HUNTED-Chapter 358: By the candlelight (1)
Damon gently kissed her, but before she clung to him and things turned heated from all the emotions running high, he pulled away and started to lower to the ground, bringing her with him. As she sat on the large blanket, adjusting her skirt, Damon began to pour the red wine into large wine glasses, handing her the other one. He lay on his side, elbow against the blanket, hand keeping his head up.
Looking sexy and confident in his pose.
They clinked their glasses together, smiling as Aila’s eyes roamed their surroundings again. She took a sip, and her eyes fell on her mate again. "This is so beautiful. Thank you. Is this a special occasion?"
Damon smirked into his wine glass, eyes locking with hers. "Does this require a special occasion? I wanted to treat you." He sipped from his wine and continued in his low, sexy voice. "I wanted us to get away from the chaos and to focus only on us."
Aila nodded at that. "Yes, this does feel refreshing and wonderful. Oh… We need to get some photos." She already knew they would not be able to hold off long without shredding each other of their clothes. Preferably, just remove her dress; otherwise, she would have to shift and run back.
Something about driving back naked didn’t really appeal to her.
Surprisingly, Damon did not object to another small photo shoot. He pulled her back into his body while they took a few selfies with the candles, fairy lights and basket. It didn’t look real, but it was beautiful.
They took some more with the lake and forest behind them as well before she put his phone down, and she snuggled into his chest, her back leaning against him, his legs wide to accommodate her.
Damon was gently stroking the side of her arm with his thumb and kissing the side of her neck, putting his wine glass down on the side. Aila’s neck fell back as she leaned into him more. His chuckle ricocheted through her body, sending heat from her neck to her core. But he stopped and kissed her cheek, a smile in his voice. "Shall we have something to eat?
It’s not our usual large meals, but I went for.. romance."
Aila followed his line of sight. She wanted to rip his clothes off now from how he had been teasing her, and this whole romantic atmosphere was a stir, but she nodded. Damon moved away from her slightly, reaching into the basket and started bringing out cheeses, grapes, strawberries, cured meats and olives and other snacks. Aila picked at the olives, cheese and meats, watching her mate as she did so.
"How are you feeling about Monday?" Aila asked after popping an olive into her mouth and washing it down with some of the wine.
Damon shook his head. "No talk of work." He smiled and leaned down on the side again, watching her. "How about…" His hand trailed up her calf playfully, eyes locked with hers. "We talk about our future.. like.. pups."
Aila blew out a breath. Her heart and stomach warmed from his words, and she found his face utterly adorable right now as he peered at her both confidently and with the first signs of nervousness settling around the edges of his light silver eyes.
"Of course, I want children.. pups.. Maybe not quite this second?" Aila chuckled, halting his hand on her leg. "Don’t you think we have enough to deal with right now? Besides.. I may have adjusted to this world..
And I’m all for the mate bond and everything, but it’s been less than six months we’ve been together-"

"We’ve known each other most our lives.." Damon interrupted with a slight pout, his fingers making small circle patterns now on her thigh where the slit in her dress was.
It was very distracting. "I know.. I do want children, just not yet.. I’m still young and trying to manage this whole Queen thing, looking after thousands of werewolves and pups before even having our own," she said thoughtfully.
"They will always come first," Damon growled, already the protectiveness of a future father coming out. His eyes glowed again, and his voice deepened, indicating Darius was now in control. "You and our pups are the most important things in our lives."
Aila caressed his face and nodded. "I know.. I was just explaining our situation now. I want to give them my full attention, and right now.. I still have to graduate university, help solve this crisis Cass has put us in and take control of the southern packs," she said gently.
Darius gave her a light, playful nibble on her hand before replying, "You have us to help with all of this, mate."
Aila nodded. "I know, it feels like a lot right now, that’s all."
At her response, he kissed her gently on the lips, taking her by surprise. Darius did not do gentle. To her obvious surprise, he chuckled, pulling back and stroking his thumb across her bottom lip. "Don’t keep a wolf waiting too long for pups. I’ll pleasure you for weeks until you succumb to me," he winked, but Aila knew he meant every word of it.
A thrill went through her at what Darius might possibly do to her. But she shook it off. "Give me a few years," she whispered and watched one of his eyes return to normal, and the other remain like the glowing orb.
Both Damon and Darius were in control?
They nodded in response. "Six pups, yeah?"
Aila burst into laughter at his joke. But his face was deadly serious. "You’re not joking?"
Damon took the reins, his eyes returning to normal as a small smile curved on his delicious lips. "We can discuss that at a later time."
SIX PUPS!?
Damon wasn’t joking. Six children? Aila followed the glimmering lights across the water, her lips twitching as she imagined six children running around with black hair and blue eyes, causing chaos for her and the pack. But that was a big toll on a woman’s body.
"Werewolves have stronger bodies.." Damon kissed her lips again, regaining her attention. "Don’t worry about it for now, angel. It just means I get to be greedy with your time until we do have pups."
