HxH : Pokemon Master-Chapter 36: Being Targeted
Chapter 36 - Being Targeted
At first, the two of them thought they had misheard, but it wasn't until Akira repeated himself that they finally understood.
"Are you saying that aside from these, you don't need to pay any price? The only thing is that the Nen beast belly will grow bigger, and its strength will increase?" Pyon pointed at the Gengar, who was currently in a state of bliss, even licking its lips as if it hadn't had enough, and she couldn't quite believe it.
Her pair of pink rabbit ears drooped weakly on either side of her cheeks.
"Exactly!"
"But..." Seeing Akira standing before them unscathed and with a calm expression, Pyon had no choice but to swallow her words.
Indeed, from the outside, Akira showed no signs of being negatively affected by his Nen abilities. Others would go to great lengths, expending tremendous effort just to remove a strand of Nen energy, often bearing various costs in the process.
Yet, none of this seemed to apply to Akira!
The two could only marvel inwardly—
Mr. Akira is truly an extraordinary person!
As they conversed, Gengar had already devoured a large portion of the Death Nen ahead.
Whether it was an illusion or not, it seemed the concentration of the Death Nen had significantly decreased. The commotion also drew the attention of other explorers.
"What's happening! Why is the Death Nen disappearing!"
"Are you blind? Look over there, an Exorcist has taken action!"
...
In an instant, everyone gaze turned to Akira and Gengar. Some were happy, some uneasy, and others... greedy! In an unnoticed corner, two figures clad in large black robes quietly observed the scene.
"Hey, Envy! That kid exorcism ability is something else! Lust would probably love it!" A rough voice came from the burly man, his eyes filled with cruelty.
"Hohohohoho..." The emaciated man, pale as a corpse, stared at Akira and Gengar with an inscrutable expression.
...
It wasn't until people shifted their gaze from Gengar bulging belly that they realized Akira companions were no ordinary individuals.
"Look! That's Pyon, the Rabbit of the Zodiac Twelve!"
"Really? That rabbit outfit, it's unmistakable!"
"I want to be Pyon dog..."
"Not just that, isn't that man Satotz, the Ruins Hunter?"
In an instant, the surrounding crowd was abuzz with surprise, recognizing the identities of the two.
Although Akira thought he heard something odd...
As a member of the Zodiac Twelve, Pyon being recognized didn't surprise Akira. What he didn't expect was that Satotz would also be recognized. But on second thought, most people here were likely treasure hunters or ruins hunters, so it made sense they would know Satotz, a fellow hunter.
In no time, the trio became the center of attention. Akira glanced at the crowd, their exclamations rising and falling, while Satotz and Pyon remained composed. Perhaps they were used to it?
"Alright, let's go!"
Ignoring the others, the trio headed deeper into the Death Nen, with Gengar leading the way, clearing the path. Step by step, the Death Nen gradually diminished.
Satotz and Pyon felt an inexplicable sense of relief, experiencing the dissipation of Death Nen for the first time.
In the past, they had always had to expend their own Nen to resist the Death Nen. This was their first time having such a powerful Exorcist accompany them!
Akira leisurely followed behind Gengar, while Satotz and Piyon remained vigilant, constantly scanning their surroundings. Though Akira didn't mention it, the two instinctively took on the role of protectors.
After all, in their subconscious, Exorcists were not known for their offensive capabilities. Not to mention Akira incredibly overpowered ability to dispel Nen, it's likely that he lacks offensive capabilities.
Just like the few people in the Harimu Ruins, both of them believed that Akira Nen ability was to materialize a Nen beast capable of devouring residual Nen.
With such an overpowered ability to dispel Nen, it's unlikely he would also possess strong offensive capabilities.
Right?
...
The crowd on the periphery, seeing Akira and his two companions leisurely walking deeper into the ruins, couldn't help but grow restless. The residual Nen that had been troubling them had already been weakened by Gengar "relentless efforts," so they too began to entertain the idea of exploring further.
Following behind Akira and his group, they indeed discovered quite a few treasures.
The consequence was that people started fighting fiercely, even causing more harm than the residual Nen had.
After all, the residual Nen would retreat on its own after resisting with Nen for a while and realizing it couldn't win.
Now, without the disturbance of residual Nen, people were instead fighting to the death over these treasures...
