I Am The Only Witch Hunter-Chapter 343: Spirit Art

"My experience? What do you mean?" Quinlan said.

Siderius stopped his sword and walked past Quinlan. He tapped Quinlan's shoulder lightly. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

"The Truth-Seeking Path is not the truth. It is about finding the truth. Be honest. When you walk this path, do you want the truth or do you want fix your ailment?"

"The latter." Quinlan said.

Siderius tapped his temple then his heart. "Everything up here is influenced by everything down here. We are emotional creature first and foremost. Your heart must accept the truth before your mind can walk the path."

Siderius left, leaving Quinlan wondered under the starry night.

Truth-Seeking Path was a much easier and less painful route than Witch Hunter Mutation. But if you didn't have the right mind set, you might not go very far.

Quinlan obviously couldn't endure the mutation process with his body alone. He needed the Truth-Seeking Path.

The next day. Siderius and Quinlan returned to the inner courtyard where Kynidus was seen lying on the porch drinking again.

"This guy really likes his booze." Quinlan whispered.

"Maybe there's a reason for it." Siderius shrugged.

They sat down beside Kynidus and waited for him to finish. The fierce warrior of the east glanced at the two of them. He didn't say anything and continued drinking for a little while before sitting up.

"Well. I guess it's time for me to teach you about Spirit Art."

"Finally." Quinlan smiled.

Siderius nodded without saying a word.

"Before we begin. How much do you two know about Spirit Art?" Kynidus said.

"Very few." Quinlan said.

"I only know about its main three ranks.

The Steel of Will.

The Forge of Flame.

The Blade of Spirit." Siderius said.

Kynidus nodded. "Correct. The Steel of Will is the first rank. The Forge of Flame is the second. And the Blade of Spirit is the third.

The higher in ranking you are, the more powerful you are. A third rank swordsman could easily slaughter an entire army. This is why every third rank spirit swordsman is tied to a force within Everia.

Each of them suppressed another one, creating a frail balance in the kingdom. A balance that could easily shatter if any of them die.

Third rank swordsman is pretty far from reality for you two. But I just want you to know the sheer destruction and political power they have. So you don't think this Spirit Art is just a technique.

It's not. Spirit Art separates the common people to people that can decide their own fate. I wouldn't even consider us human anymore."

Siderius' mind fluttered gently but outside he didn't have any reaction.

"The three ranks of Spirit Art are the process of making a sword.

To create a sword. You need steel. That is your will.

You forge the steel in flame. That is the forge.

And finally, you shape the blade.

Our Spirit Art is called Anu Light. Anu is a hidden school that I came from. Unfortunately, there aren't many of us anymore. So our school decided to take in student openly. That is why I am here expecting newcomers to answer my question.

The purpose of Anu Light is your heart. You have to master it and know exactly what you want. Only when you know your heart that you can have a strong willpower."

Siderius and Quinlan listened attentively. Quinlan understood some, didn't understand some. Siderius understood most of it. It wasn't a new concept for him.

The Alchemist back in his old world had tried to develop a Spirit Path for hundreds of years now. But they could never solidify willpower. Or in Alchemy terms, the Spirit.

Witch Hunter as the Body.

Alchemist as the Soul.

The Spirit was unknown. But Siderius hoped that it would be the swordsman.

"How do you control your spirit?" Siderius said.

Kynidus smiled, "You tried before?"

Siderius nodded, "I can manipulate what I think. What my mind is dedicated to. But what exactly is willpower? What is spirit? Is it related to your soul?"

"It is related to your soul. But spirit isn't your soul. It is also not your thought. Nor is it your imagination." Kynidus said.

"What is it then?"

Kynidus pointed to his heart. "It is your action."

Siderius' brow furrowed.

"Or rather, the urge that pushes you to act. Willpower is a real thing. A real ethereal energy. But explaining that to you will be difficult. Because you can't feel it and definitely don't know how to manipulate it.

So in our school of Anu, we teach will as impulses."

After that, Kynidus taught Siderius and Quinlan on how to feel the willpower and manipulate it.

Quinlan was having a difficult time realizing it but Siderius quickly understood everything.

Alchemists treated the Body, the Spirit, and the Soul, as three separated primes of a close circulation.

Spirit Swordsmen treated the physical body, the invisible soul, and the will of spirit as one interconnected loop. The soul produced the Spirit. The Spirit will influence the body.

But it was also the opposite. The body weakened the will and therefore weakened the soul.

Spirit Swordsmen did not tackle the soul or body. They tackled will. They thought that by reinforcing the amount of will power, your body and soul would grow stronger. They're correct.

'I see. So that's why. That's why we've never been able to develop the Spirit.' Siderius thought to himself.

Soul was the foundation. The body was the frame. And Spirit was the material. You couldn't influence Spirit if you treated it just like the other two.

"Now in our Anu way. We create our steel of will by being truthful to ourselves. It is not compulsory that you act like that. But if it's not the way you live, you will not have much success with it. I will begin to show you the Anu way now."

Witches produced Dark Aether by farming human lives and indulging in their desire.

Witch Hunter produced Mutation by grafting other organs and then used meditation to dissolve Psychosis.

Alchemist produced True Aether by learning and studying.

Spirit Swordsmen produced Willpower by faith. The more you believe, the stronger you will be. That was the secret of Spirit Art.

And faith was built by taking the energy from the body and the soul.
