Chapter 566: Bounding

"Because I was sure that you would come and stop everything." Gina spoke quietly, answering Massimo’s question.

Massimo tilted his head, trying to digest the sentence after sentence Gina had just said.

Seeing Massimo silent and looking confused, Gina’s lips curled slightly, holding back a laugh. "And my belief is proven, you actually came right before Daddy asked Diego to put a ring on my finger."

"So you didn’t argue with your father for that?"

Gina nodded. "Yes."

"Gina, why are you so careless? Why do you have to play around with such things, what if I..."

"But the fact is that you still came, didn’t you," Gina said quickly.

Massimo scratched his non-itchy hair. "Yes but your decision is really very risky, Gina. You should know that you can’t know what will happen in the future. What if I didn’t come yesterday, I suddenly got into a problem that made me unable to stop your father’s intentions to marry you off to that damn bastard? By now you’d really be his wife. Please honey, don’t do that again."

Gina smiled, she slowly took Massimo’s hand and brought it to her stomach. Massimo’s face immediately changed as soon as his hand touched Gina’s stomach, Massimo could feel his son’s movements being very active right now.

"Because he convinced me that his father would come," Gina said in a low, half-whispered voice.

Massimo, who was being hypnotized, felt his son’s movement inside Gina’s stomach, immediately turned his face towards Gina quickly. "What do you mean?"

"You know that a mother and her unborn baby are connected?"

"Of course I know, so what does that have to do with it?" asked Massimo, confused.

Gina smiled a little. "At that time, when I was confused about what answer to give to Daddy, I suddenly felt that our son was asking me to obey, following Daddy’s wishes who wanted to marry me to Diego. At first I wanted to refuse, but I came back like I got the urge to say ’yes’ and I finally decided to accept Daddy’s request."

Massimo blinked his eyes in disbelief, as such a realistic person Massimo felt Gina’s words were too far-fetched.

Gina chuckled. "Do not believe it?"

"It’s not unbelievable, it’s just that it doesn’t make any sense. How can a baby still in the womb be..."

"OK, now prove it for yourself." Gina interrupted Massimo’s words quickly,

"Prove yourself, how can I prove it?"

Instead of answering Massimo’s question, Gina actually lifted Massimo’s hand from above her stomach and moved it away which made Massimo look annoyed and disliked because Gina forbade him to feel his child’s movements.

"Gina..."

"Wait a minute," Gina said softly, raising her hand in the air, stopping Massimo who was about to speak.

The confused Massimo could only obey when Gina asked him not to speak, after three minutes had passed Gina then looked back at Massimo with a smile.

"Now you can touch my stomach again," Gina said calmly.

Massimo, who really wanted to feel the movement of his child in Gina’s stomach, immediately put his hand back on Gina’s stomach, Massimo’s heartbeat was ten times faster when it touched Gina’s bloated stomach. He quickly lifted his face, staring at Gina who was smiling faintly.

"Why... Why can’t I feel our child’s movement, dear? Earlier, a few minutes ago he was still moving very actively. Then now why can’t I feel his movement? What happened to my son? He’s fine, right? ?" Massimo’s eyes filled with tears as he spoke, while his hands continued to grope Gina’s stomach in a frantic way.

Gina pursed her lips. "Your son is fine, he is currently even communicating with me."

"Gina, I’m serious! Why is he suddenly silent? Why can’t I feel his movements? What happened?" asked Massimo frantically.

"I’m serious too."

"Oh Jesus, please don’t torture me like this, honey. Come on, what have you done to our child?" asked Massimo again, his eyes welling with tears as he spoke. It was clear that Massimo was really panicking right now. "I’m sorry, forgive my mistakes if I did wrong to you. But please don’t torture me like this."

Gina, who wanted to teach Massimo a lesson, then smiled a little. "Try communicating with him," Gina said softly.

"Is it possible?"

"Try and see for yourself," Gina answered simply, allowing Massimo to communicate with his son more intimately.

