Humanity.exe-Chapter 54: Whispers of War

I woke up to the sound of gunfire outside which would normally be considered normal but this place wasn’t that bad. So obviously it was time to get ready, I jumped out of bed and got into some decent clothes before rushing out of my room.

My steel was already with me so I was ready for any sort of situation right now, even if it meant killing this early in the morning.

"Boss you’re awake! Some guys are fighting outside the headquarters!" A member shouted with some concern in his voice.

"I’ll check it out!" I shouted back as I ran past him.

Whispers of war don’t seem to be whispers anymore. Seems that it started and I thought it was just going to be a war against us alone.

I’m glad I was wrong since that means we aren’t the only target of those gangs out there. Seems not every single one of them has it out for us.

I’ll be more than happy to assist in wiping out multiple gangs though. This will make our lives a lot easier since we can avoid any problems with them going forward.

"Zero it’s about time you’re awake. What do you want to do here?" Reika asked with some concern in her voice.

"Rezex and a few others will take positions from above and take some shots, wipe out however many you can." I responded with a calm, yet serious tone.

"Good thing I happened to be here waiting." Rezex chimed in.

He immediately ran past me to get to work. Reika was still standing there with me since I didn’t really give her any orders yet.

"What do you want me to do exactly?" Reika asked with curiosity.

"Monitor everything and make sure no one tries to attack here. I’ve got to get to work myself now." I responded before walking away.

It was time for me to get some high ground as well since I’ve got this powerful sniper on my back. I started running down the hallway until I found the exact room I was looking for.

It had a window that gave just the right amount of room to jump onto one of the other rooftops. So without any worry I immediately began to run and before I knew it, I was already across on the other rooftop.

This really has become quite normal for me to do. I’ve gotten so used to moving across places and even killing is normal to me. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Kairox can turn any normal person into a killer within a few days of being here. That’s just the effect this city has on everyone who enters it.

But I loaded up the LZR-01 and started to look down through the scope at the guys below. It didn’t seem like it could be either of the gangs that were out for us.

They looked like completely new gangs that I’ve never even seen before but then again, I have never seen the outfits of the gangs who want me dead.

Bang!!! Bang!!!!!! Crack!!!! Shots started going off from behind me on some of the other rooftops.

Seems Rezex and the other members be got are making some progress now too. I believe it is best that I also start to take some shots since I have everything I need.

Killing is something I’ll never let myself get rusty with again, nor will I be the type to spare anyone going forward. It doesn’t really help in the long run.

That day... I don’t know why I let the other guys live.

KRRRRZ- CRACK!!!! BANG!!! Hearing the LZR-01 start up like this again was nice. It was music to my ears, I kind of missed the sound of it firing off.

Bodies were starting to drop all over the place from me, Rezex, and the other members of Kuroten. We were killing as many people as we could since it was all out war at our front doors.

1, 7, 15, 20. The bodies were adding up with the more shots that I fired off but why were so many out here.

If gangs this big are fighting outside our front doors, what is going on exactly? Why wouldn’t they work together to wipe out Kuroten instead since we are definitely smaller.

We’d have a harder time holding off armies like this so it would’ve been smarter to work together. Actually, why am I questioning stupidity.

It works in our favor anyway so it doesn’t really matter if they want to fight against us or not.

Dying like this will make our lives better so they can just die like the scum they are anyway. No need for me to stress the details when they want to fight at our doorstep anyway.

About an hour passed before the remaining members started running away after realizing that we were firing at them as well. The bodies on the streets down there were quite a lot.

We’d probably have to help with cleaning them up at some point or another. Maybe some of these mana infused bullets can do the trick.

I forget how powerful these bullets can be with the mana that I have within my arm. It would probably help clean up a lot of these bodies with ease.

But regardless I’m sure it’ll get handled at some point or another. Nobody likes seeing bodies in the streets, literally nobody. They’ll be cleaned within a day or two.

At least that’s one thing that everyone seems to be in agreement on around here.

"Seems they have all run off." Rezex said over the comm.

"Seems so." I replied back over the comm.

That didn’t last as long as I thought it would which is fine, but it would’ve been nice to wipe out whole gangs. They definitely still have enough members to keep functioning.

I’m sure we’ll see whoever they were, again. This won’t be the last time that we deal with dumbass gangs like them.
