Hogwarts: Bloodline Legend-Chapter 591 - 168: The Boy Who Survived Disaster!
The storefront of the magic wand shop is not large.
It's as if they've stepped into an exceptionally solemn library.
Aside from a bench, the shop contains only a few pieces of scattered furniture, with all other space dominated by towering bookshelves, not filled with books but with thousands of magic wands.
This is undoubtedly the largest arsenal in the British Wizarding World.
"Good morning, dear customers."
The blond boy smiles quietly.
He possesses extraordinarily brilliant golden hair, as if woven from the purest sunlight, with each strand gleaming with a dazzling luster.
Under the soft morning light, his golden hair appears even more radiant, swaying gently as if endowed with life, with countless small points of light seemingly dancing.
"Have we perhaps met somewhere before?" Ian feels a sense of familiarity with this boy, wondering if it was from wandering around Diagon Alley.
While the little wizard is pondering this.
"Maybe it was this morning when you were at the Miaomiao Cat Dessert Shop having breakfast with this lady and her family. I was also there enjoying a matcha chocolate cake."
The blond boy puts down the book he was reading, a wizard-themed romance novel titled "Fallen Witch Falls in Love with Me," making one wonder why such a young boy would like reading such material.
"Is that so?"
Ian tries to recall, but he was likely too focused on the food. Given that the Granger couple was treating him, it would have been a desecration to be distracted by anything else.
"I remember him, this boy was sitting in the corner at the time," Hermione suddenly interjects, her attention lingering on the book's title for just a few seconds.
Hermione used to be quite fond of such romance novels, but now she's only interested in real magic books, as the little witch sees it as a sign of her maturing.
"I also remember encountering this young gentleman while using the restroom at the dessert shop." Mr. Granger recalls, and his wife immediately agrees.
"It's hard not to notice such a charming child, I remember too." All three family members share details, leaving Ian somewhat unsure of himself.
"Strange... I have no impression at all."
He scratches his head.
But he doesn't think much of it.
After all, regardless of the blond boy's exceptional appearance, he's ultimately just another boy, and being a boy himself, Ian finds it reasonable not to have paid much attention.
"We'll have plenty of time to get acquainted as we'll all be classmates in the future. For now, let's help this young lady choose a magic wand." The blond boy kindly suggests with another gentle smile.
"That's right! The magic wand!"
Hermione becomes excited again.
"Such a young, vibrant voice, I think I have a good idea of what type of magic wand you should use." Olivander begins to eagerly anticipate.
"Indeed, indeed, exceptional talent, a competitive spirit. I think those adorable little ones are eager to test whether you're worthy of wielding them."
These words, both serious and earnest from the old man, suddenly make Hermione feel nervous.
"Do I have to pass the wand's test?" Hermione instinctively turns to look at her parents, and upon seeing their clueless expressions, realizes they are as unaware of magic as she is. Feeling a bit flustered, she quickly seeks Ian's help with a pleading look.
"What should you call me?"
Ian speaks slyly.
He's imitating Snape's intimidating tone.
"Ian... little teacher?"
Hermione, somewhat embarrassed, speaks in a voice as soft as a mosquito's. Since meeting that morning, she's been repeatedly reminded by the little wizard to use an "appropriate" title for him.
The reason being that when they eventually encounter other Hogwarts classmates, they should know her relationship with the little wizard is not shallow, so she won't face bullying at Hogwarts.
"It's Teacher Ian, without the 'little'!" Ian isn't fond of teasing, but he had promised to look after Miss Granger at Hogwarts.
"Alright, Teacher Ian, what's going on?" Hermione dares not maintain eye contact with Olivander and, biting the bullet, asks Ian instead.
What can one say.
This is very typical of an insecure mindset.
Hermione, in the original timeline, was the same. It's precisely her insecurity that drives her more competitive nature; right now, what worries her most is Olivander deeming her unsuited for learning magic.
"It's no big deal, it's just Mr. Olivander displaying his craftsmanship. Rest assured, he's certain to find a suitable wand to start your wizard journey."
Ian's view immediately provokes a rebuttal from Olivander.
"Wands choose the wizard, Mr. Prince, this is a proven truth…not everyone has the privilege of choosing a wand instead of being chosen by it, as you do."
Olivander approaches Hermione, measuring her body with a tape measure, seeming intent on correcting the "wrong" idea Ian has instilled in Hermione, emphasizing it several times.
