Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying-Chapter 595 - 198: Masking Spell
Vid considered himself not someone suffering from forgetfulness; on the contrary, his memory was a lot better than in his past life, and even better than most of his classmates.
Barty Crouch Jr.'s assistance in resurrecting Voldemort wasn't a matter that could be overlooked, far more important than poppets and invitations.
So why did he always forget his goal?
Vid held the newspaper, ready to head out, but suddenly stopped and turned to look at the girl on the sofa, who always had a slightly dazed look.
"Luna, do me a favor," Vid said.
"Sure!" Luna placed a bookmark in her book, closed it, and put it back on the bookshelf in the lounge, then asked, "What do you need me to do?"
"Accompany me to the Headmaster's Office, and when we meet Dumbledore, remind me to take the newspaper from my pocket and show it to him."
Vid said slowly, worried that he would stray into unrelated topics before finishing his words.
Faced with such a strange request, Luna simply stared at Vid for a while with her light-colored eyes, then said, "Got it."
The girl put on her coat and walked out of the lounge with Vid, and on the way, she asked vaguely, "Are you bothered by Morphis?"
"Morphis?"
"It devours human memories, but usually only those painful ones. You must have encountered a greedy one."
Luna said confidently, "If you read more of The Quibbler, you'd know how to fend off Morphis; I remember there was a simple spell."
She tilted her head, wrinkling her brow as she recalled some spell whose existence was uncertain.
"The Quibbler?" Vid laughed, "I do want to subscribe to it."
"Really?" Luna asked happily, "Then I'll write down the subscription address and payment method for you when I get back!"
"Alright, thanks."
Vid wasn't particularly looking for the so-called spell against Morphis, he just felt that The Quibbler, like World's Unsolved Mysteries or Science Fiction magazines, was suitable for passing the time.
As they spoke, the two of them had descended to the third floor, where there was a corridor leading to the main building and the tower where the Headmaster's Office was located.
They met Theo and Leach head-on, who greeted happily, "Vid, let's go to the Great Hall together for dinner!"
Vid looked at the time, realizing it was about right, and agreed readily, "Alright!"
Luna looked astonished as Vid walked towards his friends, suddenly reaching out to grab his robe from behind.
"Luna?" Vid asked, puzzled, turning back.
"The Headmaster's Office," Luna asked, "—aren't we going?"
"What was I going to do there... oh!"
Vid suddenly realized, bid farewell to Theo and went with Luna toward the Headmaster's Office tower, apologetically saying, "Sorry, I almost forgot about this."
"It's nothing," Luna said.
"Mmm, mind if I ask?" Vid said, "Do you have something you need from Dumbledore?"
Luna widened her eyes looking at him, didn't speak, but deeply sighed.
Vid, puzzled, "What's wrong? Is it serious?"
"It's very serious..." Luna murmured, "I'll find that magazine for you when I get back..."
"For me?"
Vid didn't quite understand, but he knew Luna was always whimsical like this, so he didn't pursue the question, just pondered silently in his mind.
Magazine... Morphis... Memory Devouring...
Oh right, wasn't he originally inviting Luna to the Headmaster's Office?
Why was he going to the Headmaster's Office anyway?
Vid furrowed his brow, pondering hard.
…
"Peppermint Candy!"
The stone monster reluctantly jumped to the side. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
The spiral staircase automatically ascended.
"Knock, knock, knock." Luna knocked a few times on the door knocker.
"Come in," Dumbledore said, as the door silently opened.
Seeing Vid entering the office for the third time, he immediately realized what the problem was, quickly walked over, and asked with a serious expression, "What's happened?"
"It's actually nothing major, but I feel it's very important to the future of the school, and even the future of the Magic World."
Vid entered, naturally pulled out a chair and sat down, motioning for Luna to sit as well, then said, "Professor, I always think the school lacks a course that fosters students' thinking, morality, or values."
"Students' growth cannot be just knowledge; more importantly, it's how to use the power of knowledge and what to do with it."
He glanced at Luna beside him, nodded secretly, and continued:
"The malicious competition between the academies, bullying among students, bloodline discrimination, and prejudices and injustices from certain professors do not make students better people, only exacerbate conflicts, cause barriers, and even hatred."
Dumbledore nodded slightly, "The problem you mentioned does exist, but eliminating discrimination and hatred is bound to be a long process. Actually, the Maze activity is a very good attempt; it's just that such change is not easy to notice."
"So I feel the school should be more proactive in changing some things."
Vid said, "For example, professors should tell students what actions are right and what actions are foolish and wrong. We could also organize some spirit-sharing sessions or similar activities, letting everyone more directly share their thoughts."
"Why not?" Dumbledore looked at Vid with a smile, appreciatively saying, "Maybe from next semester we can start holding similar activities... I have a very good reason for it."
He blinked, with a mysterious smile.
Vid guessed he was perhaps referring to the Triwizard Tournament, didn't ask further, stood up and said, "Then I'll go back and refine my ideas... those were just off-the-cuff thoughts, and if it really were to be implemented, I think a more comprehensive plan is needed."
