Tyler's POV

The moment I heard Mrs. Agnes call my name, my whole body stiffened.

What the hell does she want this time around?

Has she finally decided to disgrace me again in front of everyone?

Or maybe she wants to accuse me of being the cheat this time around too?

The thought alone made me scoff.

I didn't even bother answering her. I just kept walking like I didn't hear a damn thing.

"Tyler, please... spare me a minute. Please, I need to apologize to you..."

Her voice was shaky — desperate even — but I didn't give a shit.

Apology?

Now?

Where was this apology when I needed someone to stand by me?

Where was this apology when the whole school was calling me a cheat?

Where was this apology when she stood with Alexis and painted me as the villain without even hearing my own side of the story?

I don't need her apology.

The deed has already been done.

She's only trying to clear her conscience now that the truth is out.

She thinks saying "I'm sorry" would suddenly wipe away everything she did to me — the humiliation, the insults, the way she turned everyone against me.

I kept walking, refusing to even spare her a glance.

If she thought I was going to give her the satisfaction of hearing whatever bullshit she had to say, then she must be out of her damn mind.

She should shove her apology up her ass.

Or better still — shove it up Alexis's ass.

I could hear her footsteps behind me, running after me.

I swear on everything that if this woman falls down and breaks her waist right now, I wouldn't even turn around to check if she's okay.

She can call Alexis to come check up on her.

I tried to ignore her — tried my best to avoid her — but the woman was too damn persistent. Before I could even blink, she ran straight to my front, blocking my way.

"Tyler, please... hear me out."

I stopped walking, letting out a frustrated groan.

God, this woman is so damn annoying.

"Can you please get out of my sight?" I snapped coldly.

"I have a class to attend, and you know how Professor Dave is with his lectures."

That was a lie.

I didn't give two shits about Professor Dave or his class right now — I just wanted to get away from her.

But as expected, she didn't budge. It was like she didn't even hear what I said.

All she wanted was to dump whatever nonsense she had in her mind on me — whether I wanted to listen or not.

"Please, Tyler... I'll talk to Professor Dave myself. Just... please give me a chance to talk."

I clenched my jaw, trying to hold back the anger boiling inside of me.

She wasn't going to leave me alone unless I listened.

"You want a minute, right?" I muttered, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Then your time starts now. Say whatever the hell you want to say... Ma."

I spat out the word like it was poison on my tongue.

Her face lit up as if she actually thought I was giving her a chance — pathetic.

"Thank you... thank you for giving me the chance to prove myself, Tyler. I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry for accusing you during your relationship crisis with Alexis. I'm sorry for painting you as the bad guy without hearing your side. I only just found out that you were innocent... I didn't know Alexis was the green snake under the green grass. Please... forgive me."

I stood there in silence, taking in every single word she said.

Forgive?

The audacity.

This woman really thought a few words of apology would be enough to fix everything?

I took a deep breath and finally spoke.

"Your time is up. I'll be on my way now."

Without wasting another second, I gently pushed her out of my way.

"Tyler, please... you promised to listen to me..." she said, trying to guilt-trip me.

I smirked bitterly.

"I promised to listen... not to reply. You asked for a minute — I gave you exactly that. Now, if you don't mind, I have better places to be, Ma."

I bowed my head slightly — a fake show of respect — and started walking away.

"Tyler, I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me. It wasn't intentional... I swear it wasn't intentional..."

I froze mid-step.

Wasn't intentional?

I slowly turned around, my eyes burning with anger.

"It wasn't intentional when you accused me without hearing my side?"

"It wasn't intentional when you called me a cheat?"

"It wasn't intentional when you stood in front of the whole school and called me a liar?"

"It wasn't intentional when you forgot every single thing I've done for this school just to stand on the same side as the masses?"

I chuckled bitterly.

"With all due respect, Ma... you must be joking if you think I'm going to forgive you."

Her face fell — but I didn't feel a single ounce of pity for her.

I know she's only apologizing because the truth is out.

If Alexis had managed to cover her dirty tracks, this same woman would still be out there leading the way for the bullies and hate comments against me.

"I know I hurt you, Tyler... but please... give me a chance to prove myself..."

"Too bad... you're a little too late. Go hold hands with Alexis... or better still, become besties with her — since you were always on her side anyway."

"Tyler, please—"

She didn't even get to finish her sentence when a voice interrupted her from behind.

"Mrs. Agnes... can I have a word with you?"

I turned around — and when I saw who it was, I almost laughed out loud.

It was one of the teachers.

God bless that man.

Finally.

At least now, she would leave me the hell alone.

"Actually... can you come back later? I'm talking to Ty—"

"We're done here." I cut in sharply, flashing her a fake smile.

"I was just heading to class."

Without waiting for another word, I walked away — leaving her standing there like the pathetic hypocrite she was.

"Phewww... finally!" I muttered under my breath as I disappeared down the hallway.

She should keep her apology to herself.

If the truth hadn't come out, she wouldn't be standing here begging for forgiveness.

None of them would.

Now, all of a sudden, everyone wants to apologize — everyone wants my forgiveness.

Fuck them.

They can all go to hell for all I care.

My mind was still clouded with anger when I accidentally bumped into someone.

"Watch where you're going!" the person snapped.

The voice...

It sounded familiar.

Too familiar.

I looked up — and when my eyes met his face, my whole body froze.

Logan.

"Well... well... well..."

His lips curved into a smirk.

"Look who we have here..."

A bitter smile played on my lips.

Just when I thought my day couldn't get any worse.
