Chapter 731: Chapter 731: Two Gatherings

At first, a handful of old aristocrats relied on their seniority to stir up trouble, leaping about in agitation. However, once the higher authorities dealt with several of them using thunderous, merciless measures, the rest finally realised that this time it was no joke—

The royal family was genuinely planning to disband itself.

No matter how hard those old fossils racked their brains, they couldn’t understand what had gone wrong inside the heads of the royals. If this world hadn’t possessed supernatural powers, they might have already launched a coup.

And right as the situation grew increasingly bizarre and volatile, a "For Sale" sign was hung outside Count Hall’s villa. The household’s valuables were loaded onto carriages one after another, preparing to head to the docks and depart for Intis.

This had been arranged long ago between Count Hall and Roselle.

Although Roselle had reclaimed everything Intis had once lost, having become a god, he was clearly no longer interested in secular authority—nor could he possibly spend time governing a nation. Thus, he simply set up a constitutional monarchy framework and left the rest to be sorted out by those below.

Under Klein’s leadership, the City of Silver and Moon City also departed from the Forsaken Land of the Gods and entered the outside world. On a large island in the Rorsted Archipelago, they began constructing a new City of Silver and a new Moon City.

In addition, at the very moment Edward completed the dimensional ascension, the Harry Potter world and the world of mysteries became connected. However, Edward did not rush to fully open the passage between the two worlds—just as with the Eastern and Western Continents.

There were still countless matters to attend to...

The entire world was undergoing drastic changes, transforming with each passing day.

The Tarot Club ushered in another gathering.

———

On both sides of the mottled long table, streaks of deep crimson light rose simultaneously, freezing into the figures of The Hanged Man, The Sun, Justice, The Magician, and the other members of the Tarot Club.

The turbulent changes across the Southern and Northern Continents in recent times had caused everyone present to vaguely sense that something was amiss. Those who were unaware of the truth all suspected that some major event had occurred—but no matter how they inquired, they could not obtain any useful information.

As a result, everyone had been eagerly anticipating this gathering.

Audrey swept her gaze around the table and, as usual, stood up. Once the other Tarot Club members rose in turn, she lightly lifted the hem of her skirt and bowed toward the head of the mottled long table.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Fool~"

The remaining members of the Tarot Club, some puzzled and some curious, followed Miss Justice in completing the customary greeting.

Then they quickly realised something was wrong.

Two people were missing from the gathering—

Mr. Emperor and Mr. Tower.

Their hearts immediately tightened as they silently speculated whether something had happened to these two powerful members of the Tarot Club.

At this moment, the Fool seated at the head of the table chuckled softly. With one arm folded across his chest, he took a crystal-clear monocle from his pocket with the other and unhurriedly placed it over his right eye.

"Good afternoon~ everyone."

"!!!"

Aside from Lilith, who already knew the truth, everyone else—including Audrey and Bernadette—was instantly stunned.

In their minds, all information related to Amon flashed by at lightning speed, leaving behind a single, terrifying thought:

Amon!

Amon has stolen the Fool’s divine position!!!

"Ha—just kidding."

As shock and fear spread through the room, the person seated at the head burst into laughter. Leaning back against the bronze chair, he looked at the variously colored expressions around the table and said with a grin,

"However, I really am not the Fool. You may address me as..."

"Mr. Chairman."

————

Meanwhile—

In another region, split off from Sefirah Castle.

When Klein took four steps in reverse through the enveloping grey-white fog and entered Sefirah Castle, he immediately sensed that something was off.

Why has my long table turned into a round table?

Why has my ancient palace become a small garden?

What the hell is going on?

While his mind was still full of confusion, streaks of deep crimson light suddenly flickered around the round table. Eight figures appeared in an instant.

Klein immediately sensed that every one of them was at a higher Sequence than him.

And among them was none other than that bastard Roselle.

"Heh—long time no see, everyone!"

Roselle laughed cheerfully.

"More than a hundred years without seeing each other, and Miss No-Head really doesn’t have a head anymore. Mr. No-Characteristics has even lost his Sequence 1 Beyonder characteristics this time. Oh—and Mr. Not-Quite-Dead did survive, but holding a 3+1 set and still being unable to complete the ritual to advance must feel really awful, huh?"

"Not-Quite-Dead" Medici crossed his arms and snorted coldly.

"As expected, the best hunter seedlings are always in other pathways. If you’d jumped to Red Priest back then, there wouldn’t have been any place left for me."

Roselle pressed his hand over his chest and bowed theatrically.

"Hahaha, you flatter me, you flatter me."

Then he turned to look at the four additional members.

"Mr. Chariman, may I ask who these four new members are...?"

Klein was on the verge of breaking down.

You’re asking me? Who am I supposed to ask?!

Wasn’t I supposed to be calmly hosting the Tarot Club?

How did I end up in another gathering full of nothing but top-tier monsters?!

Black Emperor Roselle went without saying.

The one without a head was obviously Miss Messenger.

The old gentleman without characteristics seemed to be that Grandpa Pallez inside Leonard.

The one bickering with Roselle was the Red Angel, Medici.

As for the extra four—

The one who still insisted on eating ice cream even while attending in spiritual form could only be the Snake of Mercury Will.

The calm-faced man appeared to be Mr. Azik.

As for the remaining child and the long-haired man, Klein had no idea who they were.

"Oh? You actually dragged me into Sefirah Castle," the unidentified child suddenly said. "So this is what they call a point-blank ultimate move? Interesting."

He took out a monocle and placed it over his right eye, then looked at Klein.

"Hello there, Mr. Chairman."

Holy—

It was Amon!

At that moment, the long-haired man suddenly stared fixedly at Little Snake and said in a dull voice, "I’ve finally found you, Will Auceptin."

"???"

Will froze, then turned pale in horror.

"O-Ouroboros?!"

—Oh crap, don’t tell me Edward wasn’t even willing to let me borrow his status to reboot and instead specifically dragged me here to hand me over to Ouroboros?!

At the very least...a person shouldn’t be this shameless, right?!

At this moment, Roselle rubbed his hands together excitedly, unable to contain himself.

"Hurry up, hurry up! I’ve been waiting forever to watch this show! Declare it already, President!"

Declare what exactly?!

Klein couldn’t help pressing a hand to his forehead, frantically signalling to Roselle with his eyes—

Roselle! It’s me! Klein! I’m your Fool, not some Chairman!

Bang!

With the explosive pop of celebratory fireworks, banners materialised all around the small garden. Written across them in Intisian, Loenese, Jotun, Hermes, and various other languages were the words:

"Warmly Celebrating the Grand Opening of the Third Misery Contest!"

On the left and right sides of the garden hung two paintings.

One depicted Amon, blurred and indistinct.

The other depicted Will, equally hazy.

The two paintings faintly formed a confrontation, with flashes of lightning, thunder, and fire constantly crackling between them.

The four individuals who had already participated in previous Misery Comparison Conferences felt their hearts leap with joy at the same time.

Yes!

This is it!
