Help, I'm in Another World and All the Men Are So Hot! [BL]-Chapter 316: The Problem Room
"That’s correct," Elyon replied. "The lounge is directly across from this room, while the servant quarters are on the other side of the office."
That made sense.
Since this entire mansion was now his, it was only natural it would include all the necessary facilities.
Damien realized he had grown accustomed to living compactly in a single room.
While the setup had been convenient, he found himself appreciating its simplicity.
For someone with his modest sensibilities, that arrangement had felt just right.
"By the way, are there any hidden mechanisms or traps in these rooms?" he asked cautiously.
"Hmm? No, nothing like that," Elyon responded.
Really?
Damien had been slightly wary, considering how gaudy Theo’s bedroom had been in his mansion.
Surprisingly, this room seemed rather normal.
...Wait.
Damien caught himself.
Had he just described a spacious room complete with all basic amenities as "normal"?
He found himself a little shocked at how his sense of what was ordinary had shifted.
Still, he was relieved the elves’ craftsmanship had resulted in a bedroom that fell within the bounds of reason.
"At least here," Elyon added with a cryptic tone.
"Here?"
Leaving the surprisingly ordinary bedroom behind, Elyon led Damien and the others to the farthest door on the second floor.
Elyon had been ominously vague about this particular room, insisting they’d have to see it for themselves.
"As I mentioned earlier, the room across from the bedroom is the lounge," Elyon explained. "And next to it is the bath."
They decided to inspect the lounge and bath later since, according to Elyon, they were no different from those in Theo’s mansion.
The real issue lay behind the door Elyon had stopped in front of—a door located on the far end of the second floor, where Theo’s mansion had once housed the guest quarters for honored visitors.
As Damien drew closer, he noticed how different the carvings on this door were.
While all the other doors featured engravings of the World Tree—this one was entirely unique.
In addition to the World Tree, the birds soared through the sky, animals frolicked on the ground, and radiant beams of light spilled across the scene.
It exuded an air of grandeur and opulence just from its appearance.
"Now, about this problem room," Elyon said, placing a hand on the door.
Wait, had Elyon just called it a problem room?!
If Elyon, of all people, thought the room was an issue, Damien couldn’t even begin to imagine what it might contain.
The others stared at the door with a mix of nervousness and dread.
Lucian, the most timid of the group, was already on the verge of tears.
"Uh, so... what kind of room is this?"
Damien had already seen all the rooms in Theo’s mansion, so he had no idea what this one could be.
"...It’s the master bedroom."
"The master bedroom?"
Damien repeated the words instinctively, still confused.
He couldn’t make sense of it.
There was already a bedroom, right?
So what exactly made this one the master bedroom?
Noticing Damien’s puzzled expression, Leonide explained further.
"The master bedroom usually refers to the main bedroom for the head of the house... and, well, also... for the... uh, for a married couple."
Seeing Leonide’s slightly embarrassed demeanor, Damien realized the implication. It seemed that the "couple’s bedroom" was exactly what it sounded like.
His own bedroom was just next door, so this must have been made with a different purpose in mind.
"...Why did they even make something like this?"
"Well, I can’t say I disagree, but... it’s necessary, right?"
Elyon gave a wry smile but didn’t deny its necessity.
Yeah, sure, it was necessary, but still...
"How should I put it... I think it’s the result of an intense passion for the prosperity of the old men’s lineage... an enthusiasm that may have gotten a little out of hand."
Damien couldn’t help but wonder if the old men had lost their minds.
Was it really okay?
...Come to think of it, they had mentioned something before about how their thoughts weren’t quite the same as humans due to their old age.
Well, he could only take it as a sign of goodwill.
"Do we have to see it?"
"It’s not that you have to, but you’ll end up using it sooner or later, right?"
Ah... Yeah, he probably would.
Damien sighed.
It seemed like he’d be spending a lot of time in this room from now on.
He had better take a good look at it now.
...
Damien placed his hand on the doorknob and took a deep breath.
"Elyon, it won’t explode or anything, right?"
"..."
The silence from Elyon, who didn’t seem to take the joke seriously, made Damien even more nervous.
Wait... Was there a risk of the room exploding, even though it was a bedroom?
"...A-are you really sure it’s okay to open it?"
"It’s fine. If anything happens, I’ll take care of it."
Elyon’s confidence was reassuring, but it also made Damien feel uneasy.
Still, with such a serious remark, there was no turning back now.
He couldn’t ignore the potential danger of a room that might explode.
After another deep breath to steady his nerves, Damien opened the door.
What greeted him was a familiar layout—a lounge.
He stepped into the lounge, and immediately to the right, he saw a door that likely led to the bedroom.
On the left, there were two doors, probably leading to the servant quarters and a small kitchen.
While the layout was familiar, there was something off... It was much larger than he expected.
The bed, which had previously been large enough for about ten people, was now about twice its original size, and as a result, the entire room had expanded to accommodate it.
...Wait, isn’t this room a bit too big?
It felt like the room was much larger than it should be, considering the size of the mansion.
"...Elyon, I need an explanation."
"Hmm, where should I start?"
Where to start!?
