House of The Dragon-A God Amongst Men-Chapter 107 - 80 A.Chapter
Chapter 107 - 80 A.C.
(Third Person POV)
Around two years ago, Dorne had challenged The Crown by attacking the Stormlands and The reach. Due to this, King Jaehaerys had sent Baelon and Aemon to war as a display of strength.
For some reason, House Martell surrendered and offered some nobles as hostages. This was a rather strange tactic that confused Jaehaerys and his council, leading them to believe that it was Drakken who was behind the ordeal.
Drakken, who was unaware of this, denied any involvement in their actions. Despite dealing with in the shadows with Dorne and Casterly Rock, Drakken seemed rather uninterested in the movements that House Martell had make.
The God of War had found them annoying and obnoxious and was willing to delay any meetings as much as possible.
House Drakkengard had been quite neutral as promised and there were not many incidents that involved the Duskguard. The Trinity had garnered much more followers than it had years prior and even managed to have several towns and villages in the Riverlands completely converted.
This was a good thing for Drakken, who was using his religion to empower himself and his draconic beasts, planning something big.
Lady Mya Drakkengard remained as Drakken's loyal mistress whilst raising his heir; Riktor. Daranne Lannister was now Daranne Drakkengard and had given birth to Drakken's second son; Sylas Drakkengard, a boy with blonde hair and red eyes.
Maegelle was now ten and eight, of proper age as waited. It was from here on out that Drakken would seek to have her.
However, Maegelle would refuse him.
***************
[Harrenhal, The Riverlands]
Maegelle jogged behind a young black-haired boy, "M-My Lord!" She exclaimed with worry in her face, "Don't run!"
The young boy, Riktor, was merely laughing as he held a wooden sword in his hand, waving it around as he laughed maniacally.
He ran through the hallway as Maegelle followed frantically behind him, passing by several servants and even more guards.
"Lord Riktor!" Maegelle called out for him as she held her dress, "Please, you will hurt yourself!!"
Riktor turned the corner and suddenly bumped into his mother's leg, "Ah!" The boy cried out
He fell on his bottom and and looked up, blinking innocently as Lady Mya looked at him.
"Riktor...." She said with surprise, "What mischief are you up to now?"
"My Lady!" Maegelle exclaimed as she reached them, "I apologize! It is my fault, he left my sight. He began to smack the young servant girls with the wooden sword and began to run away!"
Mya sighed, "Oh, Riktor..." She said as she reached down for him, "You should be more respectful to your servants. You are to be a Lord, you cannot be that cruel..."
She picked him up as Riktor held the wooden sword in his hand, saying nothing but smirking slightly as he pointed it out towards the window.
"I really do apologize, Lady Mya...." Maegelle said, "I should be a bit more strict with him..."
"It is fine, sweet Maegelle..." Mya smiled, "He is but a free spirit, he inherited his unruliness from his Father...."
"Has Lord Drakken returned already?" Maegelle asked, "Lord Sylas is in need of his Father's attention...."
"He is indeed back." Mya said, "Daranne has met him already.....You know how that one gets...."
"Of course.... " Maegelle said
"Sky." Riktor said suddenly
Mya raised an eyebrow, "Hm?"
Suddenly, thunder was heard, booming throughout the halls of the castle. This caused Maegelle to flinch as Mya merely looked at the window where Riktor was pointing his sword at.
"Oh..." Mya said as she walked over, "It appears that it has waken up...."
Maegelle walked over and stood alongside Mya, seeing that outside, the skies were darkened and lightning began to crackle.
"I see...." Maegelle said nervously, "Everything it takes to the skies, I worry..."
Mya watched as a massive serpentine shadow appeared in the already dark skies, a hint of white feathers on what looked like the edge of a wing was visible through the storm clouds. There was a loud rumble in the sky as even louder thunder boomed.
"Has Lord Drakken's return aroused it?" She muttered, "It seems rather energetic...."
"I hope it does not start a terrible storm...." Maegelle said
"Hm...." Mya said, "We cannot be too sure it will not...."
***********
"Your son, My Lord." Mya said as she walked inside Daranne's chambers, holding Riktor in her arms, "I know that Lord Sylas has been waiting for you, but you have your Heir here."
She stood in the middle of the room as Maegelle was behind her. In front of them, at the edge of the room, Daranne sat on a chair as he wore a dark red dress outlined with golden patterns. Her blonde hair was combed straight, and she had the gold necklace that was gifted to her by Drakken.
