Chapter 159 - Conversion II

(Drakken's POV)

"They work fast." I said as I crossed my arms, standing in front of a shrine, "And quite well...."

I stood before a makeshift statue of a dragon resembling Ammaria was erected on the shrine. It was quite surprising how quickly they built something like this. It seems that the fear of destruction is enough to make people work lightning fast.

I should not be surprised, it has been a while since I had done something like this.

"They told me this is but a temporary one." Jon said, "It is made out of wood and stone.....but with enough time, they can work on it and make sure it is a proper one that can withstand time."

I nodded and turned around, "It's fine." I said, "Once we return to Harrenhal, you shall have men bring pieces of the Obelisk, fashioned into the spikes, and embed them into these shrines."

"As you wish." He said freēwēbηovel.c૦m

I looked behind us, seeing the field ahead of us, it was covered in puddles of rain as the sky above was still covered in dark clouds. I know Ammaria was somewhere in the distance, hovering in the skies and waiting for some command.

But I do not think I would give a command to destroy, not anymore.

This is what I want, right?

For others to convert to the Trinity.

I am a God after all, I need all the followers I can get. I need the worship to fuel my power and keep me Divine.

It is a perfect turn of events.

Then, I saw a group of smallfolk approaching us. They looked like they were poor, workers, and some were sick.

I raised an eyebrow, "And these?"

"They were the ones who built the shrine, My Lord." Jon told me

I took a step forward and they responded by stepping back, "Is that so?" I said with a raised eyebrow, "Is that true, people?"

They all stared at me, a bit taken aback by my words. It is as if they did not expect me, a god, to speak to them directly.

One of them took a step forward, "A-Are you truly one?"

"One what?" I asked with a raised eyebrow

"A god...." He asked

I pointed at him, "Come closer...." I said, "I will show you instead of telling."

He did as I told him, stepping closer and closer as he reached me, his entire body trembling slightly.

"My Lord....?" Jon asked

"Don't say a word." I said to him

I reached for the man, touching him on the chest. He was tall, almost as tall as Jon, and was heavy-built. He had the body of a true worker, one who has built many things with his bare hands. I could tell just by looking at him that he was an honest and innocent man. He was unlike the soldiers who fought for the armies of these Lords, those who fought for the King.

He was an Ordinary Man.

"Are you afraid?" I asked him

He nodded, "Y-Yes...."

"Good." I said with a slight smirk

Suddenly, his entire body was shredded completely, blood spraying everywhere as bits of bones flew out everywhere.

There was a loud gasp of pure shock coming from the crowd of smallfolk that watched the whole thing unfold. They saw as the bottom half of the man collapsed to the ground, and blood began to pool around him. They did not know how to react; some were gasping, and others seemed like they wanted to cry in fear.

"Death." I spoke up, causing them to look at me, "Is final. For ordinary humans like yourselves, Death is the ultimate fate. Nothing you can do about it, everyone is bound to die.....but....."

I pointed my palm at the corpse, and everyone watched as his top half began to slowly reform. My Black-Ether Tendirls were injected into his feet, fueling the repairing and bringing him back to life.

In a matter of seconds, the Man's whole body was restored and he let out a gasp of air, as his eyes opened wide.

"Ahh!" He cried out as he immediately rolled over, "W-What?!"

"I control Death." I said with a slight smirk, "War. Conquest. Death. All of those are what I represent. That is what the Trinity is. Sol'Tyr is the Dragon of War; he watches over my Duskguard, and those innocent who worship him will be safe from the destruction and devastation that is my War. Thanatos is the Dragon of Death, he is what keeps my worshippers free from disease, free from natural death. So long as you bear the Mark of the Trinity, you will not die.....until you reach the Expiration; the planned time of life."

They all simply stared at me, a look of bewilderment on their faces.

I extended my arms outwards, "I am Drakken." I said with a menacing tone, "I am the God of War and Death. And my Storm Goddess, Ammaria, has plunged this land into an eternal Storm. The only way to satiate her wrath is to become part of the Trinity."

They all got on their knees, looking down as some of them began to pray.

"O' Drakken...." some of them said in unison, "Please spare us.....Great God of War.....Great God of Death....."