Having no other choice, Massimo also followed Gina’s orders which he considered unreasonable.

Seconds passed, no response was received by Massimo. His son was still silent, not moving as he expected. And Gina herself only smiled slightly when she saw her husband looked confused, Gina knew that Massimo had not done what he wanted. That’s why he kept Massimo groping his stomach.

"Honey," Massimo sighed in frustration. "Come on, I’m really going to die standing this way."

"Have you spoken to him?"

"How? Our child is still in your tummy, how can I talk to him, Gina. Come on, don’t keep joking. It’s really not funny."

Gina pursed her lips, she slowly took Massimo’s hand and held it just above her navel. "Speak to him, from your heart. Even though he is still in my stomach right now, he can know who his father and mother, Massimo. That’s why I asked you to try talking to him."

Massimo frowned. "How? I’m confused."

"Close your eyes, use your heart to talk to him. Do it like the two of you have met, already in direct contact. You’re his father, Massimo. You can certainly do that."

Massimo’s eyes moved to look at Gina who had just spoken, Massimo wanted to make sure that Gina wasn’t working on him right now. After feeling that Gina was serious about what he said, Massimo then closed his eyes slowly and began to do what Gina had said before. Even though he still didn’t get what he hoped for, Massimo didn’t give up and kept trying to communicate with his son according to the instructions Gina gave.

Seconds passed very slowly for Massimo, he was really trying really hard to talk to his son. When almost ten minutes had passed, Massimo suddenly gasped when he felt movement in Gina’s stomach.

"Honey..." Massimo screamed hysterically. "Y..you feel it too, right?"

Gina smiled. "Looks like you made it."

"Are you done?" Martin asked quietly to Thomas who was taking off his gloves which were soaked with Diego’s blood.

Thomas, who still hadn’t fully finished his work, chose not to directly answer Martin’s question, he still wanted to talk to several nurses who were still on standby around Diego’s bed.

"Thomas..."

"I haven’t finished work yet, Martin," Thomas said curtly. "Right now there is one life I must save."

Martin clenched his fists, trying to contain his anger. "Don’t be a hero, Thomas. After all, if Diego dies the happiest person is Mr. Massimo."

"Master Massimo, so what made him so battered is Master?"

Martin chuckled. "Who do you think could have done this?"

"Martin I’m serious," Thomas growled in annoyance. "Mr Massimo hasn’t intervened directly in a long time, but why is he doing this now?"

"Because this person you’re helping deserves all the pain he’s in now, not just once, Mr. Massimo has given him many opportunities to repent and improve. But this bastard named Diego let go of that opportunity many times until Mr. Massimo also lost control and intervened himself to make him battered like this," Martin said quietly by not taking his eyes off Diego, who was currently handcuffed to the iron on the bed. Martin, who doesn’t want to take the risk, chooses to handcuff Diego just in case, remembering Diego who was clever at running away before, Martin finally made that decision.

Thomas took a deep breath. "No wonder you guys guard it very closely."

Realizing that Thomas was being sarcastic, Martin just smiled a little. "It’s better to be on guard than to be in trouble again by him who is so good at hiding."

Thomas raised one eyebrow. "Don’t tell me you’ve been in trouble with this guy before."

Martin clenched his jaw. "He’s kept me awake for two nights, Thomas. That’s why I don’t want to miss out."

Thomas laughed amused at Martin’s words, as a former colleague of Martin’s in the past, Thomas knew very well that Martin was a person who would not stop until he got what he wanted. That’s why Thomas believed hearing Martin’s words that seemed made up.

"Okay then, now you better come with me out. There are many things I want to talk to you about this patient," Thomas said softly as he patted Martin’s shoulder. "Relax, the patient is not going anywhere. He needs serious treatment at this time, you don’t have to worry."

"Serious treatment?"

Thomas nodded slowly. "Yeah, that’s why I wanted to talk to you outside. I’ll explain in more detail."
