"As expected from the investigation results... humans actually dare to meddle with the power of Xyz."

Seeing Cyber Dragon Nova on Zane’s field, Dovelgus spoke in a calm tone tinged with faint anger.

"It is precisely because of foolish acts like yours that this world’s destruction has come ahead of time, humans!"

"The world’s destruction? What does that have to do with me?"

With his arms crossed beneath the twin-glowing Cyber Dragon Nova, Zane sneered.

"Compared to the destruction of the world, you’re the one who’s about to be destroyed right now. Witness the power of Cyber Dragon Nova!"

Pulling the Cyber Dragon Core from beneath Cyber Dragon Nova as Xyz Material, Zane activated its Xyz Effect.

"I detach the Xyz Material, Cyber Dragon Core! Rise again, Cyber Dragon sleeping in my Graveyard!"

"Two monsters with 2100 ATK—what can they possibly do before my absolute battle line?!"

"Evolve, Cyber Dragon Nova! Absorb Cyber Dragon’s power and become an existence that surpasses Cyber End Dragon!"

The two Cyber Dragons merged into one. The overlapping evolution light instantly attracted surging currents, crackling around Cyber Dragon Nova.

"No," Misawa cut into the students’ discussion. "If he blindly destroys Machina Fortress, Zane will fall into an even worse position."

When Machina Fortress is destroyed by battle, it activates its last words effect to destroy another monster and revive Machina Megaform from the Graveyard. Dovelgus’s field could be said to have set up the ultimate spear and shield.

Frowning, Misawa concluded,

"For Zane to break this situation, there’s only one way—use an even stronger spear to destroy Juggernaut Liebe! And only a Machine deck has the explosive power to do that."

Confirming Misawa’s guess, Zane threw out that card—an essential finisher for Machine decks.

As the price for that massive boost, all Machine monsters on his field would be destroyed at the end of the turn. But if he didn’t do this, next turn Juggernaut Liebe could detach material to rise to 8000 ATK—far harder to stop.

"Go! Shatter the enemy’s giant cannon—Cyber Dragon Nova—Supernova Evolution Flame!!"

Breaking through its own limits, Cyber Dragon Nova erupted in its final brilliance, its eternal evolution flame burning down Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Juggernaut Liebe.

The massive cannon collapsed completely. Hell Kaiser’s soul-driven strike snapped the Iron Realm King’s strongest spear, blasting apart the dwarf coalition king’s gigantic mechanical body.

The vertically falling Xyz Light stacked directly onto the enlarged Cyber Dragon Nova. After gaining Nova’s evolutionary light, Zane once again pushed Cyber Dragon’s power beyond its limits.

Under Machina Citadel’s relentless bombardment, Zane’s unmistakable taunting voice rang out.

"This kind of destruction can’t even touch Cyber Dragon Infinity!"

Holding up an Xyz Material detached from beneath Infinity, Zane activated its effect.

Not only could it negate an opponent’s card effect directly, it could counter-destroy the card as well. Such suppressive power far exceeded the current level of Duel Monsters in this world, pushing toward the infinite possibilities of dueling.

Bathed in the infinite evolutionary light, Dovelgus said sternly,

"So you countered Machina Citadel’s effect... persistent human. Then the Continuous Spell Machina Defense Perimeter activates!"

And with only one material left, Zane could negate Dovelgus’s effects at most one more time.
