Zack's eyes stared directly at Ezio before looking at Akuma.

[ You guys handle Akuma while I handle Ezio. ] He said before raising his right hand and pointing it towards Ezio.

'Solar flare.' The huge sunflower behind Zack suddenly shot a green beam forward as Zack inserted his blue flames into it.

Together, they caused an explosion of lights which managed to blind all of the people present there, including Zack's teammates.

Since he was still under the effects of the lightning movement skill, he dashed forward and appeared right beside Ezio.

But instead of attacking him, he swung Eirias towards the duke's right arm and tried to cut it off.

'Is it his arm or something made from vibranium…' Zack thought as he felt Eirias getting stuck halfway in.

He somehow managed to cut halfway before pulling the sword back and dashing back towards the sunflower.

Ezio had stood still on his spot when Zack had tried to cut it off but after regaining his sight, the duke stared at its right arm and frowned.

'That was a late reaction.' Zack observed as he once again appeared behind Ezio and testingly dropped a spark of his flames near Ezio's ankle.

The flames immediately started burning his leg yet he didn't feel anything until his leg was completely gone.

Ezio then regrew his leg before glaring at Zack.

"You won't listen huh," Ezio said with a wicked look before he dashed forward towards Zack. Black iron chains appeared in his hands as he threw them forward, hoping to capture Zack.

'So it's like that huh.' Zack thought with a small smile as he raised Eirias and slashed it down. A wave of blue flames emerged from the blade of the sword and cut through the iron chains before reaching in front of Ezio.

Zack then revealed the small trump card he had unlocked and activated it with a small smile. He suddenly appeared in place of the blue flames slash and swung Eirias in Ezio's direction.

However, the duke was no child and swiftly managed to avoid the sword by moving to the right and summoning another pair of chains.

Zack saw them with a curious look and suddenly stood on his spot as he let the chains wrap around his body.

[ Don't just stand there and fight Akuma or you might never get the chance to wake up again. ] Zack warned the party members who had been watching the fight with their breaths held.

After his wake-up call, all of them stared at Akuma before forming a strategy in a matter of seconds.

[ Hayden and Ken will fight Akuma while I will support them as well as Zack. Lisa, your goal is to form a barrier of protection around Jonathan and Pearl's bodies. We will give him a good send-off… ]

Emma shared the plan with all of them as they executed it. The pink-haired girl summoned her bow and pointed it toward Akuma before firing an arrow.

Simultaneously, Ken and Hayden shot forward toward the duke, ready to fight him to death.

Zack, who was currently wrapped in chains, smiled and directly stared into Ezio's eyes.

"So you were a being of darkness from the starting. To think that the darkness will consume you in the end and make you a higher undead." He sighed before releasing the blue flames all around his body.

They rushed through the chains and directly reached Ezio's body, engulfing him in flames. He raised his right hand and cut the chains in half before glaring at Zack.

"Why can't you just leave? Jonathan is already dead and I am the king. You have to obey my commands." Ezio said in an annoyed tone as a smile appeared on Zack's face.

"I have never listened to any ruler, including my father. Compared to him and the others I used to know, you are just a small bug."

Slowly, Zack's mind started unraveling yet he held it on the verge. If everything poured in at once, his mind would be overloaded and he would be knocked out.

Zack would allow all the memories to settle in once he was sure that he and the others were safe.

And that would be when he defeated Ezio and revived Jonathan.

'Five minutes.' He thought before tightening his grip on Eirias.

There were many reasons the sword was called the crystal sword and Zack remembered one of the biggest ones.

It could reflect things like most crystals but unlike them, it wasn't restricted to light.

"Double-Edged Reflection," Zack muttered under his breath as he pointed the sword towards Ezio and activated the property of the sword.

His feet were suddenly pushed back as two sets of metal chains shot from the tip of the sword and wrapped around Ezio's arms.

The current king's eyes showed surprise for a second before the lines on his face suddenly started to glow. The chains suddenly turned into balls of light and shot towards Ezio's face.

A grin appeared on Zack's face as the flames around Eirias brightened. He shot forward and swung the sword towards Ezio's neck as the latter rolled to the right to dodge it.

'It worked!' Zack noticed that Ezio's movement speed had almost decreased by half after absorbing the chains.

The new king had barely been able to dodge the incoming attack and looked at Zack in disbelief.

The latter didn't say anything and once it went ahead to attack. The reason his attack had been called double-edged reflection was pretty simple. 𝒇r𝙚𝙚𝓌𝙚𝑏𝗻𝑜𝘷𝗲𝘭.c૦𝑚

It would send Zack back with the same force of the attack he had last experienced. Sadly, the chains had been pretty weak so he was able to easily counter them.

However, he had depended on the fact that Ezio would try to consume the chains as they were made of darkness.

Zack only had a gut feeling about that and decided to pursue it. The results came in his favor and now, he had one up Ezio.

"What you swallowed was made purely from the light element and not dark element. That response was expected." Zack spoke aloud as he thrust Eirias forward towards Ezio's stomach.

The duke clicked his tongue as he barely dodged the sword by a hair's breadth.

At that moment, neither of them noticed that the lines at the back of his face were vanishing at a rapid rate. Zack knew what it meant but hadn't seen it.

As for what would happen when the lines vanished, it would take place soon.
