Chapter 380: Their Own World.

Nicklaus stared down at Arissa. His eyes were filled with all the love he had for her. He dropped a soft kiss on her head.

He let out a low sigh when he discovered that no one would ever realize how precious she was to him. No one would ever know. How she changed his world so fast and made it beautiful surprised him. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel-com

He kissed her ear and whispered, "Let’s heed back to the room," he wanted to spend more time with her and the baby before he had to leave. He has a feeling the higher-ups might call soon.

Arissa giggled. The ear kiss tickled her but she disagreed with his words. Tiptoeing a little, she whispered, "Not yet. I feel like we should hang around here a little," kissing the corner of his lips, she continued, "You can go if you want to. I promise I’ll be alright," she tried convincing him.

Nicklaus chuckled, he had almost seen those words coming, "You don’t need to make such a promise. If staying here for a while is what you want, then I agree to it. I’ll keep you company," he told her.

Arissa smiled at him. She raised her hand to his head and ruffled his hair, giggling afterward.

Nicklaus laughed softly and pushed his falling hair strands backward as he let her do what pleased her with him. He loves this side of her that doesn’t hold back

The people in the living room could only watch them and imagine the same for themselves. They refused to be left out and also imagined themselves in the couple position, except for Collins.

The man was having a hard time with himself. Curiosity filled Jocelyn’s whole expression as she wondered what the couple shared among themselves that had to be whispered so romantically.

Nicklaus held Arissa’s hand and walked towards one of the couches. He helped her to lie down without stress while cradling her in his arms.

Arissa shut her eyes afterward and enjoyed the blissful feeling of finding comfort from his hold.

Adele immediately sat beside Collins on the couch and stared at Arissa intensely, waiting for her sister to part her eyes or wake up so that she would throw questions at her.

Jocelyn followed Adele’s footsteps and took the last couch while staring at Arissa. Since they couldn’t wake her up using their hands, they decided to make use of their eyes.

Seeing them so forced on his wife, Nicklaus frowned a bit and stared down at the woman in his arms. He wants her to rest but she refuses to and now she wants to, she decided to do it here.

Arissa’s eyelids opened when she felt intense eyes on her. She smiled slowly when she saw the owners of the eyes and how patient they were while waiting.

Jocelyn cleared her throat before saying, "We want to ask you a few questions but it’s fine if we don’t get our replies,"

Adele shrugged her shoulders when Nicklaus’s gaze settled on her and Collins at the mention of us as if asking them to back off. However, they couldn’t, her ears itched.

Arissa rested her head on Nicklaus’s lap. Stretching her legs on the couch to be more comfortable, she gave them a light nod.

"Hmm," Jocelyn cleared her throat once again. She relaxed on her couch and crossed one leg over the other before asking, "How was Nicklaus’s reaction when you broke the news to him?"

Nicklaus’s brows creased together and pinned a glare on her. What does she want to know about?

Arissa smiled and her eyes sparkled. She raised her face to the ceiling, "Hilarious. I found his reaction comical, he wasn’t even able to hold my stomach at first," she shared.

Collins chuckled, finding it amusing.

Nicklaus stared down at Arissa and met her eyes. She smiled at him and he shook his head in utter disbelief, trying to hold back his laugh.

"I knew it," Adele exclaimed from where she sat and Jocelyn burst out laughing. "I saw it from his expression," she said to Jocelyn.

Arissa thinned her lips and smiled innocently.

Nicklaus leaned in slightly and pressed his lips on hers. Slowly, his hand found her stomach and rubbed on it gently.

Parting the kiss, he said, "I just touched your stomach," he informed me as if he had crushed the challenge.

Arissa scoffed, "Don’t deny the fact that you used the kiss as a distraction. You were so wary about feeling the baby," she reminded him.

Laughing at the end, she stuck out her tongue at him. Nicklaus chuckled at the act as he was left with no other choice but to love her more.

"Next question," Adele brought them back to reality as they seemed to have forgotten about the other occupants in the same space as they were.

Nicklaus barely paid attention to their words as he got lost staring at Arissa. He occasionally tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and listened to her replies to all of Adele and Jocelyn’s questions about the expectations of their baby. Collins did not say a word but only laughed at some questions he found amusing.

"I assume this won’t be you both only child," Adele threw another question at Arissa and the question finally caught Nicklaus’s attention.

He also stared at Arissa expectantly.

"Sure. This baby won’t be our only child," she replied without a bit of hesitation.

Nicklaus’s heart swelled at her response.

"Hmm," Jocelyn hummed as she chimed into this particular question. She passed Adele a knowing look, to which Adele replied with her eyes and they chuckled softly.

This gesture of theirs caught Arissa’s attention and she could not help but ask,." What’s that?"

Adele yawned a little before answering, "You shouldn’t stress yourself with minor issues like this. Your husband would not like it if we stress you,"

Collins shook his head with a small laugh and Jocelyn winked at her.
