His Witch Queen-Chapter 182: Black Magic!?
Next morning.
Lady Ira was lying in her room. She slowly opened her eyes, finding her body covered with sour ache.
"Muma!" The voice had pulled her attention.
She devoted her gaze back to her right, finding Princess Flora sitting by her side. "Finally, you are awake. Thank God..."
"W-...?" Confusion filled Lady Ira’s mind. She didn’t understand where she just survived. Why was Flora panicking and thanking God?
As Lady Ira’s brain worked, she moved her head to her right. For a minute, neither did her eyes blink or shift its view. Remembering all the instances of last night haunted her badly. It gave her goosebump to feel the tight grip on her neck.
"I-I’m- n-not d-dead?" Lady Ira’s whisper made Flora shake her head, "You aren’t mother! You know how tense I was because of you? Who else gets out of their chamber so late and roams alone? You never listen to what I say!" Flora’s concerns didn’t bring any joy to Lady Ira.
She was still not able to overcome the fact that she had been living down. Was she once again back to the palace? As she sensed her hands, it appeared so.
"H-help.. I got up..." Lady Ira told Flora and as asked, Flora helped her mother to get back. She helped her stay stable for a time and once again, patted her back, "Mother... Do you need something else?"
In response, Lady Ira shook her head. She traced her eyes to find many maids standing around the bed, "You all, go out. I want to talk with Flora."
"B-but mother, they have herbs. You n-"
"I need to talk to you, Flora. This is more important." Lady Ira told Flora and this made Flora to gulp the saliva.
She could definitely not revoke her mother. Ultimately, the maids were asked to leave and the chamber was filled with the presence of the mother and daughter duo now.
"Flora, listen to my words very carefully now." Lady Ira grabbed Flora’s hand, staring straight into those two eyes. "Someone tried to kill me yesterday."
"Kill you?"
"Yes."
Flora didn’t show the face of acceptance at all. Her forehead was showing the evident frown that telecasted that her mother was very much wrong in her assumptions and incorrect with her words.
"I think mother you have heard wrong. No one tried to kill you though.." Flora’s words clashed with Ira, who appeared totally firm, "Someone did! If not, why is there a sign on her neck?" On this notice, Flora’s eyes went to see her mother’s neck.
But in contrast, she found nothing, "Your neck is perfectly clear. There is no sign as per your talks." Hearing this, Lady Ira wasn’t able to digest what she could see.
At the sudden spot, she brought her hand near her neck and also felt nothing out there. Was this some kind of game with them?
"B-but.. yesterday, that man did try to kill me!" Ira protested, with her bulged eyes trying to overcome the fear which engulfed her, "Flora, I’m telling the truth. Someone tried to kill me last night."
"But mother, if your life was in danger, why did you even go out of your chamber? You should have slept peacefully in your bed." Flora ranged again with the question. "Moreover, we found your body just at the other side of the palace. Literally, who goes and walks for so long in the night and that too without a marshal?"
Flora’s words made Ira’s lips turn straight. She knew that it was hard to believe her words without evidence. ’But was last night simply my dream?’ Then why did this hallucation feel so real to them?
At last, Lady Ira realized a few things. She shifted her position of sitting with her eyes not looking somewhere else. All she did was gaze at her own blanket.
"Who found me there?" Lady Ira’s question met with a simple response, "A soldier found you there and informed all of us. King Vilas and Sister Alice also know."
"In which condition?"
"You fainted there. I remember, your face was almost losing its color. It made me so scared for you, mother." Flora’s words didn’t make sense to Ira.
She held her breath at the bay to not let her mind go through thunder. Despite trying harder, Lady Ira didn’t find any flaws in what she saw last night. It appeared to be almost impossible in her eyes.
’But that man.. it was so clear.. ’ she was for sure, going through the deepest shock she could ever travel through.
Holding her breath, Lady Ira shook her head. Whereas, Flora was seeing all of these functions of her mother. She understood her turmoil but it was hard to let it go as well.
"Mother... what do you think?" She can’t help but ask, "Do you have any other suspicions?"
To this, Lady Ira can’t help but sigh. It lets her heart be blunt with different kinds of emotions. "I think someone is playing with us."
"Mother..." Flora once again didn’t feel like buying such a lie. "It was final that because you were asleep, you were sleeping walking..."
Hearing this, Lady Ira shifted her round eyes to view Ira. This was the utmost joke played in front of her eyes. "Sleep walling?"
Flora nodded.
"Are you questioning that I’m a mad person?!?" This made lady Ira’s mind burst. She never expected such a bold statement from her own daughter, who was suspecting that she is going insane?
To this, Flora instantly shook her head. She dare not utter such a harsh word against her mother. "Not at all mother. I...am just scared because of whatever that is happening to you..."
Hearing this, the anger beneath Lady Ira’s hand soothes. She lifted her eyes to gaze at her daughter to finally shift her attention. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
As her gaze traveled to find the sky outside the window, her face had ruined deeper with the motives lying in the straight lane.
"I firmly believe that it’s because of something else..."
To this, Flora gulped her saliva. "Muma, do you think... these all the consequences of using black magic?"
"Even if this is a consequence, I will bear it all to attain what I crave. In this Kingdom, I will be the Queen and no consequences of black magic can stop me from this. No one..."
