Chapter 179: Abandoned Wife!?!

Alice’s mouth trembled badly. Those words weren’t finished before she saw Cyrus walking out from the chamber.

He left her alone in the entire place where she was stuck to the spot. With her mind going numb, she closed her eyes to not let the drops of the tears flow through her cheeks.

’Don’t think of crying, Alice. It is you who told him...’ constant thoughts clashed to not let herself fall on her knees.

But Alice’s strong power finally laid its guilds down when she fell on her knees, ultimately finding pain in her chest. ’Why.. I didn’t get these powers on my own either..’

The only thought she believed that Cyrus might not leave was also shattered in millions of pieces. At this point, her mind wandered around different thoughts which weren’t even stable.

She tried to get up and stop him from leaving, but her heart didn’t let her do so. She knew it was for his betterment, since he can’t live with a witch either.

But that didn’t stop Alice from feeling the constant heartbreak that caused. Without having any idea, her face turned pale. She brought her hand near her chest to caress it lightly but to no avail.

The solution to this entire scenario appears to be blurred and finally, Alice opened her teary red eyes to look at the sky from the window. "God... please support me in this..."

....

Alice had got out of her chamber after wiping her tears. There was tinge of redness but she made sure to blink her eyes many a times to not let it fall on someone else

Coming across the lobby, she saw a few servants out there. Even though only few servants were aware about Cyrus’s presence, their lips about a vampire living under their roof was still sealed.

Meanwhile, Alice’s eyes fell upon a confidential maid to whom she approached, "Listen... come here.."

Hearing her voice, the lady maid turned around. She walked to Alice and bowed in courtesy, "Yes, Princess?"

"H-have you seen Cyrus? He had stepped out from the chamber. Do you know in which direction he had gone?"

The maid kept her chin low but answered, "I saw Prince of Gazelle Kingdom. He and his few soldiers have walked out from the entrance of our Palace with their horses, my lady."

"Walked out from the gates?" Alice once again asked with the lifted brows.

"Yes, my lady. Maybe they have gone somewhere. I don’t know further." Alice didn’t even dare to raise another question.

She immediately dismissed the lady as her breath got deeper with each passing second. Those eyes turned bulged and she rushed in her father’s direction to the courtroom. Alice held her down and lifted it to run faster. Her hair was flying in the air as the wind hit her face roughly.

But there was joy when her feets stopped in the middle. When she arrived near King Vilas, he stood in the center of the ground. The place was just a few spots away from the main entrance. "F-father... father.. Cyrus, h-he.."

King Vilas deviated his attention to his daughter. Her expressions were the evidence that she had no clue and he was the last resort to her worry. "You are thinking right."

"Cyrus left the Palace with his army, Alice. He has gone..."

"N-no..."

Alice’s face was struck with horror. She didn’t appear less than a ghost. All her senses went numb, so did the heart.

The words contained what she didn’t wish to know. Did Cyrus leave so easily? Did he not think twice before talking to her? Without any conversation?

Did he just... abandon her?

Various questions flashed in front of her. Yet Alice found no answers to the same. Meanwhile, King Vilas noted his daughter’s worse condition. But holding his breath back, he knew she needed to cope up with the loss.

"Alice... telling him the truth was important. If you had kept it hidden, it would have caused more chaos."

"Don’t blame yourself for telling him the truth. One or the other day, it would have been revealed so why not earlier." Alice didn’t react to her father’s words even a bit.

While Alice appeared to be entirely unapproachable, she lifted her gown with her both hands and started to take the steps.

She kept on walking, leaving no clue for her father and General Shane about her destiny. But then her feets stopped and it was just at the entrance of the gate.

Her eyes traced to see the giant wooden gate and Alice simply took the seat near one of the poles of the place which was just a few distance away from the gate. It gave a clear and distinct view of whether the gate will be once again open or not.

"Alice.. what are you even planning to do, mchild?" King Vilas asked with the shutter tone, to which Alice sat on the ground while taking the support of the pole behind, "I will wait... for him to return back to me.."

....

*Next Morning*

The entire day had passed but there was no presence of Cyrus.

From the distance, King Vilas sas standing in the palace balcony to see his daughter idly sitting on the place like earlier.

"She hasn’t bulged from that spot even once, King Vilas." General Shane came from his back to comment and this made King Vilas’s heart ache. "She is being stubborn. He has already left and there is no way he will return after knowing the truth."

"I agree with you, His Highness. But the Princess is starving herself and deteriorating her health for a man who has already left."

Hearing this, King Vilas turned around to face his general and ask, "Did maids not give her food here?"

"They did but as usual, Princess declined." General Shane told with concern.

It came as a shock but Alice’s determination was breaking their hearts. King Vilas shifted his attention back to his daughter, who was still sitting on the muddy ground. The night yesterday was cold, and she didn’t even have a proper sleep with uneasiness.

But at the same time, they saw the shallow eyes of Alice to stare around the different side. Since yesterday, her gaze has been stagnant at one place.

The sudden change wasn’t minimal either when they saw her getting up from the ground. Their eyes caught the sight of her wrapping the shoulders around her which brought a relief to both of their hearts.

"I think, Princess also understood that it is not worth waiting for that vampire Prince." General Shane addressed and King Vilas agreed.

"That vampire will never accept a witch as his wife. He is better to g-" King Vilas’s words were interrupted when both of their ears heard a loud shriek of someone, which caused their heartbeat to race again.

"ALICEE!"
