——(POV third person, outside of the formation range)——

The moment that grandmaster Huili waved her hand, formation master Tu knew that that was it for him. The next instant he got teleported outside of the formation range of the residence of the Tianteng organization in the five river city.

He knew that his every move would be watched here so he didn't react too aggressively there. He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth while he was thinking about the events of the night. 𝐟𝓇ℯ𝐞𝚠𝚎𝒃𝑛𝒐ѵe𝚕.co𝚖

'Those bastards and that dog of a grandmaster! You will all pay for this…' He thought as he walked toward a safe house that he had ready for such occasions. It was nothing fancy as it was just a room but it had many formations in place that would help him have a private conversation without fear of it being heard.

Entering the building that his safe 'room' was in, he stood in front of the door and after using multiple items, he deactivated the trigger formation that would explode this whole place if one were to enter the room forcefully.

Once inside, he activated a couple more formations to ensure his safety and privacy. The conversation that he was about to have could not leave this room.

He took out a piece of paper from his storage ring with shaky hands. The paper was dirty and worn out but you could feel a mysterious power from it that would prove that it is anything but a simple paper.

Taking a deep breath, master Tu calmed himself and took out a candle from his storage ring. With one look you could understand that this candle was not ordinary as it was not only emitting light, it burnt in a mixture of yellow and green.

Taking a few more deep breaths, formation master Tu readied himself for what was to come. Burning the paper with the candle, smoke filled the room faster than one would anticipate from burning a paper but what happened after was even more mysterious. The smoke which had filled the room started moving as if it had a mind of its own. Meanwhile, formation master Tu was kowtowing toward the center of the room, even with all the smoke moving in the room you could see the sweat gathering on his forehead.

In a matter of seconds, the smoke condensed so much that it was hard to believe it all happened in a few seconds. The condensed smoke looked humanoid and it was evident that he is of great importance as formation master Tu was visibly shaking.

"Go on." Turning his head, the humanoid said. The voice was anything but human-like but it seemed that formation master Tu was not surprised.

"Leader, forgive me for this sudden communication but something of great importance has happened." Formation master Tu said as he pressed his forehead to the ground with more power.

Hearing this the man looked at formation master Tu for a few seconds and nodded. Right that instant a part of his body detached from him and formed a chair that he sat on shortly after.

Formation master Tu didn't move an inch and waited for the one who he called leader to allow him to get up. With a move of his hand, the shadowy figure lifted master Tu's body and made him stand.

Seeing this, formation master Tu didn't hesitate anymore and started talking.

"Grandmaster Huili was interested in an item today and it seemed someone could provide the schematics for it, grandmaster decided to invite him to the manor to talk about it but the problem was that he was from the Li family, so I tried to stop it from happening." Formation master Tu said with one breath and intaking the next one he continued.

"I activated the defensive formation in the manor to try and humiliate him so that he wouldn't be able to use this chance to their advantage but what I didn't expect was for him to get out of the formation through the secret exit." He left out the part where Li Huang looked straight at the [Formation Eye] as he knew that it had to be a coincidence.

"After that, it was inevitable that grandmaster Huili decided to forbid me from entering the organization." Formation master Tu finished his explanation with his head held down and his fists cupped.

"No matter, it was only a temporary stay for you there. I'm more interested in that boy from the Li family, what is his name?" The leader said and dismissed the part about the organization.

"I understand, his name is Li Huang." Formation master Tu said.

The shadowy figure nodded and decided to get full info on this Li Huang before they made any more moves.

"Get back but be cautious to not attract any attention." The man said and the smoke turned shapeless once again.

——(POV third person, inside the meeting place)——

Li Huang nodded. He wasn't going to just give away the schematics to grandmaster Huili just because she asked for it.

"Yes, these are the foundation for the formation, in the second layer you will connect them." Li Huang said.

Grandmaster Huili nodded. She figured out that these formations were working individually and there was no connection between them, so a second layer that would connect them all would make sense.

"I have given all the schematics so far without asking for anything in return, but I have something in mind for this one." Li Huang said without sugarcoating his words. He wasn't going to give out the schematics without getting anything in return.

Grandmaster Huili was surprised that Li Huang would ask for something as she thought that he wanted to use this chance to curry favor with her. Although it was a refreshing surprise for her that Li Huang wanted something in return instead of putting her in a situation where she has to compensate them with something, She didn't forget that she is the leader of the Tianteng organization. Even if Li Huang is from one of the nine big families, he holds no candle to her.

Li Huang on the other side was waiting patiently as he could guess what was on Grandmaster Huili's mind.

"Of course, it's only natural for Young master Li to ask something in return for the schematics." Grandmaster Huili said and waited a few seconds.

"But…" She started talking again with a simple 'but'.

"But Young Master Li does know that if I were to find your offer unappealing I can just simply ask your family for these schematics and they will hand it to me…" Grandmaster Huili said without any change in her voice as if she was talking about the weather.

Hearing this Li Huang nodded as this was indeed a clever course of action. The Li family is about to get into a war and if they can curry favor with the leader of the Tianteng organization, they wouldn't hesitate to pressure Li Huang to hand over the schematics.

"Grandmaster's words are true…" Li Huang said and continued "But, as someone who is a beginner in the art of the formations at best, how can I be sure that these schematics are not faulty?" He said with a smile and his voice was gentle enough that one could miss the subtle threat that he put in his words.

Grandmaster Huili couldn't help but smirk behind her mask. She has been in many negotiations, but she has never been put in this position.

"Than for both our sakes, let us hope that your offer is acceptable." Grandmaster Huili said and gestured for Li Huang to continue.

"I will not ask for anything unreasonable." Li Huang cupped his fists and said.

"I want the grandmaster to let me join them while you are working on these schematics." Li Huang said as he held his fists cupped.

"Does young master Li want to help me?" Grandmaster Huili asked as she have never been asked for such a thing. Who would think that they can help the formation grandmaster in the art of formation? Besides its absurdness, Grandmaster Huili found this somewhat amusing.
