Her Vengeful Lycan Alpha-Chapter 368: Itβs ugly
Chapter Three Hundred-Sixty-Eight β Itβs Ugly
Prince Sorren and Dylan were awfully astonished by the Knightβs remark to Lady Cara to her face. They turned to Lady Cara and saw her mutter words but did nothing. ππππ¦ππππππ·ππ.πΈπ°π
Sorren was glad that she didnβt try anything thatβd have disrupted the peace of Sigmaβs birthday celebration.
It had been Dylanβs duty to welcome the representative from Green Valleys but Cara had rushed out first.
Instead of welcoming him, she down rated him and Dylan wanted to go to Zeldrisβs rescue but surprisingly, he had a bad mouth of his. One that could shut the Lady up.
Dylan now saw Zeldris as part of his kin for doing that. He returned to the door to stay and spare other visitors from Lady Cara.
If she dared to come there to cause trouble again, he knew the Prince wouldnβt let her off like last time.
Zeldris took the twins to the table with assorted foods and brought them down there. The place was filled and the instrumentalists made soft melody.
The guests were mostly lycans but theyβre still wolves, mostly pretty werewolfesses with wavy long hair and nice bodies. Zeldris felt envious of the wolves at Black Thorn.
He wished the young Beta could arrive early enough so that heβd keep the twins with one of his maidens and go to say hello to the ladies.
"Zeldis?"
He turned to Marino who called and gave him a snack. He smiled and took it from the boy and bit into it. "Thanks. Have some for yourself. The place is pretty, isnβt it?"
Mira looked up and shook her head. There were many people in the hall and she didnβt find that pretty at all. "Itβs ugly. Everything is ugly." She said with a pout.
Zeldris stared at her in shock. If she didnβt like it then didnβt that defeat the purpose Princess Laurel asked him to come here? Itβs been for the kids to see a big pretty place.
Prince Sorren had been behind them, he wanted to thank the Princessβs representative for their presence, when he heard the little girlβs words.
His hardwork was ugly? Everything?
Zeldris noticed his presence and froze, wondering why his cousins walked up to him for the first time ever.
He thought quickly and guessed it should be time for him to get on his good side "Good job hereβ"
Mira interrupted and pointed at Sorren. "Pretty girl!"
That annoyed Sorren more. Pretty girl? The girl had misplaced priorities. She and her younger brother were the famed children of the Princess, werenβt they? He stared at the little boy who kept on looking at him.
"Itβs a boy, Mimi." Marino said and took his sisterβs hand down. He took a snack and gave it to Sorren.
Sorren sighed and took the snack. The little boy smiled at him and Sorren lightly touched his head. His older brother had told him about the child, Marino.
He turned to the Knight whoβd been looking at him. He didnβt have much to say to him but spoke. "The Princess couldnβt make it even when I personally invited her."
Zeldris thought hard on how to avoid the question but Prince Sorren was directly in front of him so avoiding would be impossible.
"The Princess gets tired... easily these days..." Zeldris tried to create an excuse. "Oh, and she broke the Delta rank recently... she might want to train more now."
Prince Sorren hummed. He had noticed something different when he had met her at the cave, so thatβs what it was?
Did breaking Delta Rank have anything to do with the cave or the person who had attacked him in the cave?
Mira reached for a part of Sorrenβs clipped hair and pulled it down. Sorrenβs eyes darkened on her and she ran behind Zeldris. Zeldris sighed, and patted her head.
The clipped part held braids together and Zeldris had a good idea. "Um... if you want, I can braid it back. I am actually really good at braiding."
He pushed Marino forward to show his hair to the Prince. He noticed the Prince frown and pulled the boy back.
Of course, itβd be weird to allow a random guy to braid his hair, anyone would prefer a lady, or generally, Prince Sorren wouldnβt want anyone touching his hair.
"Braiding hair isnβt popular at Green Valleys. Where did you learn to do that?" Sorren asked, narrowing his eyes at the Knight.
