I Am Tired Of Being A Hero-Chapter 163: Please
Chapter 163: Please
The sun disappeared over the horizon and the dim forest became completely dark. Reese had covered the dead body of Nova with some loose leaves as she gritted her teeth. That man had actually left her here, where there was no phone service, in the middle of a forest without any end in sight.
She would probably walk for twenty days before she dies a sad, lonely death. She could not even contact Malik.
Sighing, she leaned against a tree. The layer of thick nark on the large tree had sunk downwards and on its surface, there was something that looked suspiciously like blood could be seen.
Ketchup, she repeatedly told herself as she sighed.
"Fuck! I wish that his water is cold every time he tries to take a bath, may he trip every mor..." She suddenly froze.
"You can continue," Ravi said, as he leaned against the tree, watching her.
Reese instantly stood up, "Sir, you are back. I was waiting for you. You might not know this but I have a problem with drugs. You see when I was..."
Ravi did not want for her to continue speaking, his ears aching at the sound of her voice. He just moved forward to hold her when the girl sniffled, "I am a mother. My children’s father is dead. All five of them need me to survive, please don’t kill me."
Her bone age, she was twenty-three years old. Which five children? If not that he had promised Malik to pick her up after dropping Kaida in Sloven, he would be all so happy to leave her here.
Kaida. Malik had blinded her, crippled one of her legs and one of her hands, he had done something to her, broken her in such a way that left her crazy. Spurling apologies and screaming out names he did not know. He wanted revenge but it was a little hard for him to watch, then Malik had poisoned her.
Six weeks. She would be alive, poisoned for 6 weeks in the most dangerous part of Avalon. A good end, Ravi believed.
If the Sentinel Council could see him now, using Poisson, That was the lowest of low, a Sentinel could ever do. It was the way villains fight, through trickery, that was what he was taught.
"Are you going to keep holding me? I don’t mind doing it with you but can you wait so I can break up with my boyfriend? I would rather die than cheat."
Ravi looked at her and her body suddenly shattered, reconstructing in the woods outside the van.
"Here!" He threw her to Malik, "She is banned from Davenport, If I see her again, I would kill her."
Malik chuckled and the woman threw herself in his arms, sobbing dramatically.
"You can do it now." Malik said and Reese froze, pulling away. The thing with Malik was one never knew when he meant anything and what his subordinate had learned was to never take chances.
"No need. I would board the bus and never show my face to her again. Even if the world is..."
A man suddenly appeared in the clearing, he was tall with sharp black eyes, his hair was braided into mini twists and when he saw Ravi, he smiled and nodded before grabbing Reese and disappearing.
"His name is Onyx."
Ravi looked at the space where the man had gone, "You favor teleportation mutants. First Sage and now Onyx. How did you meet them?"
Malik smiled, "I met Sage first, at that time he could only create small portals that only his hand could pass through, which he used in stealing. His parents left him at a state hospital and he grew up in foster care. He was very young then. He stole my wallet so I told him he had to pay me back."
"And he did?"
"No. He tricked me into appearing in one of his custody cases and the social worker was somehow convinced I was the best fit for him. They had very few people willing to do foster care and they claimed he was a problem child. Of course, if he had told them that he had an ability, he would have been adopted in hours."
"And used all his life. It is a good thing that he did not."
"Meeting me was worse for him but him meeting you was a good thing. Onyx, I met him years later. He was a patient so I tricked him into joining my organization and because at that time, I desperately needed a chauffeur. I am blind, you see."
"Really, I did not notice." The two of them laughed.
"Do you want me to call someone to clean up this scene or do you want to make use of it to make a statement."
"A statement. Am I in the Mafia? Help me clean it up, Dinner on me."
"I am afraid one dinner is not enough. I could smell wine in your property, the last time I came over. Is it possible that you have some hidden away?"
Ravi’s eyes instantly grew sharp as he stared at the other’s nose.
"I am not a dog. I am a psychic. One bottle and we are good."
They were still chatting and both of them suddenly looked up.
Ravi frowned, he felt another energy looking for him, this one was different from the last one, and this one was much more subtle and faster, finding him in mere seconds.
"I have to go. Now." Malik’s eyes were narrowed but there was a very soft, even doting smile on his lips. It was strange but it made him look even softer, his beauty much more approachable.
Malik threw a bottle at him, "Drink it. And for your privacy, you were unconscious, the whole time."
With that, the man appeared and the two of them disappeared. Ravi could feel the energies approaching fast. He first changed the size of his shoe, making it a few inches smaller, and raised his hand, two footprints appearing before it scattered around the woods before he drank the entire liquid.
He felt his body become heavier and heavier, his consciousness gradually blurred as he closed his eyes and slumped to the ground.

The drug might have been intended for him to be unconscious for hours but Malik vastly underestimated his constitution. Five minutes later Ravi came to be, the first thing he noticed was a large, warm body, hugging him. The light scent of vanilla and amber filled his nose. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
Arlen.
His entire body trembled and he wanted to borrow even closer. If he and this person could become one, Ravi would like it very much.
Arlen choked. His heart was filled with various words but his throat was clogged up like a ball of cotton had been stuffed there instead. He hugged him so tightly, his body was wholly numb, awareness only coming back to him when he felt the body in his arms moving slightly as Ravi reached out to stroke his back, carefully comforting him.
He pulled away and looked at it. Pain sprouted through his heart as he relieved the fear in his chest, that fear that this person would not return to his arms. His eyes burned at the edges and the cotton in his mouth dislodged a little, leaving him in control of his voice a little, "I was so worried. Why are you not talking?"
Ravi was surprised and looked at him. The expression on Arlen’s face made him guilty. What was that fear?
Arlen was terrified that he was finally exhausted and fell asleep. He was afraid that everything in front of him was a dream, a figment of his own imagination. The terror that the Phantom had killed his lover and what he was holding now was not a living being crept into his skull through his veins.
"Ravi. Talk to me."
Was he thinking that he was imagining him? Really. He stretched out his hand and gave him a pinch.
The sharp pain on his shoulder went straight to his head, sobering him and he trembled from the pain.
"Real enough?"
Arlen’s eyes curved up when he heard this and it was like this spring had blossomed once more, like the Sun was back in the dark. So damn beautiful.
Arlen chuckled before he reached out to caress his cheeks, his hot fingers tracing them, the gaze on Ravi was so intense as he pulled him into another hug, hugging his waist so tightly as he locked his arms behind him, as if he was afraid he could disappear.
He was so warm, so warm to the point of being addictive, so Ravi sought after him like an addict.
"Arlen." His voice was soft as he pulled away. Thump, thump, thump, his heart was palpitating at extreme speeds. He was sitting up with Arlen propping him up but he felt as if he was swaying on a boat.
It was like he was working on an ice river for a thousand years and met a person who made him feel so warm that he wanted to sink into it, drown in its depths.
The heart pounding against his own made him feel hope, and hope made him greedily. Ravi’s voice was low with a desperate sense of seeking salvation within.
"Please... Please..." Could you kiss me just once? He wanted to beg but even in his desperation, the restraint was like an anchor, not letting him voice out his deepest desire.
Arlen’s hands went round his waist pulling him closer, those blue eyes on him were so deep, so intense that it set flames on his skin, "Forgive me."
