I Am The Only Witch Hunter-Chapter 319: Varick Hallolass
The alarm was sounded and everyone in the castle woke up. ππ³ππππ¦π£π―β΄π£π¦π.π€ππ
But Siderius and Eli had already been long gone. They went back to the camp in the woods and met up with Jude and Ashe.
Eli was much thinner than the last time Siderius saw him. The man was basically skins and bones.
"This is the one you want to rescue?" Jude said.
Siderius nodded. "Would you mind letting him stay in the carriage as well?"
"I donβt mind. But he better not disturb my wife."
"I wonβt." Eli said.
Siderius helped Eli get on the carriage and settled him in.
"I triggered a magical circle inside the castle." Siderius showed them a faint circle appeared on his forearm. "This is a tracking curse. Hallolass will know where I am at all times. It will take time to remove it.
Thatβs why I will need you to continue the journey to Everia. I will cut them off."
"Master! That is very dangerous. Please let me go with you." Ashe said.
Siderius shook his head. "No need. The fewer the people, the easier it is for me to cut them off. You go with Jude and remember to keep Eli safe. He is a man with a literal god behind him. Helping him is good for us."
Ashe nodded. "I understand. Please stay safe Master!"
"I always will."
Siderius climbed on Red and dashed away in the night.
At this time, Varick Hallolass was having a journey to one of his Northern allies. Everyone knew that Siderius and Jude had made an alliance.
Jude was a long reputable witch. He had burned off his potential but was still a very formidable opponent. Siderius was a young promised witch. The two of them combined would become a force that couldnβt be ignored.
"Look, Lord Galland. We canβt just let them build their forces without building ours." Varick said. He dangled the gold wine cup in his hand. "We need to make ourselves strong as well. Especially since the God Mother is falling sick."
"Careful what youβre saying, Lord Hallolass. The God Mother is healthy and well." Arlow Garland said.
"Of course. Of course. I was just saying. In case there is turmoil in our kingdom, the stronger we are, the better. Donβt you agree?"
Arlow nodded his head.
Varick suddenly slapped his hands on the table and stood up. His eyes darted around.
Arlowβs brow furrowed. "Whatβs happening?"
"Someone broke into my prison."
"Your prison? In the Long Call?"
Varick nodded then closed his eyes. He tried to channel his magic to the magic circle but was unable to. "This is no ordinary man. I canβt trigger the trap set inside the circle. But I can still trace him.
Weβre going to have to continue this discussion some other time, Lord Galland."
Arlow raised his gold cup. "Happy hunting."
Varick swung his cloak and walked out of the door.
"Soldiers! To me! Weβre hunting at night!"
Varick didnβt return to his castle. He followed the magic circle with the intention of catching the intruder. He could feel the connection to the magic circle become weaker and weaker every second.
"Theyβre peeling its power off! I need to be quick!"
Varick left his horse and jumped to the sky. He took flight. Hallolass left his soldiers behind and caught up with Siderius.
The witch saw the long white hair of Siderius and his beautiful red steed.
"White hair? Satterblade?"
Before he could understand the situation, Siderius swiped a flint over a bomb and threw it at Varick.
Varick rolled in the air and avoided the bomb. But when it went past him, the bomb exploded with countless pellets shooting out.
A faint barrier appeared around Varick.
"What is this spell?" Varick mumbled. He couldnβt detect any magic at all.
Siderius raised his bow. The Silver Hawk turned into an arrow as he shot it to Varick.
Varick went behind a tree to hide from the arrow. The silver arrow went through the thick tree without stopping.
Time slowed down as Varick saw the tip of the arrow pierced through the wooden bark. The witch was barely able to fly to the side and dodged the silver arrow.
"What kind of arrow is that?" Varick mumbled in disbelief.
Siderius had stopped running and instead went back to Varick. He grabbed the Blazing Soul being hung on the side of red and flipped the fire switch over.
"Stay strong." Siderius mumbled to Red.
He poured all his strength to his legs and jumped up, unsheathing the Blazing Soul at the same time.
His jump was like an arrow, launching himself from Redβs back. The horse almost fell to the ground because of the pure pressure.
Blazing Soul drew an orange fang in the air as it burned brightly.
Siderius, with his iron mask, turned into a blur in the air and shot at Lord Hallolass when he just barely dodged the silver arrow.
The hunter struck the flaming sword down in the middle of Varickβs forehead.
Varick pulled a sword out of nowhere under his cloak. Blazing Soul broke the blade in two and continued going down.
"How?!" Varick shouted in surprise.
Iron blades appeared around him and formed an iron sphere.
Sideriusβ eyebrows raised up as his flaming blade hit the iron sphere and sent it flying.
The iron disappeared as Varick rolled a few times in the air, dismissing the force.
"Ferromancy and Aeromancy. Youβre one talented witch, huh?" Siderius mumbled.
"Very knowledgeable, Lord Satterblade. May I ask why you sneak into my castle at night?"
Siderius smirked. He flung Blazing Soul and extinguished its flame. The hunter raised its hand as the Silver Hawk flew from behind Varick and back to him.
Varick stepped to the side and dodged the sneaky attack.
"The Outsider asked me. I owed him a favor." Siderius said.
Varickβs eyes widened in surprise. Then he clenched his fist.
"You arenβt a witch, are you?"
Siderius smiled again. "Correct again."
Siderius bowed like an actor on the stage. "Please allow me to introduce myself, Siderius Snow Satterblade... Witch hunter."
The hunter activated both his Explosive Speed and Explosive Impact, launching himself up the ground and turning into a blur too fast for ordinary eyes to catch on.
He jumped right at Varickβs face and drove the Silver Hawk at him.