His eyes went to the little boyβs head and the braids were not the work of an amateur either. Wasnβt this Zeldris from Green Valleys like the other officials, except the Delta?
Zeldris felt elated with the question. He decided to brag about how he used to practice with his motherβs friends while they were travelling.
"I stayed at Damancas while growing up and lots of people braid their hair." He nodded at his words and brought Mira forward. "This is a weave though."
He pointed out a braid that rested on the head. "I am great at those, as well. The Princess saidβ"
"Youβre talkative."
Something broke in Zeldris. He had overdone it. He kept his head down. "I-I am very sorry, Prince Sorren."
Sorren smiled. It had to be him then. "How old are you?"
Zeldris kept his head even lower. Did the Prince think his talkative nature was because he was immature? He thought of increasing his age. "Twenty-oneβ"
"Liar!" Marino looked up at him. "Princess said you are a child. Twenty-one is not a child. Itβs a big numberβ"
Zeldris closed his mouth and corrected. "I mean, nineteen. Iβm nineteenβ" he noticed Prince Sorren leaving and his legs felt weak.
The Prince mustβve gotten tired of him talking and lying. He was done for now. If the Prince ever finds out that theyβre related, heβd reject him for good.
Marino noticed Zeldris mood changed and worried that he had been the cause of it. "Zeldis, sorry."
Zeldis said nothing and imagined how heβd grow and die old early, his thinking went through a dramatic case of βhe hates me so Iβd be alone till I die.β
With no response from him, Marino felt guilty and ran after Prince Sorren to correct what he said. Mira turned to her brother and then to Zeldris who wasnβt concentrating.
She ran after her brother holding a handful of snacks that scattered pieces on the way.
In the grand hall filled with almost hundred people, two little children ran about.
Sorren left to the entrance because of his older brotherβs arrival, he hadnβt yet said a word to him when Stefan tossed his cloak on his face and walked in.
Dylan chuckled and helped the Prince take the cloak off his face. The Alpha seemed to be in a good mood recently, the other guards were talking about it too.
Heβd been researching about a tribe and asked if they knew about it but he didnβt seem stressed out as usual. It made the other warriors feel at ease as well.
"Sigma should come out soon enough. The guests from High Moon Kingdom will be here soon." Sorren looked at the sky. They shouldβve arrived already.
He returned inside and searched for his older brother. "You surely took your time..." he trailed off when he saw his brother having a pained expression.
He saw the little boy in front of him, slowly backing away. Why did the boy look cautious? Didnβt his brother say that they were friends and he sometimes chatted with him?
Did it happen in his brotherβs imagination ? The power of delusion. Sorren smirked. "Marino, why are you here?"
Marino turned to Sorren and then back at Stefan. He remembered how Stefan was the Alpha that the Princess didnβt like, and he remembered how the Alpha had sent that scary warrior who tried to kill the Princess and all of them.
The Alpha must be a scary person and Marino didnβt want to get too close for fear of annoying him and seeing that side.
Mira held her brotherβs hand and pulled him back to Zeldris. Marino followed, forgetting what he wanted to say to Sorren.
Mira turned to have one last look at them and Sorren recognized that look. The little kids left afterwards.
"They are really Laurelβs children." Sorren muttered. At the cave, Laurel always gave him a cautious yet annoyed look.
She had also spoken like something bothered her and was quick to anger. If these kids were the closest to her, then theyβd have picked up some of those traits.
"Donβt worry about it. Children copy the closest persons in their lives. I actually have something to tell you aboutβ"
"Laurel didnβt do this." Stefan looked up. "Marino mustβve realized that Iβm the Alpha who killed the Princessβ family and hurt loved ones of the people he knew. Itβs natural."
Sorren stayed quiet. So his brother really knew that boy and it wasnβt am illusion? He shrugged. They had all started on a rocky path with the people of Green Valleys.
It had gotten better but since Laurel returned from High Moon, sheβd been unnecessarily paranoid and made the relationships worse. Theyβd have to give her time.
