I Am The Only Witch Hunter-Chapter 340: Kynidus Advertisement
A few days later. The group went to a trail leading up to a mountain. It was where the first Master, the fierce warrior of the east, lived.
On top of the mountain, they saw Jude's carriage. There was no one on it nor anything inside the carriage. Jude had moved Caterina outside.
"It seems we're here." Siderius said.
He got off Red and tied him to a tree. The others followed suit.
"The fierce warrior. Kynidus Hephaestius. I wonder what he is like." Quinlan said.
"We're about to find out now." Bas said.
They continued on the trail until they found a large collection of structures on top of the mountain. There were people walking around, doing all kinds of tasks, and a few practicing swordsmanship in open fields.
"This place is pretty lively." Quinlan looked around and said.
"They say Kynidus is a very carefree swordsman after all. He doesn't care if people come." Siderius said.
Soon they arrived at a large stone castle. A man walked up to them.
"Who are you? What is your business here?" The man said.
"We're here to ask for Master Hephaestius's guidance." Siderius stepped forward and said.
The man scanned Siderius from top to bottom. He saw the huge stature of Siderius and immediately looked down upon him.
Spirit Swordsman did not take the usual path of conditioning your body and building muscle. Their strength came from their will power and therefore, most of the time they would keep their body as small and light as possible to maximize speed.
When the man saw Siderius, he saw a pretentious man that didn't know the first thing about the Spirit Art.
"Go. We don't need you here." The man said.
"Who exactly are we?" Siderius smiled gently. "Are you Master Hephaestius's student?"
"I am. And I decide everything around here when he's not around. You're not welcome." The man said.
Siderius smiled further, "Is that so? I want to hear that from Master Hephaestius himself then."
The man squinted his eyes. He grabbed the blade on his waist.
"You do not want to mess with a Spirit Swordsman, white hair."
"And you do not want to mess with me."
Quinlan came to Siderius' side, "Maybe… We don't want to make a bad impression. We need the Master's help, remember?"
"I'm well aware, Quinn. But this man is only an imposter." Siderius smiled.
"Who are you calling imposter, you arrogant fuck?" The man roared.
Quinlan stepped back. It's obvious that Siderius saw something that he didn't.
"Come. Let me see how powerful you are." Siderius pointed at the man.
The man roared again. Spirit Energy covered him as he shot himself toward Siderius.
Siderius didn't even draw his sword. His body moved to the side at an unparalleled speed. He smacked the pommel of Blazing Soul on the man's stomach and kicked him flying a few feet.
His Agility was over 20 points. It wasn't just twice the speed of a human. Each point stacked upon each other. 20 points made him as fast or even faster than most Spirit Swordsmen out there.
The man rolled on the ground. He quickly got back on his feet and stared at Siderius with wide eyes.
"You?! I didn't feel any will power. How?" The man said.
"Wouldn't you like to know." Siderius faced the man again. His hand rested on Blazing Soul. "This time I will draw my sword. My sword sees blood every time it is unleashed.
Consider it well before deciding what to do next."
The man breathed heavily. He was enraged. But their short exchange already told him that he was no match for Siderius.
The man ran away without looking back.
It was at this time that a group of woodcutters returned from afar. They saw the retreating man and the questionable masked man with white hair. One look and they already knew he was not an ordinary person.
They approached Siderius.
"I see that you've met Osarus." A woodcutter spoke up. "He's always around preventing newcomers from seeing Master Hephaestius."
Another Master laughed, "But most of them were fooled by him though. They really thought he was the Master's student. How did you know?"
"I didn't. But from what I heard about Kynidus. He wouldn't do things like this. He is too lazy for that." Siderius said.
All the woodcutters laughed out loud.
"I've never heard a more perfect description of Master Hephaestius. We need a while to put these woods down. After that I can lead you to meet him. Can you guys wait for a bit?"
"Certainly."
The woodcutters went away into their own houses. Soon they returned and led Siderius' group into the castle.
There were more people running around, training, cooking, cleaning. But they didn't look like servants or workers.
"Who are these people?" Quinlan asked.
"Master Hephaestus's admirers. Most of them decided to stay here to help him take care of his castle. Some want to see if they're lucky enough to be picked one day."
"Wow! People came and worked for him for free? He really is famous and beloved." Bas commented.
"It's not that either. These are the people that he once helped. They just repaid his kindness.
Master Hephaestius is too lazy to do any preservation to the castle also so we have to do that for him."
Soon they were led into a private courtyard within the castle. On the wooden porch was a man lying sideways drinking alcohol from his mug. The man had long dark hair that reached his back.
"Oi, Roran! Haven't seen you for a while?" Kynidus said.
"Greetings, Master Hephaestius!" The man bowed, "I've been busy reconstructing the northern wall."
"Ahhh. I'll tell you to leave it alone. There's only me who's staying here anyway."
"It's not true. There are quite a few people here too."
"I didn't invite you though. You just came and stayed without my permission!" Kynidus rolled his eyes.
"Do you want us to leave?"
"Argh. Fine. Fine. Do whatever you want."
Roran smiled. He then stepped aside and introduced Siderius' group.
"This is…"
"The newcomers, right?" Kynidus sat up. "Alright, let's make this quick. I'm busy drinking.
Each of you come forward and answer my question.
If you don't already know, my question is extremely easy.
Can you survive my blade?"
