I am an Eldritch Entity-Chapter 62: Brutal fight
Wanting to test his guess, Eryndor didn’t notify the team about the monster.
With complete silence, the three of them dragged the monster across the forest floor, occasionally stopping to sweep away the numerous leaves which were collecting at the front of the carcass while pulling it.
Eryndor watched with his third person view how they were walking towards the monster. There was still no reminder from Liliana.
They continued pulling the dead carcass across the route when Liliana finally notified the team of a monster nearby.
Eryndor witnessed how the beast was just short of entering their range of vision.
This wasn’t your range when you sensed the bigger beast.
Did she tone down on her senses, and could only sense it now? Or did she deliberately notify them late? Eryndor had no way of knowing.
Eryndor readied his fist, getting into a stance as he looked around, doing his best to act like he didn’t know where the beast was.
Liliana spoke up as she held the rope to the corpse, not letting it go.
"It’s a small monster. Eryndor, it’s your turn to fight. If you want to, that is. There is no compulsion.
"Remember though, mission rewards are distributed according to your percentage of contribution."
Eryndor nodded at her. "I’ll fight."
Liliana replied, while gesturing to Ken to drop the rope.
"Ken, stay on stand by. Rescue him if something goes wrong. And Eryndor, I hope you’ve learned at least something from our previous fight, apply it well."
She then proceeded to show Eryndor the direction where the monster was situated.
"We’ll continue moving forward along the route while dragging this corpse. Eryndor and Ken, you can take the lead and initiate the battle."
Eryndor checked his pockets for the supply of emergency pills and set forth.
With Ken jogging behind him, Eryndor focused his sight on the front, soon finding the monster.
Just like the previous one, this one had numerous legs of numerous different compositions and a plentiful number of eyes, all blinking randomly with a completely different tempo.
Exoskeleton covered some parts of its body while some were left bare, just writhing flesh moving about its structure.
What must its skeletal and nervous system be like?
Eryndor wondered, as apart from a few legs, literally everything in the creature’s body could be seen to be constantly being rearranged, including its mouth.
As soon as Eryndor entered its range of senses, the creature left the tree it was poking and charged towards him.
A mass of flesh which continuously changed forms, and possessing numerous eyes rushing towards him brought a significant impact to his mind when he was directly confronting it.
Eryndor didn’t bring any weapons.
For one, he didn’t know how to use them apart from swing, stab and block, and secondly, his cultivation art Internal Fist relied on bare fist to bypass the defenses.
As soon as the monster was within a couple meters of Eryndor, the young man dodged. The surface of the monster had suddenly elongated to strike at him.
Eryndor had a good grasp of how the monster fought. It relied on unexpected attacks at unexpected times to catch their target off guard.
Unless it had some other abilities Eryndor was unaware of, it would be difficult for it to land a blow.
Eryndor coated his fist with Qi and sent a punch packing on one of its eyes.
He didn’t want to use Internal Fist right away without getting a feel of his opponent.
Unlike the expectation that it would be a slimy feeling, hitting the eye unexpectedly felt dry to Eryndor, despite crushing it completely.
Blood soaked his hand as the monster let out a screech. It swiped one of its limbs swiftly at him, the sharp edges of the claws shining ominously in the dim forest.
Eryndor bent backwards, and simultaneously kicked at another one of its eyes as soon as its limb missed.

Another crispy crunch resounded into the forest followed by the screech of the monster.
This time two of its limbs shot out at him. Albeit thin, their movements were swift and precise.
Eryndor could only dodge one, coating his arm with Qi to block the other one.
With quick thinking, he twisted his arm and held the mass of flesh which was about to retreat back into its body.
Before it could react, Eryndor pulled the beast towards him, launching a well timed Internal Fist at one of its eyes.
Crunch.
Eryndor couldn’t get enough of the crunchiness everytime he popped one of its eyes. The beast wailed miserably, its limbs having begun popping out at random times to lash at him.
Eryndor was like a patient hunter, waiting as the monster kept flinging its limbs.
As soon as it tried to get back up, he seized the moment, grabbing at one of the limbs and picking up the monster by enhancing his arms with Qi.
Like a mace, he brought down the monster hard on the ground.
Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.
Pop. Pop. Pop.
Numerous crunchy sounds of eyes popping out one after another were heard as Eryndor relished amidst the sound they made while being crushed.
Feeling the monster wriggle in his hands, he let it go and pulled back his right arm.
Circulating the Internal Fist, he brought it hard on the Monster.
Pulling it back, he repeated the procedure.
Eryndor didn’t have any sharp object on him, so all he could do was resort to punches to kill the monster.
Pull. Circulate. Punch.
Crunch.
Repeat.
Pull. Circulate. Punch.
Crunch.
Repeat.
At a certain point when there were no more eyes left, he kept hitting a single point until the beast stopped moving.
Huff Huff
Eryndor panted heavily as he gazed at the bloodied mass of flesh before him.
"That was brutal."
Ken was already standing beside him at a certain point, frowning as he looked at the beast.
"Take this rope. You are tying that shit yourself and dragging it to the base."
Eryndor held the rope in his hand, looking speechlessly at Ken, who only snapped at him.
"What? Don’t make a bloody mess of your opponents if you don’t want to deal with the aftermath. Try learning to fight clean."
Watching Ken regroup with the two women and resume pulling the complete, hardly battered corpse, he glanced back at the flattened mass of flesh he had fought with.
Eryndor could only sigh and get to work.
