His Witch Queen-Chapter 138: Killing Prince
One entire day had passed.
While Alice and Cyrus were still in the middle of the journey of the Ontex Empire, things were slightly peaceful back in the Suzania Kingdom. No one could predict what was pacing around the place.
The smooth functioning of everything was immediately ultimate, to begin with. At this point, King Vilas was standing in the large and giant garden of his late wife.
She loved the flowers of the next core of her heart.
Back in the palace, Dominic sensed his father’s presence again somewhere he had least expected.
But taking a breath from a certain distance, he knew that he couldn’t step back.
’Let’s talk about this with him....’ holding all the confidence possible, Dominic stepped ahead near King Vilas. He stood by his side, which shocked King Vilas too. "Didn’t you say you were going to town today?"
"I said. But I changed my plans because I thought, ``I must talk about this with you." Prince Dominic said, which made King Vilas nod his head. "What is there to talk about? Is everything alright?"
"Ev-everything goes well with me. It’s just that..." For a bit, Prince Dominic had no idea how to start the conversation. It was more complicated than he imagined.
Getting so nervous was never shattering his confidence into different pieces too.
But King Vilas’s eyes were sharper than that of an eagle. He knew how to catch the bird, "You have something serious? Is it about yourself?"
"H-How come..."
"I’m your father. I have the responsibility of the entire Kingdom. Do you think I have been able to sustain at this position without any talent in me?" King Vilas questioned, with his raised brows.
The question was a suspicious one and Prince Dominic had no doubt over it. His father was ultimately an expression reader. Even though he knew his rigid body gotta give double points, he had still held himself at bay to not realize his feelings.
Letting out a sigh, Prince said, "I was thinking, now that Alice is also married, shall I see and think about my life?"
In return, King Vilas rotated his hand to look at his son and then at the flowers blooming in the garden. "Is there someone in your life?"
"Yes."
"Who is she?"
King left no space of negation for him to twist things either. He knew how to bring the main topic out of any site and unfortunately, it was something Prince Dominic hated.
His plan was to twist and beat around the bush. And then, he will reveal things but in different pieces. However, his father’s direct and straightforward question raised many guards.
"S-she isn’t any princess." Prince Dominic replied to which King simply passed him another nod to understanding what he meant by those words, "I can guess. You rarely went out of the Empire to meet someone. Any locals?"
"Yes." Prince Dominic knew how much nervousness rested under his sleeves.
As the future King, he too will have responsibilities to behold. Currently, his head holds the power of the Crown Prince. He can’t just bring the girl and marry her without respecting his father’s wish too.
Simply the power doesn’t bring this value. Remembering how his father was a lonely single person in his life, enlightened his thoughts on the institution of marriage.
He wanted Lisa as his Queen, similar to how his mother stood by his father.
At this point, Prince Dominic maintained the same demeanor as his. He didn’t show much of his expressions, but to give precise information, "She is from the town itself. If you want, I can bring her to meet you."
To this, King didn’t answer immediately. He had no words to define but he simply gazed at the flowers. As if, he was trying to remember someone from the past.
And without any doubt, Prince knew who could be the person to hold and twist his heart in such different manners. "You don’t have to worry, not all tales are meant to end..."
"I hope you don’t face what I faced, Dominic. I don’t want you to go through that pain. It is worse than dying." King Vilas gave free will advice and Dominic could understand his hurt.
At least not because he was experienced, but it was because he had seen how his father misses his mother.
She wasn’t only his love....she was more than being a soulmate to him.
"So..." raising his chin again, Prince saw his father, "What do you say?"
"Bring her to meet me. Give me some time to arrange things in a better way so that no one can know about her." King told him honestly and Prince Dominic didn’t raise any objections to it.
As the obedient son, Prince Dominic was extremely happy that his father gave it a chance, to begin with. A faint smirk landed on his lips, "Thank you so much for considering this."
In return, King Vilas passed him a small shake to acknowledge. But he didn’t move his eyes from the daffodils growing in the garden. The sudden knot in his heart was yet to control.
But then, at the same point, another soldier passed by then to come and bow to both. "Prince and King Vilas... there is something which I need to convey."
Prince Dominic averted his gaze, and glanced in the soldier’s direction with the strict brows, "Hmm? What is it?"
The soldier brought his other hand which held a sword in the casket. It was solid brown colored metal, which made their brows lift up, "From where did you get this?"
"It was found in Princess Alice’s chamber. I thought why not bring it to you." Hearing this, Prince Dominic stepped ahead.
Glancing at the bronze sword in his hand was still overheating.
But on second thought, another frown curved on his face, "Are you sure this was found in Alice’s chamber and nowhere else?"
"Yes, Prince. This is what I got from her chamber..." The soldier kept his eyelashes low, without meeting with anyone else.
Prince’s thick glance was making their heart skip a beat.
Yet to put the end to this, Prince Dominic finally took the sword in his hand to look at it from the different sides. Analyzing things, there was still some time he took to find it somewhat weird in his hand.
"I-I shall.. leave now, Prince." With this, the soldier bowed once again to finally leave the place.
Coming back inside the palace, the soldier took a deep breath to finally find his soul back in his heart. The soldier brought his hand near his chest to feel his heart hammering.
However, there was a tinge of sadness that still rested inside his heart. From the corner of the castle, behind the pillar, Lady Ira came forward. She saw the soldier compassionately before her eyes fluttered together.
"You don’t have to feel guilty about what you did. Ultimately, it’s not like you’re killing him."
"But that doesn’t mean my lady that...I have started this." the soldier solemnly replied but there was a giant grin on Lady Ira’s face.
She wasn’t hesitant about what she asked the soldier to old. In fact, her chin lifted in the utmost proudness to find herself content with her actions to this point.
"No one will find out what is on the sword. What I’m having will kill him solely so you can stay relaxed." saying this, she gave him the motion to dismiss from her eyes.
Without rooting for the lady, the soldier vowed to leave in fear. Whereas, lady Ira turned around to look at Prince Dominic and King Vilas, still standing in the garden of the late queen.
Remembering Queen Barcel ruined her mood. It turned her taste sour, to find that how can a lady like her be enough to be a queen?
’Hah, I didn’t even get the little queen despite being the princess of the prominent empire, yet she thought she could be a queen?’
Even though lady Ira never realized the reason behind the death of Barcel, it provided immense satisfaction to her icy cold heart. Her eyes turned colder than ice, with the smirk only gracing her lips.
At the same time, from her behind, Flora came by herself. She was wearing a beautiful white-bluish gown with her hair braided into the tail fish style. However, instead of happiness, there was the scope of fright that rested in her heart.
"Mother, you know what you’re doing? You are doing this to our Prince, Prince Dominic. W-we have already killed the concubine and now..he..."
"He deserves this." was the simple reply from Lady Ira, but that didn’t bring satisfaction to her mind, "Concubines are still fine. But mother, this time you are keeping your hand on the Prince. Please make sure of not being caught otherwise..the result will not be satisfactory.."
"Don’t worry, Flora." Lady Ira smiled, to avert her head and look at Lady Flora, "This time, Alice Isn’t here. No one can save them from this destruction and..."
"After all, we have the hands of devils on our heads. Who can defeat us? No one, not even a slight anymore.."