I glanced at Jon, who was a bit surprised by this and I gave him a nod.

I then looked back at the people, seeing that they were all prostrating, taking in the sight of a God.

"If you truly wish to become part of the Trinity." I started, "At the end of every month, you shall visit any of my Storm Shrines and you shall give offerings, you shall pray, and you shall worship. You can offer anything: possessions, food, ale, blood....but you must not take the life of an innocent. I shall send priests to the Stormlands to guide you all...."

"Yes, Lord Drakken...." the Man who I killed said as he was on his knees, "We shall ensure your shrines are properly built and maintained."

I nodded, "Starting today...." I said, "Every year, Ammaria will begin her storm....and a proper offering must be prepared to spare the lands from the Great Tempest. Take the offering to the Great Shrine at the crater. I will have it built in a matter of months, worry not. What I want from you lot is to bring more to my side, ensure that they know that I walk among them."

"A God Amongst Men...."

[Harrenhal]

"Alas, we have returned." I said as I walked through the doors of the dining room, "My women, I am sure you have missed me."

I saw that both Mya and Daranne were sitting on the table, eating from the food that was served in front of them.

Daranne's eyes lit up, "My Lord!" She said as she stood up, "It is so good to see you!"

She walked up to me and hugged me and I caught her in my arms.

"Hm..." I said as I smelled her hair, "I missed your scent, my Daranne....."

"I am glad you think of me..." She pulled away, "Even when you are out having your fun."

I smirked, "Always." I said before looking at Mya, "Ah, my alluring Mya...."

She was drinking wine from her cup, "I am rather offended you did not think of bringing me along for the fighting." She said, "You disappoint me..."

I walked over to her and leaned down, kissing her on the cheek, "I have nothing but trust in you, Mya." I said, "Keeping my sons and my castle tidy while I am gone."

"My Lord." She set the cup down, "What is this I hear about an attempt on your life?"

"Oh. That." I straightened up, "You know that Sword that you were so worried about?"

"Is it real?" Daranne asked

"No." I said, "It was all fake. I fabricated that whole thing. It was hilarious, you should have been there."

"I would have loved to." Mya stood up and looked at me, "But you kept us in the dark."

I raised an eyebrow, "Are you angry?"

"Maybe." She said with a frown

"Well, it doesn't matter!" I said as I cracked my knuckles, "I had my fill of fun! War.....destruction.....everything was left in ruins!!"

"Grayle." Mya said, "He left and came back. Was he the one who destroyed Driftmark?"

I nodded, "Yes."

"Hm." She said as she walked away, "You should have told me, My Lord. I could have prepared ourselves for his emergence."

Daranne walked up to me and hugged my arm, "Worry not about her." She said, "She was quite worried, that is all."

"Is that so?" I said, "Oh, Mya, my alluring vixen."

Mya stopped and looked at me, "Yes?"

"I need some Priests to prepare to go to the Stormlands." I said, "Choose some from our group outside the castle. They are to go with the Duskguard who will take a piece of the Obelisks to the Storm Shrines."

"Storm Shrines?" Daranne asked

I chuckled, "Things have gone remarkably well, my dears." I said, "I have converted around a thousand of smallfolk in the Stormlands. With time, those thousand will turn into tens of thousands. I am sure of it."

"I see." Mya said, "I will have it done."

She turned back around and began to walk away.

"I have not dismissed you." I said

She stopped and glanced at me, "My apologies."

I smirked slightly, "I want you. The two of you. Tonight." I said, "After I spend time with my boys, I want you two to be in my bed come nightfall. As a personal apology, that is."

"That sounds wonderful." Mya said, a slight smile on her face, "May I be excused? I desire to see my son."

I nodded, "Sure."

As she walked away, I felt Daranne hugging me more, "My Lord...." She said, "I am so glad you are back. Please tell me you won't leave unannounced again."

I chuckled, "I am satisfied." I said, "There was a lot of bloodshed....a lot of destruction.....I can wait a few more years to start the next war. The Riverlands.....Dorne.....The Stormlands.....that makes three regions that have felt my wrath..."

"Soon, the entire Realm will learn."
