Chapter 148: Making up his mind

Was his hair growing too long? Ravi thought as he felt the strands uncomfortably brush his neck. Too short to be tied and too long to cook comfortably, his hair was in the worst state possible.

The sound of the blender distracted him and he turned to Asher who had an assortment of fruit on the table and was working on the smoothies. Judging from the bottles on the table, he was making them for four.

"What is the name of this one?" He asked and Asher grinned, using the spoon to scoop the diced pineapple into the blended tiger nut and date.

"Tropical Delight, how is that one?"

Ravi moved his head to the left and right as he thought about it.

"Too used?"

"You are the one that said it," Ravi said, moving his hand back to showcase his innocence.

Asher laughed loudly and Ravi’s lips twitched in turn. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

"Ravi, are you feeling better now?" Asher suddenly asked, looking at the blender in front of him.

Ravi smiled softly and patted his head, "Yes."

"Sage said that you were sad because you are lovesick."

"Lovesick? What goes on in your head every day." Ravi was dumbfounded.

But Asher was not done, "He also said that if you confess to the Captain, you would feel better. Are you going to tell him how you feel? " He did not look at Ravi who turned him around to face him.

"How about you? Do you want me to tell him?"

Asher knew hiding his feelings would not work and he bit his lips, "You are not going to abandon me, right? You would always like me, right?"

Ravi smiled and pulled him into a hug, "Yes. Ash."

He rubbed his back and the teenager grumbled, "I am too old to be hugged like this." His words caused Ravi to chuckle.

"Yes. Yes. You are too old to be hugged like this." He did not let go and Asher did not pull away, rather wrapping his arms around Ravi.

He did not need to be worried and both he and Sage should stop analyzing his relationships, he had no intention of confessing to Arlen.

There were a lot of things to think about. The all too important facet that the other could not possibly return his affection, was the bundles of lies that Ravi carried every day. How about the fact that Arlen was a human and he is an immortal soldier, well, not immortal? There was just so much that could not let him be that careless. Life did not survive through carelessness or recklessness. One wrong move and he would lose him.

He could not lose him. Ravi just knew it, he just couldn’t.

"Is it okay if Luna teaches me biology? I had a mock test yesterday and I got 65..."

"Oh! That is a good score. I am proud of you."

"Out of 200."

"Still proud."

"Ravi, were you very smart in school?"

It had been so long that Ravi had to think for a while, he knew he got high scores in his computer science and marks but he doubted that those marks carried over to other subjects.

"Maybe a little higher than average. Do you like biology?" Asher pulled away from the hug and nodded his head.

"After we study the animal, it is easier to shapeshift to them. My time has even gone down, 74 seconds."

Ravi ruffled his head, "Very good. I am proud of you." They chatted some more before Ravi headed outside. He had woken up very early this morning so he intended to make breakfast, plus his mood was very chipper. That warm hug had carried over in his sleep, leading to some very interesting dreams in the night.

The gray eyes dilated at the memory and a smile appeared on his lips as he stepped through the backdoor to the farm.

When one was in a good mood, crepes were the best for breakfast. Deciding on the spot to make it. He had mung bean flour so he decided to use that.

Cutting some vegetables, he returned inside.

"What are you making, Ravi?"

"Crepes."

His response was a huge smile that stretched for miles on Asher’s face. Ravi mixed the fur with warm water until it was smooth.

"Get some eggs for me. Five." He instructed while whisking the batter to make sure it was very smooth.

He used a ladle to spread it on the hot flat pan. As it began to form, he broke an egg, using a spoon to mix the egg white and the yolk on top of the batter, added some green onions, and flipped it to the other side.

Then he brushed the other side with the sauce that he had made. It was a simple sauce, he then filled the crepe with spicy strips, hams, lettuce, and some crisp.

"Taste it. Does it taste like the one we bought outside?"

Asher bit into it, his blue eyes glowing, "It is even more delicious. It is so delicious. I like the crips the most, it is crunchy when you bite into it."

Ravi helped himself to some, "Not bad."

"We are coming over. Good morning, Ravi." A voice came from beside the sink and Ravi turned back to see a small purple hole.

He let out an exasperated sigh, "The door. Use the door."

"I was announcing our presence first.,"

"Then use the phone."

"I forgot to charge it."

Asher burst out laughing and Ravi said a prayer in his mind, if Malik did not come back in two days to carry this broad, he was definitely going to find him, and when he did, it would not be a pretty sight.

This Sage was a full-time job.

Even though he complained out loud, Ravi ended up making two kinds of crepes that morning which everyone had with rose milk tea.

When he dropped them off in the library, he felt the kind of relief that a parent had when they dropped their children at daycare. He had seen it on the television but now he understood why their shoulders relaxed like that.

You can love your child more than anything and still dance for joy when it is time for them to go to school.

His phone rang and he picked it up. It was Sarah which was surprising because she hardly ever called him.

"Hello. Officer West heads to Hoison. The protesters there had turned violent."

"Head there and do what? My ability is self-healing."

"There are water cannons here. Meet us at Hoisin."

Ravi signed. More work then. He hung up and checked his phone, his brows lifting slightly at the local news that Alexis Russell was kidnapped by Sunshade, which is a subsidiary of the huge corporation Eclipse that wanted to open up a fast food and supermarket line here in Davenport. The comments under the news had already reached 20,000 and Ravi swore.

Arlen had foreseen this, he had warned everyone not to say a word, and no matter how he acted towards his teammates, Ravi had never doubted his loyalty. They would not say a word, not even Draco so who would say something?

He hated this feeling of being in the dark.

Turning he headed to Hoison. Hoison was the industrial part of the town, lines and lines of stores were what the area was known for, they also housed the two large malls in Davenport. One of them was Sunshade, the so-called subsidiary.

The air was thick and the smell of smoke and tear gas soon filled his nose as he headed into the area. If you say that there was a crowd of protesters in front of the police bureau, it was nothing compared to the amount of protesters in front of the Sunshade Mall.

Ravi took a step forward when he paused. His footsteps stilling as he recognized the person in the sky, he was floating above the protesters with his hands raised.

With blonde hair and ocean eyes, he looked like an angel on a mission. The air around him began to swirl and churn, forming a funnel of air that grew wider and wider, spreading around the protesters and in front of the police line.

The swirling winds howled and whipped around, creating a shield that repelled the rocks and bricks that were being hurled by the protesters.

The shield climbed higher and higher, reaching the roof of the Sunshade Mall.

The way he effortlessly used his ability was the thing to watch and Ravi swallowed, his throat getting dry as he looked at Arlen.

How could someone be so majestic? How could he want someone so much that it felt as if his heart was about to burst any moment now?

He scratched his chest while looking at the sight in front of him. Could he do this? Could he just stand below and look at him like this for the rest of his life.’

The answer had always been yes. Yes, without any hesitation but at this moment, Ravi wanted to shake his head.

Arlen then turned, those ocean blue eyes stared at him from high above and a bright smile lit up that face.

Ravi felt his entire body heating up as his heart pounded in his chest.

No. He could not do it. For the first time in his life, Ravi wanted to take a risk that may not bear any result.
