Help! My Male Employees Are Having Babies!-Chapter 160: The Case of the Runaway Groom
Doug stayed away three days, then he went for a visit. Constantine met him at the front door.
"He’s just coming down off his cycle—it wasn’t good. It was a very intense cycle," Constantine explained. "Had him fight me a couple of times because he was looking for you. He needed to get to you because he needed you to breed him. I want to ask you to wait for a couple more days till it clears up. I’ve never seen it this bad—I had Lex over here and Clark. They had to give him a couple injections just to keep him quiet enough so that he could ride out his body’s desires."
"Lex said there’s a possibility that Richie might have a condition which makes him go into super cycles—they’ll be irregular at best, but his drive to be bred will be through the roof," Constantine continued. "When he’s not cycling, you and him need to talk about your future. I would much rather he end up with you than with whoever’s behind a bale of hay or stack of wood."
---
Friday evening after work, Doug stopped by one more time. Eli was on the front porch.
"Well, it’s about time you got back," Eli greeted him. "He’s been crying and begging for you since Monday. What I saw wasn’t my brother—if that’s what it means to have your cycle, fix me right now. I don’t ever want to have one."
Eli showed him to the door and told him to have a seat. A bashful Richie walked out of his room, looking down at the floor. Doug stood up and Richie ran to his arms.
"I’ve missed you so much—it was horrible at best," Richie said, clinging to him. "I can’t believe I acted the way I did to my brothers who were only trying to help me. The things I said to uncle Clark and Lex are unforgivable. I was begging either one of them to mount me—I didn’t care who it was. It hurt so bad, it burned inside. I just wanted it to go away. I told them, ’Just open the door and let anybody in if I couldn’t have you—just to put me out of my misery.’"
Doug placed his finger under Richie’s chin and lifted it, gently kissing him. "I promise, you will never go through that again. I won’t leave your side next time, but you know what that means."
"It means that I will carry your child within my body for nine months and we will be together at your place," Richie replied softly. "You can hold me, kiss me, and love on me anytime you want to."
"Richie, I promise you that I will never leave you nor our children," Doug vowed. "When I become a father, I’m a father for life. I don’t care how bad it gets—I will never ever abandon you or our children."
"All we need is a preacher man here and you two could get married now after that exchange," Eli commented.
Doug reached out and roughed up his hair. "Boy, you may make it to transition yet."
"Hey, don’t rush anything and don’t curse me like that, because I never want to have a cycle like he had," Eli protested.
"Thank you, Eli. I don’t wish that on anyone either, but it was what it was and I’m going to get better," Richie assured him.
Richie and Doug sat down on the sofa, and Doug wrapped his arms around Richie, gently holding him tight.
"Damn, you smell nice today," Doug remarked. "New fragrance or something?"
"Constantine! I need you here in the living room now!" Richie called out urgently.
Constantine walked into the living room. "Damn, who stepped in the Racknar crap? Everybody check your shoes—someone stepped in it and that stinks."
"Nobody stepped in anything—it’s me. I’m starting to cycle again," Richie explained in distress. "Doug smells roses, lavender, and honeysuckle again. Please call Lex and let him know and find out what he can do. I don’t want to have to go back and lock up for five days."
Constantine called Lex, who was headed over to check him out. Until then he wanted Richie sent to his room. "Doug, you stay where you’re at."
---
Lex came in and checked Richie, then walked him back to the room and sat him on the couch. "Well, the good news is I know what’s wrong with him. The bad news is he’s coming back into cycle," Lex announced. "It’s what we call a hyper-cycling event."
"He’ll come in for five days, out for 24 hours, come in for five days, out for 24 hours, and it’ll repeat itself until he does one thing."
"What is it and how can we fix this for Richie?" Constantine asked.
"Everybody sit down and I’ll tell you what has to be done to correct this," Lex said seriously. "It is a genetic problem that some hybrids have after they transition. And unfortunately, the only way to fix it is he must conceive a child and go through a pregnancy. After he delivers, his cycle fixes itself."
"Lex, if we do nothing for Richie, what happens?" Constantine pressed.
"He keeps on going in and out of cycle until it either drives him mad or somebody knocks him up, because people are going to be crawling all over your house due to his scent," Lex explained grimly. "The first chance when one gets to him, they will."
"Constantine, you’re my brother and I know you always know best, but this one I’ve got to handle on my own," Richie interjected. "Doug and I are going to end up together—it’s a matter of time. We wanted to wait, but I see no other way to fix this than for him to get me pregnant."
Doug sat there like a zombie. "You mean we have to do it now? Are you sure we’re ready for this?"
"Ready or not, Doug, it’s either going to be you or whoever comes through that door and catches me," Richie said firmly. "And I’d much rather carry our child than a stranger’s child. We can get Constantine and Mr. Zack to escort us to your place—they can lock us in for the weekend and then our problem will be solved, other than nine months of growing and getting huge, then delivering our baby."
"We decided to wait. I don’t know if I’m ready to become a father this early in our relationship," Doug wavered.
"Douglas, is this the reason that you’re still single and you don’t have any children?" Richie challenged. "At the last minute you tuck your tail between your legs and run? You can’t be man enough to do the job? I thought we had talked about our future. Sometimes things change and don’t go quite as planned."
"I’m sorry, Richie. It’s just a little bit of pressure on us both right now," Doug apologized. "We can walk over to the house with our escort—they can lock us in and we can take one step at a time. I just don’t want anything to go wrong and me accidentally getting a little overzealous, hurting you in the process. That’s the last thing I want to do."
"Doug, we’re going to be just fine," Richie reassured him. "Lex has talked to me about special lubricants that help desensitize my vent so that I can accommodate you almost painlessly, but you still have to take it slow. I know it’s going to be exciting—finally get to be with yours truly—but it’s just one step at a time. I know you can do it and you won’t hurt me."
Doug shook his head and walked to the door. He looked back at Richie and hung his head, then walked out the door. "I have to think. I’ll let you know."