In her arms, she held a baby with blonde hair and red eyes. The babe was looking up at the ceiling, his eyes devoid of any emotion and light, almost as if it was uninterested in anything.
Drakken stood in front of Daranne, his hand on her cheek as he looked at the baby, "Set him down." He said without looking back, "He can walk on his own."
"If you say so..." Mya said as she set Riktor down, "Go on, my love...."
Riktor walked over to where Drakken stood, his eyes were on the babe, "Father." His soft voice was heard
Daranne gave Riktor a soft smile, "Hello, My Lord...." She said, "Do you wish to hold your brother?"
"There is no need." Drakken said as he turned around and looked at Riktor, "He is not strong enough for that."
Riktor looked up at Drakken, "I am."
"Your speech is advanced for a boy of your age." Drakken said, "You are getting smarter by the day. I like that. You should be able to start your lessons in no time."
"I..." Maegelle spoke up, "I am trying to teach him to read, he does not listen..."
Drakken raised his eyebrow, "Is that so?" He asked Riktor, "Tell me, son. Why do you not listen to Maegelle?"
Riktor shrugged, saying nothing.
"Hm." Drakken crossed his arms, "If you do not learn to read and write, there is no need for you to wield a sword....what good is a Lord when he cannot do the basic things that is expected of him. Why should I reward you with your own beast to wield if you cannot even listen to my Lady?"
"My Lord..." Mya started, "He is but a boy."
"He is my son." Drakken said as he pointed at Riktor, "Listen to Maegelle, learn to read and write. You are young, yes, but soon, you will be old enough to wield a blade....and when that happens, i will teach you how to be strong. Strong enough to lead my armies, strong enough to fight alongside your brother when the time comes. Do you understand?"
Riktor nodded, "yes."
"Good." Drakken said, "Now.....go on with your Mother. Meet me in the Caverns in an hour, Riktor."
Riktor turned around and walked over to Mya, saying nothing else.
"My Lord?" Mya asked, "What do you need him in that place for?"
"You smother the boy too much, Mya." Drakken said with a serious look, "He is to learn what it is like to be my son, to be a Drakkengard. The eggs are ready."
"My Lord, I do not think it is a wise decision to let him try to touch them." Mya said as Riktor reached her, "It is dangerous."
"You worry too much. Motherhood has really blinded your judgment, Mya." Drakken said as he caressed Daranne's cheek with the back of his hand, "One day, he will no longer be a boy. He will be a man, he will be a Lord."
"But until then, he is a boy." Mya said seriously, "He is my boy."
"Ours." Drakken said, "But if you wish to smother him as much as you want now, go ahead. I will make a man out of him when the time is right."
"If I may speak...." Daranne said, "Lady Mya is correct, My Lord....taking him to the Eggs is a bit too risky...."
Drakken was about to speak when they were cut off by the sound of thunder, the entire room slightly shaking.
"Oh no..." Maegelle said softly, "A storm has begun...."
"It appears the Storm God will keep Riktor from reaching the caverns..." Mya said, "A storm is upon us."
Drakken sighed and leaned down, kissing Daranne on the cheek, "You women..." he said, "You have made me soft....."
"My Lord..." Daranne said as she grabbed his hand, "We know our place...."
Drakken then straightened up, "I was in Essos." He said as he looked at Maegelle, "If you were wondering, sweet Maegelle...."

"O-Oh..." Maegelle said as they could hear the sound of ran, faintly outside the castle, "I see..."
"I killed around a few hundred people this time..." Drakken said as he walked over to her, "And I felt nothing....."
"I understand....." Maegelle looked down, "There is not much I could do about that.... "
"You are Eight-teen now, aren't you?" He asked
"Yes...." Maegelle said
Drakken reached for her hand, "I wish to have you." He said as he took her hand gently, "Would you allow me?"
"N-No.... " Maegelle said softly
Drakken raised her hand and kissed it gently, "You are the reason I am this soft..." He said, "It is because of you I have children.....know that....."
"Right...." Maegelle said
Drakken then looked at Mya, "Should the storm not pass, have Riktor go to bed." He said, "And be in my bed come nightfall."
Mya nodded, "As you wish."
Drakken then walked away, "By the way, Maegelle...." He said as he reached the door, "Your Mother wrote.....she wants to come and see you again...."
"Oh..." Maegelle said, "Is she allowed?"
"I don't care." Drakken said as he stopped and glanced back, "But if your brothers come again, I will have an issue."
"So pray to your gods that they don't."
