Chapter 561: Chapter 561 Bachelorette party

"Just hand her the clipboard and walk away," Jason hissed during one particularly painful encounter.

"I can’t just walk away. That’s rude."

"Staring at her for ten seconds before speaking is also rude."

"I was composing myself."

But for Bella and Leo, the six days stretched ahead like a gift neither had expected.

They spent mornings on the balcony, wrapped in blankets against the cool mountain air, drinking coffee and watching the sun climb over distant peaks. They took slow walks along the resort’s private paths, Leo’s hand on Bella’s shoulder, her arm around his waist for balance and warmth. They discovered hidden spots, a small waterfall, a meadow of wildflowers, a bench overlooking the valley where they sat for hours without speaking.

Bella read aloud to him from a book she’d brought. Leo listened with his eyes closed, her voice weaving through the quiet. Sometimes he opened them just to watch her, the way her brow furrowed at dramatic parts, the way she glanced up to check if he was still paying attention.

"I’m always paying attention," he told her once.

She blushed and kept reading.

They napped in the afternoons, tangled together in the round bed, the mountain light shifting across their faces. They woke slowly and lazily, fingers tracing idle patterns on skin, lips finding familiar places.

At night, they ate dinner on their private terrace instead of joining the group. Room service, candlelight, the sound of wind through pines. Bella laughed at Leo’s dry commentary about the other guests. Leo watched her laugh and felt something in his chest expand.

"Are we hiding?" Bella asked one evening, tucked against his side.

"Yes," Leo said simply.

She smiled. "Good."

Six days. It should have felt like a long time. But with her, it felt like it would never be enough.

The bathroom door opened softly, and Bella stepped out.

Leo looked up from where he sat on the edge of the bed, and for a moment, the room went completely still.

She was wearing a black dress that seemed to have been designed with her specifically in mind, tailored to every curve, every soft line of her body. The fabric was a rich, luxurious crepe that draped like liquid midnight, catching the low light in subtle, shifting shadows. It hugged her torso intimately, the neckline a delicate cowl that dipped just enough to tease, framing the elegant line of her collarbones and the soft swell of her chest. Thin, barely there straps rested on her shoulders, delicate as whispers. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

The dress fell to just above her knees. The hem was asymmetric, slightly longer at the back, grazing the back of her calves as she moved. A subtle slit on one side parted with each step, offering fleeting glimpses of her thigh, a hint of skin that was somehow more alluring than if the dress revealed everything.

Her makeup was light, deceptively simple, just enough to enhance what was already there. A soft, smoky shadow made her brown eyes look deeper, almost luminous, framed by lashes that curled like dark feathers. Her lips were painted a soft, rosy nude, full and inviting. A delicate shimmer brushed her cheekbones, catching the light when she turned her head.

Her dark hair was swept to one side, falling in loose, glossy waves over her shoulder, exposing the elegant curve of her neck and the delicate gold chain she wore, a thin, barely there necklace with a tiny charm shaped like a crescent moon. Gold hoops, simple and elegant, swung gently from her ears.

On her feet were strappy black heels, the kind that made her legs look endless, thin straps wrapping around her ankles and disappearing beneath the hem of her dress.

She looked like everything he had ever wanted and nothing he deserved.

Leo didn’t move. He didn’t speak. His gray eyes traveled over her slowly, deliberately, missing nothing, the way the dress clung to her waist, the soft gleam of her skin, the nervous little smile tugging at her lips as she waited for his reaction.

"Leo?" Her voice was soft, uncertain. "Is it too much? I wasn’t sure about the..."

"Come here."

His voice was low and rough as he commanded.

Bella walked toward him slowly, the slit in her dress parting with each step, giving him flashes of her thigh. By the time she stood between his legs, his hands were already on her, sliding up the backs of her calves, over her knees, fingers spreading warm against her thighs just above the edge of the slit.

He looked up at her, and his eyes were dark, stormy, burning.

"You’re not going anywhere," he said quietly.

Bella’s breath caught. "It’s the bachelorette party. Hazel’s party. I have to..."

"Hazel can wait."

He pulled her closer, his hands gripping her hips, his face pressing against the soft fabric covering her stomach. He breathed her in, the faint floral of her perfume, the warmth of her skin beneath. His lips brushed against her through the dress, a barely there kiss that made her shiver.

"Leo..." His name was a sigh, a plea, her fingers threading into his dark hair.

"You can’t walk out of this room looking like this," he murmured against her, his voice muffled but clear, "without letting me have a moment. Just one."

He pulled back just enough to look at her again, his hands still warm on her hips, his thumbs tracing slow, tantalizing circles against the fabric.

"You’re stunning," he said simply. "Absolutely stunning."

The words, so plain and sincere, made her cheeks flush beneath her makeup. "You’ve seen me in dresses before."

"Not this one." His eyes swept over her again, lingering at the neckline, the slit, the curve of her waist. "This one is... dangerous."

"Dangerous?"

He nodded slowly, a dark smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Dangerous for me. Because every man at that party is going to look at you. And I’m going to want to remove their eyes."

Bella laughed softly, the sound warm and breathless. "You’re dramatic."

"I’m honest."

She leaned down, cradling his face in her hands, and kissed him. It was soft at first, teasing, just a brush of lips. But his hands tightened on her hips, pulling her closer, and the kiss deepened. His tongue swept against hers slowly, deliberately, tasting her, savoring her.

When they broke apart, both breathing harder, he rested his forehead against hers.

"Let’s go," he murmured. "Before I change my mind and keep you here all night."

She smiled, kissed the tip of his nose, and stepped back.
