Chapter 314: Fustrating Nicklaus.

Geal relaxed his back on the couch in the living room. His right foot was crossed over the other one with a packet of vegetable snacks in his hand.

The flowers and more things Nicklaus ordered have arrived and together with the five people Daniel sent over. He sat down there watching Nicklaus as if he was watching a show.

He loved how Nicklaus’s expression would change from worried, thrilled, anxious, and dumbfounded all in a second. He felt entertained since it was a rare encounter.

Geal watched his friend go through all of his first emotional phases. He also made no effort to help because, to him, Nicklaus was overreacting.

Added to his attitude of overreacting, his friend was too demanding and he began to wonder how he had been able to endure this friend of his for a very long time.

The hired workers did their job best but that never stopped Nicklaus from joining them with doubting minds and an anxious expression.

Nicklaus turned to Geal. His friend sitting down there looking all nonchalant while he paced up and down being all anxious annoyed him a bit.

It wasn’t Geal’s business but at least, he should stand up and say something and not watch him like a movie.

He needed someone to give him words of confirmation or words of disapproval. He needed words from someone and that someone was Geal. He can’t cope with his friend’s silence.

"Does this color fit in this place?" Nicklaus asked but surprisingly, Geal replied to him with a glare and annoyingly began to munch loudly on his snack.

Nicklaus’s brows tightened at his friend’s attitude. His face became a bit hard from stress and he asked again, "What do you think about the color combinations? Would she like it?"

This time, Geal relaxed his head on the couch and hummed on his favorite tune. Nicklaus swallowed.

"Geal," he called.

At the around of his name, Geal shut his eyes and twisted his lips dramatically as he munched.

Nicklaus let out a deep sigh, distressed, "Do you think Arissa would like this?" he half yelled, his voice now stern and strict.

Geal peered at Nicklaus by opening just one of his eyes before shutting both of them again.

This was his punishment for Nicklaus, he planned not to reply to any word from him until he apologized for the curse words. However, he won’t give words out to Nicklaus.

The man should figure his crime out and apologize. In the past, he never cared about apologies from Nicklaus no matter how his friends annoyed him but after seeing how willingly Nicklaus would apologize to his wife even when she’s wrong, it triggered his mind to demand apologies.

He wants an apology for the fact that Nicklaus called him an asshoe for the first time and also an idiot. If Nicklaus does not apologize, he should be ready to ask all he wants and he won’t give him a reply.

And then, an idea came into Geal’s mind. Seeing Nicklaus so invested in flowering the whole house, he decided to do something. Rather than staying quiet as a means of anger, why doesn’t he just frustrate his friend to his satisfaction?

Yes! Frustrating Nicklaus would serve as a better revenge. Nicklaus might go on with the design if he doesn’t give suggestions but the priceless look of worry on Nicklaus’s face would be everything.

He sat up with a look of disapproval and scanned the living room. The place looked amazing but with his nose scrunched up in pretense, he said, "Too much white? Who gave you the idea she would like it?"

Nicklaus swallowed, his heart sinking at once, "She won’t like this? Where do I start all over from?"

Geal scoffed, "Indeed. You were supposed to know she wouldn’t like this. Can’t your smartass mind tell you that?"

Nicklaus’s face fell at once and he looked around the hall. His heart sank in dismay. He wanted words but Geal’s words sounded too harsh and it made him feel a little dumb.

"Give me suggestions," he groaned, rubbing his temples.

"I see, you’re so in love," Geal muttered under his breath and added aloud, "Here’s my suggestion. Why don’t we cancel all of this stress and think of names for my coming nieces and nephews?" he sounded all serious.

Nicklaus frowned, "Is that the only suggestion you can give?" he asked, his tone serious. He hates being taken for granted and right now at this moment, he needs backup for the first time in his life and the asshoe of a friend shows no effort to help matters.

Geal chuckled finding Nicklaus’s emotions funny, "That’s the only suggestion I could give. You don’t expect me to say what I do not mean, do you?"

Nicklaus rolled his eyes, "Fine. If they are the only suggestions you can give, I don’t want to hear anything from you again. Not even your munching sound," he warned.

The threat in Nicklaus’s voice made Geal frown. He wasn’t yet as annoying as Arissa and yet, Nicklaus has the guts to give him cold shoulders after just a small playful section.

"Fine," Geal sulked, giving up his quest to receive an apology, "I’d tell you what I think," he gave in.

Nicklaus’s face lit up and his ears twisted in relief but he did not show it. Rather, he faced Geal, his face sterner, "Tell me what you think,"

Geal rolled his eyes, "For the entrance flowers.." he rubbed his temples in thought and dropped his snacks beside him, like one prepared for business. "You did great and it was thoughtful of you to make it like a walkway border. But I think it would be more pleasing to her if you add a few scented candles beside them down to the staircase and then on the floor, spread some pink or red rose petals on it for her to walk on."

Nicklaus turned away from Geal and looked at what he had done. He imagined Geal’s suggestions and added them to his. He ended up giving a small nod to Geal’s words.

He felt satisfied but not perfectly satisfied. Pinching the bridge of his pointed nose, he said, "How about the lights? Do you think they’ll be too dim? Should I add a few more?"

Geal shut his eyes and took in a deep dramatic breath. He felt like a teacher speaking to a nonlistening student.

"If the lights were too dim and needed more lights, would I not have told you alongside the flowers?" he teased, laughing at Nicklaus’s emotions once more.

"Does this mean everything is now perfect?"

Geal scoffed and shocked his head. He stood up from his seat and placed his hands on Nicklaus’s shoulders, "I understand you want things perfect to her taste which is impossible for now because you don’t know her taste. So what I’ll advise you now at this moment is to relax and set things up."

....and that’s the beginning of a new life for the couple.
