, isn’t it?
Faced with such an unexpectedly sharp and bewildering question, Damien and Augusto couldn’t help but exchange glances.
"Um, it’s not that we’re fighting, really..." Damien tried to explain.
"Then are you getting along?"
Well, it’s not quite that simple either...
As Damien hesitated, Yor puffed out his cheeks in frustration.
"If you’re not fighting, then make up already!"
"Uh... um... alright."
"Y-yes... I understand. I’m sorry."
There was no winning against an upset Yor.
Satisfied with their reluctant agreement, Yor’s expression softened as he declared.
"Then, you have to kiss and make up!"
"Wha—!?"
"Wait, what!? That’s..."
Seeing the two of them flustered, Yor’s cheeks puffed up again.
This... this was not a battle they could win.
Resigned, Damien glanced over at Augusto with a sheepish smile.
Augusto who is blushing deeply, gave a small and reluctant nod of agreement.
Alright then...
Following Yor’s instructions, Damien leaned forward and placed a gentle reconciliation kiss on Augusto’s forehead.
Watching this, Yor looked slightly dissatisfied but eventually broke into a big, happy smile.
...
Something was off.
Ever since his morning plans had fallen apart, everything had been completely derailed.
Originally, Damien had planned to use Yor, a clingy and affectionate child who could hardly bear to be away from him, as an example to show Augusto that it was perfectly fine to express his need for affection.
To prepare for this, Damien had even told Yor in advance, "Feel free to be as clingy as you want."
But now...
"Here you go, big brother, soup."
Yor carefully placed a bowl of soup—something that looked like corn soup, likely made by Zima—in front of Damien.
"Oh, thank you, Yor."
When Damien thanked him, Yor smiled happily, then closed his eyes and tilted his face toward him with a small "Mmm!"
Damien understanding the cue, planted a light kiss on Yor’s adorable cheek.
Yor beamed again, then walked away, satisfied.
At first, Damien had hesitated to kiss Yor in front of others, but Yor wouldn’t leave until he got his kiss.
In that sense, Yor was still very much the clingy, affectionate child Damien had known.
Howeve... something was different—Yor had been unusually helpful and diligent all morning.
From serving the soup earlier to assisting with getting dressed and even helping with the bath—though Damien insisted on washing himself today—Yor had been taking care of almost everything.
The original plan was for Damien to handle both Augusto’s and Yor’s needs entirely by himself.
The four loyal retainers had already gone off to their respective duties, and Zima, Isaac, and Miria were all working behind the scenes and weren’t in the room.
Damien had resigned himself to managing everything on his own today... but somehow, Yor had taken care of nearly everything instead.
Yor had always been helpful with small tasks for Zima, but Damien never expected him to become so attentive.
Ideally, Damien would have asked Yor to hold back a little so he could prioritize the original plan... but that didn’t seem likely now.
"Alright, next it’s your turn, Augusto!" Yor said cheerfully.
"Y-yes..." Augusto replied hesitantly as he carried over a basket of bread, clearly unsure of himself.
Somehow, even Augusto had been roped into assisting with Yor’s "helping," and Damien found himself unable to put a stop to it.
"I-I’m sorry... I’ve brought some bread... I’m not very good at this, and I deeply apologize for my clumsiness... I’m sorry for being so incompetent at even something like this..."
"It’s alright, Augusto. Thank you," Damien said with a warm smile, cutting off Augusto’s stream of apologies.
