Chapter 406: Four Girls vs Two Angry Clans

A week passed quickly.

Raviel and Aveline went to meet with Rachel to check on her for the last time.

They stepped into the training field and soon found Rachel.

She stood calmly near the edge, watching four disciples sparring lightly.

Raviel quickly narrowed his eyes as he saw the four people.

"You really chose four people. You weren’t kidding."

Rachel turned to Raviel and smiled gently.

"Of course I am. I already told you, didn’t I?"

Raviel exhaled through his nose but didn’t argue.

Rachel then turned and lifted her hand slightly.

"You four, come here."

Rika walked forward first, posture relaxed but steady.

Rena followed right behind her, a bright grin on her face.

Azalira stepped forward with a light bounce in her step, eyes shining with mischief.

Aurelia came last, calm and composed, her expression warm but confident.

They stopped in front of Raviel and Aveline.

Rachel gestured toward them one by one.

"Let me introduce them properly."

She placed her hand lightly toward Rika.

"Rika Revalis."

Rika bowed slightly. "Patriarch."

Rachel nodded toward the energetic one beside her.

"Rena Revalis."

Rena gave a quick, sharp salute. "We won’t disappoint."

Rachel then turned her palm toward the other two.

"Aurelia Avenora."

Aurelia inclined her head respectfully. "We are prepared."

"And Azalira Avenora."

Azalira smiled brightly.

"Prepared and mildly excited."

Raviel narrowed his eyes slightly at that last tone.

Aveline remained calm, observing carefully.

Both Raviel and Aveline looked at the four of them from head to toe.

"Are you sure that they can defeat the people from those clans?"

Rika stepped forward immediately.

"Patriarch, don’t belittle us."

Rena pointed her thumb at herself with a grin.

"Yeah! We have been training like crazy this week all for this moment!"

She flexed her arm dramatically.

"Extra heavy lift sessions. We doubled our squat weight. Added weighted sprints after every round."

She pointed toward the training hall.

"And I asked Rovric to turn up [Pressure Field] during circuit training!"

Raviel blinked. "You asked for that?"

Rena laughed loudly. "It was fun!"

Rika nodded. "We didn’t rest early even once this week."

Rachel added gently, "They volunteered."

Raviel looked surprised. "Volunteered?"

Azalira suddenly leaned forward slightly, smiling sweetly.

"Oh yes... We were very motivated."

Her voice carried a playful tone.

"I even prepared a few small ’conditioning experiments’ for us."

Raviel slowly turned toward her. "...Experiments?"

Azalira waved her hand lightly.

"Nothing serious. Just tiny exposure doses. Very educational."

Rena took a small step sideways.

"Educational for who?"

Azalira’s grin widened.

"For all of us."

Aurelia gently placed a hand on Azalira’s shoulder.

"She means we trained adaptability," Aurelia said calmly. "Exposure builds resistance. It was controlled."

She looked at Raviel with steady confidence.

"We didn’t do anything reckless."

Azalira tilted her head slightly.

"Reckless is such a strong word."

Raviel rubbed his forehead slowly.

"You four really don’t look nervous at all," he muttered.

Rena grinned. "Should we pretend to shake a little?"

Rika nudged her lightly. "Don’t tease the Patriarch."

Azalira clasped her hands behind her back and leaned forward slightly.

"Oh, we can pretend to be nervous if it helps morale."

Raviel gave her a flat look.

"Don’t."

Aurelia chuckled softly. "We’re ready, Patriarch. Truly."

Aveline narrowed her eyes slightly as she observed them one by one.

"Your stance is stable," she said calmly. "Good."

Raviel lowered his hand from his forehead and looked at Rachel.

"You’re really sending them."

Rachel smiled gently. "Yes."

Raviel turned back to the four women.

"Alright. One last time. Are you all ready?"

Rika stepped forward first. Her voice was warm but firm.

"We are."

Rena raised her fist high. "More than ready!"

Azalira’s lips curved into a playful grin. "I even prepared a few... backup options."

Raviel’s eye twitched slightly. "Define backup."

Azalira smiled sweetly. "Motivational stimulants."

Aurelia quickly added, "Legal ones."

Rachel gave Azalira a warning look.

"No experiments during the match."

Azalira sighed dramatically. "You all worry too much."

Rika straightened her back.

"We understand what this means."

Rena nodded. "It’s not just about us."

Aurelia’s voice stayed calm. "It’s about showing how we train."

Aveline finally nodded once.

"Good."

She turned toward the transport ship waiting at the edge of the island.

"Are you all ready?"

The four answered together this time.

"Yes."

Raviel nodded once.

"Good."

He turned toward the ship.

"Then let’s go."

The wind brushed against their clothes as they began walking.

---

The neutral plain was already crowded.

On one side stood the Vulkran Clan.

Heat shimmered faintly around them.

Several warriors were bare-armed, muscles exposed, rolling their shoulders like they were about to charge into battle instead of a tournament.

On the other side stood the Shivera Clan.

Several calm and stoic women slowly walked toward the arena without any wasted movement or voice.

The moment both clans noticed each other... the silence was directly broken.

A tall Vulkran warrior stepped forward, cracking his neck loudly.

"Still hiding beneath the thin ice tricks, huh?"

A Shivera elite didn’t even blink as she turned and countered.

"At least we don’t need to shout all the time just to feel strong."

A few Vulkran warriors laughed loudly, trying to defend their friend.

"Oh? Say that again, ice witch, if you can when you’re flat on the ground!"

Cold mist spread slightly under the Shivera side as they countered too.

"Oh? Then try to shout when you’re frozen in an ice block."

The Vulkran warriors slammed their fists against their chests, heat rising from their bodies.

"You want to test it now, huh?" one of them shouted, stepping forward with a wide grin.

Another cracked his knuckles loudly. "We don’t need to wait!"

Across from them, a thin layer of frost spread slowly over the ground.

The Shivera formation did not move, but the temperature dropped sharply.

"Anytime," a calm voice answered from their side.

The Vulkrans laughed.

"Oh? You think you can freeze us?"

The frost thickened slightly.

"We think," another Shivera disciple replied evenly, "you talk too much."

The air between the two clans tightened.

Heat and cold pushed against each other.

Steam formed faintly where the energies met.

Several Vulkrans leaned forward, ready to charge.

A few Shivera elites raised their hands slightly, prepared to activate [Frost Suppression Field] at full output.

One Vulkran warrior took a step...

Then a heavy voice cut through everything.
