Chapter 295: The drawing

JASMINE’S POV

I looked at the drawing I felt Tony had drawn. He had intentionally left that letter here. He wanted me to find it. What a clever boy. He hid it so he wouldn’t be found out. If it weren’t for this we wouldn’t be sure if Kolton had actually been the kidnapper. Thank goodness for your smart thinking Tony.

When I think of all the things he must be going through, it breaks my heart. My mind went back to the photos taken of him tied up for the ransom note.

’I’m coming Tony,’ I said to myself. With 3 days till the the end of the week I hope to make it in time.

"Let’s prepare for the journey to Kolton’s place," Louis said to me.

"Okay," I agreed.

We left the estate guards by the entrance where they were tied up.

We went to the dining room where we were taken. Louis took out his phone to checked the maps. I noticed his facial expression darken as he looked as he briefly read something.

"Louis?" I called out to him wondering if something was wrong.

He quickly out of it and changed whatever he was looking at scrolling to something else. He then showed me his phone screen and it showed a map of the country.

"Right, so Kensington is here," Louis pointed at the map. "Kolton’s home is located here in Redwood a small town/commune about 2 hours by car from Kensington."

"The city he works in is called Ortega and is close to Redwood," I added. " About half an hour from Redwood."

His home is kind of wedged between the two cities but it’s closer to Ortega.

When I first put up Kolton as a suspect back at Keiths estate I didn’t think much of the fact that he lived in Redwood. Although he was close to Kensington, Redwood was much closer to the city he worked in. I wondered why he didn’t purchase a home directly in Ortago. I thought it could be due to cheaper land prices. However, it seems like there was more to it all along.

"Kolton’s house is about a 4 to five hour drive from here," I said as we looked at the map on Louis phone.

" It’s 11pm now, we should arrive early tomorow morning," Louis added. "But we’ll also need to factor in the time we’ll need to plan to break into that mansion. If Kolton is there and thats were he’s keeping Tony, the security could be much tighter than here."

I nodded my head in agreement. The thought made me nervous.

Last time we went to Kensington we took the train because it was faster but now we had several men moving with and we had weapons. So țrains definitely weren’t an options this time around.

"Alright, let’s go,"

Louis turned to some of his men who were standing nearby.

"I want the the four of you to stay here watch everyone here until we sort the situation out tomorrow," Louis ordered them. " Make sure no one contacts anyone here. We don’t want Kolton to know of anything that transpired here. Unless the communication is important.

"Yes, sir," they answered.

Louis then turned to me. He didn’t have to say anything for me to know he was saying we should go. With the four guards Louis had ordered staying behind to watch over the property, Louis, myself and the rest of his men exited the property and returned to our vehicles.

Louis’ phone began to ring. He looked at it with a concerned expression .

"Whats wrong?" I asked immediately knowing something had occurred. I tried to look at his phone before he canceled

"It’s nothing, don’t worry about it," he told me.

"Doesn’t seem that way to me. You had a similar expression back in the house when your phone rang."

His lips pressed into a thin line knowing I knew. I had a feeling what it was all about in fact.

"It was my father calling," Louis informed me. "My father never personally calls me. Back in the house it was his assistant who called me and sent me a message. They want to know where I am."

"Oh god," it was just as I suspected. Earlier he had told me he excused himself from work by saying he was sick. If they were asking where he was now. They must know he had lied

"I have no doubt in my mind it’s Keith trying to find me. He must have contacted your family to find me."

"It’s fine, I’ll deal with him later," he said.

"Are you sure it will be okay, Louis?" I asked.

"It’s my choice Jasmine and I choose Tony," he told me.

"You are the acting CEO of the Carrington group what if your father removes you from the position for defying him.

"I don’t care if he removes me from the position or fires me from the company altogether. I have money saved up I can do something else with my life. I will be fine. What we certainly isn’t as predictable is Tony’s position. So Let’s focus on saving Tony first,"he said in a sure tone.

My eyes widened in surprise. I was touched by how much he cared for Tony. Knowing Louis was going to get into trouble because of me didn’t feel great but I was grateful for his help.

"Louis?" I called his name.

He turned his head towards me once more. "Yes?"

I leaned over across the the front seat and gave him a quick peck. "Thank you," I said after I pulled away.

Before long Louis drove off in the night.

Tony’s drawing lay on my lap as I looked down at it. I traced the lines of the drawings. "We’re coming Tony. Please be safe and unharmed.

"I don’t know if it’s anything significant," I started.

"Yeah?" Louis encouraged me to go on.

" But Tony only drew himself, Marco, and Kolton. He didn’t draw Diana which I find interesting. Now, perhaps I’m overthinking it.
