Help, I'm in Another World and All the Men Are So Hot! [BL]-Chapter 291: Feeding Bonds
Damien knew that Zima’s principles about proper behavior might not align with what he was about to do, but for the sake of his plan, he decided it could be excused.
"Really?! I can eat with you, Big Brother?!" Yor’s face lit up with excitement.
"Yep, let’s eat together," Damien replied, nodding warmly.
Yor beamed, his joy obvious.
Damien turned to invite Augusto to join them. "Augusto, why don’t you—"
"Augusto! Big Brother said we can eat together! Come here right now!" Yor interrupted, his tone leaving no room for argument.
"Wha—uh, no, I couldn’t possibly..." Augusto stammered, flustered.
"Augusto! Bring the bread! I’ll get the soup!" Without waiting for Augusto’s response, Yor had already decided and was bustling around to prepare.
"Augusto, you might as well give up and come join us," Damien said with a small laugh.
This wasn’t something anyone could refuse—especially with Yor so excited.
Judging by Yor’s determination as he cheerfully fetched the soup, defying him would only lead to a puffed-up sulk.
"...I... I’m sorry," Augusto murmured, clearly resigned.
He picked up the bread and brought it to the table, ready to join in.
"Big Brother!" Yor called out suddenly, his voice filled with energy.
"Hm? What is it?" Damien asked, turning to look at him.
Damien wondered if there was anything he could do to help.
"Make sure you feed Augusto too!"
"Huh?"
He couldn’t help but look confused when he heard that.
Yor puffed out his cheeks slightly.
"If I get to have Big Brother all to myself, Augusto will get upset, right? So, you have to feed him too!"
Damien realized that Yor had remembered what Leonide had told him yesterday.
"Huh? Feed him? Wait, what?"
Augusto, who didn’t quite understand, was flustered and unsure of what was going on.
"Yor wants Augusto to have the same thing as him," Damien explained simply.
He broke off a piece of bread and offered it to Augusto.
Although it was a little embarrassing, it wasn’t a big deal, and it was definitely less awkward than kissing, he figured.
"Here, Augusto. Open up," he said.
"What? No, I—I can’t..." Augusto stuttered, clearly flustered and unsure how to react.
It was no surprise that Augusto wouldn’t eat the bread.
Yor’s cheeks puffed up again.
Augusto seemed to notice this too, he glancing nervously at Yor.
"Don’t like it? I did wash my hands, though..."
Well, it was understandable that Augusto wouldn’t want to eat something offered by someone else’s hands.
Damien sighed. "Sorry..."
"I-I’m not saying I don’t like it, it’s just... I feel bad..."
"If you don’t dislike it, then come here," Yor said, his voice firm.
Since Damien was dealing with an unreasonable dictator, he figured it was better to give up and let it happen.
He continued holding the bread out, and Augusto, looking resigned, finally took the piece from Damien’s hand.
Damien felt a sense of accomplishment, as if he had been the one to help, and reached out to gently pat Augusto on the head.
Augusto blushed and looked down, embarrassed, but remained still as Damien continued to pat his head.
Yor, looking satisfied, nodded happily while bringing over the soup for both him and Augusto.
It seemed like Yor was happy now.
Damien gave a wry smile, knowing he couldn’t win against Yor’s tactics.
Yor tilted his head curiously, looking at Damien with a cute expression, clearly puzzled.
Well, Damien thought, this is a good chance to start pampering Augusto from now on... Or so he had planned.
"U-Um, are you sure it’s all right for me to go to sleep first?"
Lying down on the bed, Augusto looked uneasy.
"Of course. I just need to hear today’s reports from everyone, and then I’ll head to bed. Don’t worry about me—go ahead and sleep," Damien reassured him.
In the end, the day had slipped by with both Augusto and Yor taking care of Damien at every turn.
It felt like Damien hadn’t done a single thing to pamper Augusto.
"U-Um, is there anything I can help you with before I go to sleep?"
"Hm? Well... I’m just listening to reports, so there isn’t much to do. Unless... would you like to join us?"
"N-No! I couldn’t possibly impose like that!"
Damien chuckled inwardly; he’d expected that reply.
In reality, there were discussions during the report sessions that Augusto couldn’t be privy to, so it would have been awkward if he actually joined.
"I mean, it’s fine if you want to join," Damien said lightly, "but after the reports, I’ll be heading straight to bed anyway. So really, it’s okay if you sleep first."
He made sure his relief didn’t show on his face.
"B-But..."
Even so, Augusto still seemed hesitant, clearly uncomfortable with the idea of going to sleep before Damien.
But there really wasn’t anything for Augusto to do now.
Besides, today had been a day of Augusto and Yor taking care of him nonstop. Damien wanted Augusto to relax and rest properly.
As Damien was trying to figure out how to convince him, the household’s little dictator, Yor, popped his head into the room.
"Augusto," Yor said firmly.
"Y-Yes!" Augusto responded, straightening up immediately.
Augusto flinched slightly at the sound of Yor calling his name, a bit of irritation in the boy’s voice.
Well, Damien thought, after being on the receiving end of countless "puffed-up cheeks" from Yor today, it was no wonder Augusto was nervous.
Damien couldn’t blame him. Whenever Yor seemed upset, it was only natural to brace yourself.
"Tomorrow’s an early day, so you need to go to bed now," Yor said, sounding like a strict parent.
Damien appreciated the backup, though... Wait, what? Tomorrow, too?
"B-But..."
"No buts! If you don’t get enough sleep, you won’t be able to take care of big brother properly," Yor scolded sharply, cutting off Augusto’s protest.
It was... reassuring, in a way.
But something about the whole situation felt fundamentally wrong.
Wait, Damien thought. Does this mean that, in Yor’s mind, it’s already decided that Augusto will continue helping take care of me tomorrow?
