Chapter 145: Going back

"Ravi?" Asher hugged him before standing in front of him and the cosmic energy rippled, a huge tiger appearing in front of Ravi. It was a large white tiger, the first creature that Ravi had brought back home.

"73 seconds. "Very impressive!"

The large tiger transformed back into Asher.

" It is easier than the crocodile. Lana is helping me. We studied about tigers today in the library." He leaned forward to whisper To Ravi, "I studied. Sage played games."

"You do know snitches get stitches, you little brat." A voice called out from a small purple hole not far from where they were.

Immediately a vine struck, faster than lightning, but before it could reach the hole, the small purple spatial gap closed and opened next to Ravi, a cold, "Hahaha!" Echoing around the farm.

"If either of you fight here and any plant is harmed. I would sell the two of you on the black market and get my money’s worth." Ravi warned as he patted Asher on the head.

Lana appeared from inside his orchard, holding a yellow mango and biting into it. She saw the bird and hurriedly moved forward, "Isn’t this the Azurea of the Pacific? How on earth did...."

She then remembered Ravi’s teleportation and nodded, "True. I forgot I can get rare materials like that. But I don’t have anything to offer that brat. Ravi, would you..."

"No."

"You have not heard my request."

"Whatever the question is, my answer is no."

Lana looked at him and bit into the mango, "You are pricker than usual. Love problems. Sage said that there is a man you like. Men are scum, you should not trust them."

"I am a man." Ravi felt a headache coming.

"Oh!"

What does she mean by that? Oh? Ravi gritted his teeth, this was not the time to be annoyed by this delicate face of his.

But Arlen liked his face, he had even called him exquisite. Ravi’s cheeks turned pink at the memory. Could it be that Arlen was in trouble, was he being blackmailed or something by the kidnappers? That does not make sense the moment the thought landed in his mind, it would not just leave.

"I would be right back. I think I should check something. Ash, I will be right back."

The teenager nodded, causing Ravi to smile. He does not tease anymore when he leaves and he generally looks more confident. Good. Maybe he should help Lana with whatever rare material that she wanted him to find."

Appearing behind the old girls’ school, he hurried to the police station, Arlen should be working late and the evening shift should already be there. It was a few minutes to six o’clock.

When he reached the police station, going around to avoid the protesters, he paused. In front of the bureau, Arlen was standing there with another man.

The man was young and handsome, those were the first things that he noticed about him. The man wore a dark blue combat uniform, His black hair was slicked back, revealing a chiseled face with piercing green eyes, there was a hint of a smile on his lips as he listened to what Arlen was saying. Arlen’s eyes were twinkling like he was genuinely happy, different from how he had been all day.

Standing next to Arlen, they looked oddly compatible.

Ravi breathed in deeply, he wanted to drink. A bottle of wine would really do him some good right now. He turned when he heard his name.

"Ravi!" Arlen waved to him and he jogged forward to meet him.

"Did anything happen? Why did you come back to the office?"

Ravi looked at the man who had come along with Arlen to meet him, the man was sizing him up too. There was a calculating intelligence in the man’s green eyes. He did not like him.

Arlen saw him looking at the man and introduced them, "This is Vega. He is here because..."

At this point, he paused, looked guilty at Ravi, and sighed, "Vega, this is Ravi West, he is an officer and my friend."

"Nice to meet you, Ravi," Vega said, stretching his hand.

Ravi stiffly shook it, "You too. I have to go."

Arlen’s expression fell but considering that he was about to meet the heroes about the Phantoms and he truly did not want to bring his officers into this mess, he sighed, "Okay. I will see you tomorrow."

Ravi’s steps felt like lead when he turned to walk away and he paused. He bit his lips, feeling a throbbing headache in his head, his chest felt so stuffy at the thought of walking away. There was no way he was going to get any sleep if he should go to bed like this. He would not be able to sleep a wink.

"Excuse me!" He said harshly to the man as he dragged Arlen to a corner a little far from where Vega was.

Arlen allowed himself to be dragged as they stopped behind the flower bush in the Department.

"What is wrong with you? You have been acting odd? Why are you not concerned about the kidnapped girl but the protesters, why are you acting like this? I don’t like it. It feels like you are keeping a huge secret from me and I hate it." He did not pause, his words rushing over each other like a wave, not giving a gap. After voicing his thoughts, Ravi felt much lighter and it was as if he was breathing for the first time. He continued at a lower, lighter pace, "I am worried about you, Arlen. I am worried."

Arlen did not get angry, instead, he smiled, a true genuine smile on his lips, the first that Ravi had seen in days.

He pulled Ravi into a hug, wrapping his arms around Ravi as he took in a deep breath of him to relax, "Thank you! I signed an NDA so I can’t talk about it but thank you for worrying about me, Ravi. I am so stressed."
