Hidden identities of the AI Heiress-Chapter 211 - Qiao Yun: You Want Me to Leave?
Chapter 211: Chapter 211 Qiao Yun: You Want Me to Leave?
After hanging up the phone, Qiao Yun uploaded the video she had recorded of Xia You belittling women onto the internet.
As for the uproar this sparked online, she didn’t pay any attention.
She realized it was already eleven o’clock at night, and Lu Zhanxing hadn’t returned.
He hadn’t sent her any messages or made any calls.
Qiao Yun hesitated for a moment before taking the initiative to call him.
However, until the call ended, Lu Zhanxing didn’t pick up.
Qiao Yun held her phone, unsure whether to make a second call, when a text message arrived.
It was sent by Lu Zhanxing.
[Won’t be back tonight.]
There was no concern or reminder in his message.
Although Qiao Yun felt something was off, she didn’t think too much about it, as she wasn’t the type to fuss over such matters.
This was Qiao Yun’s first night alone in Hai City since her arrival.
The next day.
When Qiao Yun opened her room door, she saw Lu Zhanxing.
He was sitting at the dining chair, breakfast laid out on the table. His voice was somewhat hoarse as he said, “Let’s have breakfast.”
Qiao Yun noticed that Lu Zhanxing looked pale, as if he had not slept well.
She opened her mouth, but in the end, she asked nothing.
She simply sat down in silence.
The breakfast between the two was exceptionally gloomy.
“When are you planning to go back?” Lu Zhanxing suddenly asked.
“Soon,” Qiao Yun replied without much thought.
“Anyway, I’m pretty busy too. You staying here, I can’t take you out, it might be better if you go back earlier.”
Lu Zhanxing was looking down, chewing on his sandwich, yet he couldn’t taste anything.
Qiao Yun didn’t respond; she just stared at Lu Zhanxing.
“Do you want to leave today or tomorrow? I’ll book a flight for you. Going back earlier means you can enjoy a few more days. Staying here is pointless.”
The more Lu Zhanxing spoke, the more choked up he felt, a bitter taste welling up in his heart.
“Do you want me to leave?” Qiao Yun’s face remained calm as she spoke.
Lu Zhanxing didn’t look at her, squeezing out a single word with difficulty: “Yes.”
“Did something happen?”
Qiao Yun asked, showing concern.
Lu Zhanxing’s change in attitude was too abrupt, and she had a feeling something had occurred.
Lu Zhanxing paused, finally looking up at Qiao Yun, “Nothing happened. I’m just tired and don’t want to look after you. You being here would delay me a lot.”
He was an actor, and when serious, even Qiao Yun couldn’t distinguish whether he was telling the truth or lying.
Qiao Yun’s lips formed a straight line, and she just quietly watched him. There was no sadness, no heartache, no emotion; she simply nodded and said, “I understand.”
It felt as though a hammer had struck Lu Zhanxing’s chest; he abruptly stood up.
“I’m done eating. You can finish.”
He strode out of the dining room as if fleeing for his life.
It seemed he could feel Qiao Yun’s gaze fixed on him from behind.
He didn’t turn back, not even a single step.
Qiao Yun’s gaze was somewhat scattered, as if she was thinking, yet not thinking about anything.
Only after a while did she pick up the sandwich and take a bite.
There was her favorite strawberry jam.
When had Lu Zhanxing noticed that she liked the flavor of strawberry?
Humans are truly complex creatures. She thought she understood, but she realized she knew nothing.
Qiao Yun finished the sandwich in a few bites.
She didn’t ask why Lu Zhanxing wanted her to leave; instead, she left the house.
Inside the room, Lu Zhanxing, hearing the sound of the door closing, immediately tensed up.
Why did she go out?
Was she angry?

She wouldn’t go far, would she?
He had let her down!
Lu Zhanxing’s expression was pained as he fiercely punched the wall, and blood oozed from his already injured hand.
