Chapter 212: Chapter 212: Ethan Sinclair, Let’s Get a Divorce

Kiana Sutton and Ethan Sinclair returned to The Montpellier Estates together.

The entire way back, there was no interaction between them, and their expressions were quite grim.

Connor Grant watched them carefully in the rearview mirror, feeling uneasy.

Oh no, why does it feel like a storm is brewing?

Once inside the villa, Kiana Sutton didn’t pay any attention to Ethan Sinclair and went straight back to her room.

Sure enough, it wasn’t long before Ethan Sinclair entered with a stern face.

"Regarding yesterday and today, don’t you have anything to say?"

Kiana Sutton looked at Ethan Sinclair indifferently. Her eyes no longer held the joy and excitement they used to feel at seeing Ethan’s handsome face, instead resembling a dead stillness that couldn’t be stirred.

Seeing Kiana Sutton’s lifeless demeanor, Ethan Sinclair’s anger flared up even more, "Things didn’t turn out the way you wanted, so you’re acting like this? What? Are you not going to make excuses this time?"

Ethan Sinclair wanted to believe Kiana Sutton, but the facts were right in front of him.

He had previously told Kiana Sutton to stay away from Quentin Sinclair, but he hadn’t expected her to collude with him. If they hadn’t been acting so intimately, why else would Amy Manning think they were husband and wife?

Thinking about it made Ethan Sinclair’s rage even hotter, his anger causing his chest to ache, "You both left Evercrest Group separately, Quentin Sinclair went to get a room, and you went to dine with Kate. Then Kate was drugged and Quentin took her back to the room. If you are really innocent, how could you appear outside room 2308?"

Kiana Sutton just continued to look at Ethan Sinclair quietly, not even feeling the urge to gesture.

"First failing one scheme and then coming up with another, going to Grandma to accuse and trying to use her to make Kate marry Quentin Sinclair, Kiana Sutton, I’ve given you so many chances hoping you would change. Why do you still want to hurt Kate?"

Listening to Ethan Sinclair repeatedly mention Kate’s name, Kiana clenched her fists tightly and smiled self-mockingly.

"What are you laughing at?"

Seeing Kiana Sutton avert her gaze, he grabbed her shoulders to face himself, and then mocked, "Quentin Sinclair is quite devoted to you, to the extent that he would even claim he likes Stella to protect you."

Kiana Sutton pushed Ethan Sinclair away suddenly. Under his astonished gaze, she slowly gestured, "Are you sure Quentin Sinclair was protecting me and not fulfilling Kate Lynch’s wishes?"

Quentin Sinclair was Kate Lynch’s lackey, not hers!

He declared at that crucial moment that the person he liked was Stella Lynch. With a simple statement of mistaken identity, he absolved himself completely.

He also effortlessly crushed Grandma’s intention of marrying Kate Lynch to Quentin Sinclair.

Actually, when Grandma suggested letting Kate Lynch and Quentin Sinclair marry, Kiana Sutton was taken aback for a moment too.

Right after leaving the hotel disheartened that morning, she received a call from Grandma to go to the old house.

Grandma had her shower and change clothes, and just as she had a bit to eat, the Lynches arrived.

What happened afterward left her bewildered, but in Ethan Sinclair’s eyes, it seemed like she had told on him to Grandma in anger over him spending the night alone with Kate Lynch.

"If he truly liked Kate, he would definitely seize this opportunity to marry her. Why would he say the person he liked was Stella Lynch? For you, with his statement, others wouldn’t doubt what’s between you two."

Kiana Sutton suddenly felt very tired. She quietly looked at Ethan Sinclair, feeling as if the one she had shared a bed with for so many years was now a complete stranger.

She sighed softly, as if making a decision, raising her hands slowly, as heavy as a thousand pounds, to gesture, "Ethan Sinclair, let’s get a divorce."

Only heaven knows how much strength it took for Kiana Sutton to endure her heartache to express these words.

Ethan Sinclair looked at Kiana Sutton’s hands like he didn’t understand what she was expressing. After a few seconds, he came to his senses, grabbed her chin in frustration, glaring at her with resentment, "What are you gesturing? Have the guts to do it again!"

Kiana Sutton expressionlessly knocked Ethan Sinclair’s hand away, stood up, and looked at him blandly, using her slender, beautiful fingers to express the harshest words.

"Haven’t you always wanted to divorce me to be with Kate Lynch? I am making it possible for you."

Kiana Sutton also hadn’t expected she would be the one to bring these words up first.

All along, she had clung to Ethan Sinclair, refusing to divorce, but accumulated disappointment had left her heart completely cold.

He didn’t love her, didn’t trust her. In his eyes, she wasn’t even worth as much as a strand of Kate Lynch’s hair.

Before, she could delude herself into believing he liked her body and would eventually love her as a person over time.

Now, she realizes that no amount of sincerity could change his heart; time couldn’t foster any affection. Ethan Sinclair never liked her from the start, and her love and devotion were futile.

Especially last night, she had asked him not to touch Kate Lynch, yet he still stayed with her.

And today, seeing him defend Kate Lynch like that, he had never once defended her that way.

She loved him so much she didn’t know what to do, but she would never share a man with another woman.

Just the thought of him being intimate with Kate Lynch made her feel nauseous.

"What kind of trick are you playing now!"

To Ethan Sinclair, Kiana Sutton loved him so much that suggesting a divorce was unfathomable. He suspected she was up to something again.

"I’m serious. I came to this home with nothing and will leave with nothing."

Although she had decided firmly on divorce, the thought of becoming strangers with Ethan Sinclair from now on made her heart ache unbearably, and tears flowed uncontrollably.

"Congratulations, Ethan Sinclair, you’re free!"

In that instant, Ethan Sinclair’s mind went blank, filled with an unnamed emotion surging and coursing through him until it gathered in his chest, leaving him irritable.

His expression was grim enough to eat someone, then he sneered, "Knowing your actions this time would be hard to reverse, you use divorce as a ploy. Grandma won’t let us divorce, you..."

Before Ethan Sinclair could finish, Kiana Sutton started gesturing again, "I’ve already told Grandma. She loved me before and let me marry you. Now she agrees to our divorce, and I hope you don’t blame her."

Ethan Sinclair looked at Kiana Sutton in disbelief, not expecting she had even talked to Grandma already. She seemed really resolute about the divorce.

"Ha... Weren’t you in love with me? Why are you so eager to divorce?"

Kiana Sutton smiled softly.

"I do love you, but from now on, I will not love you anymore."

Pursuing a lost cause should have a limit. When she stood outside room 2308 the whole night, she gave Ethan Sinclair a chance.

If he came out before she left the hotel, she would continue loving him.

But she waited the whole night, and he never came out. Her heart, already riddled with wounds, was irreparably broken.
