Chapter 293: Breaking in

JASMINE’S POV

I stared at the men Louis had hired. As I assessed them, I felt that this would be enough to raid Kolton’s place. Then I looked down at the guns in their hands and turned to look at Louis, who had a gun ready as well.

"I’m sure you understand why we have to take these measures," Louis told me as he presented me with the gun in his hand.

I nodded my head in understanding.

"Yeah, I get it," he said to him. Hopefully, things wouldn’t get to the point of actually having to use the guns. But we had to take precautions and ensure that we were prepared.

"What about work? Will you be able to take a break from work?" I asked.

"Don’t worry about it. I have it handled at least for today and tomorrow," he told me.

"Father?" I asked, a little confused, why he necessarily needed to communicate with his father.

"Yes. Oh, right, I forgot to tell you. My father has made me the acting CEO of the Carrington Group."

"What?" I asked him in surprise. "Louis, this is amazing! But how? What happened to your brother?" I asked. I was surprised by this. It seems so much had happened when I was at Keith’s estate.

"Well, let’s just say it’s thanks to you."

"Me?"

"But I’ll explain on the way," Louis told me. "Let’s go before Keith gets here," Louis said.

"Yeah, he’s definitely going to come here," I told him. "That means we might bump into him if we return here," I said nervously.

"I’m not sure if we’ll return here, but I’ll for now let’s just focus on Tony," he told me.

I nodded my head in agreement.

He turned away from me and made to leave the foyer of his apartment.

" Louis, wait," I said, then grabbed his arm.

"What’s wrong?" He asked me as he turned to face me.

"Thank you, Louis, for all of this," I said to him gratefully. He was taking away time from work. He could get in trouble, and then he had prepared so much in advance to look for Tony.

I wished I had started the investigation with him instead of Keith. I felt so supported and seen.

"I want to do this, so don’t worry about it. Let’s find Tony," he told me before he squeezed my arm and gave me a reassuring smile.

He then turned away from me and took my hand as we walked out of his apartment. We had spent just over an hour in his apartment planning how we were going to break into Kolton’s house.

We went down to the garage, where Louis let me into his blue Chevy that was waiting for us. Louis’s men followed us to the garage as well. Behind the Chevy were several black vehicles that they would be using.

We got in the cars and drove off in the vehicles.

It took us about half an hour until we arrived in the neighborhood where Kolton’s mother’s house was.

"Now we have to figure out how to get inside," I said.

"We breach security and force our way inside. If he’s got Tony in there lets not waste any time and get to work. I suggest we wait for nightfall and then we go in," he said.

"But if Tony isn’t inside?" I then asked feeling worried. We would have broken into Kolton’s home for nothing.

"I’m not saying this to calm you, but I will say it’s highly unlikely that so many coincidences in this case point to Kolton. He has a motive. That Kensington woman said she saw Marco’s eyes with an eye colour that conveniently matches Kolton’s. At this point, we’re looking for reasons not to blame him,"

I nodded my head as I agreed with his points.

"It’s him. It has to be. Unless something unexpected happens."

"I hope so," I replied.

In the remaining time, Louis and I looked at the map and the overall plan of the house.

When evening came, Louis gave the order to his men to break into Kolton’s house.

Louis reached into the bag he brought and took out two black ski masks and some black leather gloves.

"Here put this on. We don’t want to be identified, do we?" he told me.

I took the mask and gloves from him and quickly put them on. As did he. Louis took out a walkie talkie which he was going to use communicate with. He asked the men if they were ready and they alll confirmed.

"You ready?" He said.

"Yes," I replied.

We got out of the car and went towards the property.

As we arrived at the street m

"There are two guards stationed by the entrance, sir," one of the men spoke through the walkie-talkie. " We’ll let you know when we’re done."

"Okay," Louis responded.

From a bush, we watched as the two men went towards the gate.

"Handled, sir," the message came through the device.

"It’s go time," Louis said as he had us go to the gate. It was opened for us, and we entered. We found a small cabin-like house. Which I believe served as the guardhouse. We found the two guards of the property tied up and apprehended inside.

"They are armed, sir," Loui’s men informed as they pointed to the two guns on the floor.

The rest of Louis’ men then came in through the gate.

"Handle everyone else on the property, be cautious of them possibly being armed."

"Yes, sir," they said.

"Make sure no one calls for any help. We want to conduct this without as many hindrances as possible," Louis continued.

The men quickly spread out as they walked away from the guard’s house. Scouring the property looking for the rest of the guards around. Louis and I patiently waited.

The door was opened wide.

"Well then rejoice not all hope is lost you might still have work." He said to the omega.
